After waiting for about ten minutes without He Yin speaking, Yan Keyi remained calm and composed in place. She wasn't going to act on her own until her teacher gave her instructions.
"Relax, don't be too tense."
After waiting for a long time, Yan Keyi finally heard these words. Even so, Yan Keyi still sat up straight. Although she didn't know what kind of temper He Yin had, Yan Keyi still hoped that she could leave a good impression on her.
Sure enough, seeing that Yan Keyi still maintained this serious attitude, she looked at Yan Keyi with increasing satisfaction.
“Ms. Jiang, I need to speak with Keyi alone. You can look around on your own for now. I will let you know when get out of class is over.”
After the initial inspection, He Yin asked Jiang Ning to leave.
Jiang Ning had no objection to this, but Yan Keyi was somewhat reluctant to part with her.
However, she also knew that He Yin would be starting to teach formally next, so she didn't say anything.
After Jiang Ning left, He Yin seemed to relax a bit, or rather, she looked different from how she appeared when Yan Keyi first met her.
"What do you think I was testing you about just now?"
When He Yin didn't speak, Yan Keyi simply looked at her. She felt that looking at the other person while talking to them was a basic form of respect.
However, she was somewhat surprised that they had just been testing her.
"I don't understand, I hope Teacher He can enlighten me."
Yan Keyi has never been arrogant or complacent; if she doesn't understand something, she simply doesn't understand it.
"Acting is something that requires patience. The more impetuous and eager for quick success you are, the worse you will be at playing a role. What we just tested was whether you have that patience."
After hearing He Yin's explanation, Yan Keyi finally understood her previous intention.
Yan Keyi agreed with her statement.
When she first started acting, Yan Keyi was too conflicted. She wanted to play the role of Liang Weiqing well, but the more conflicted she was, the worse she performed.
"Your mindset is quite stable, or rather, it's far beyond that of your peers. I hope that in your future acting career, you can avoid arrogance and impetuosity and devote yourself wholeheartedly to every role you want to play well."
He Yin first praised Yan Keyi.
Her teaching style has always been one of clear rewards and punishments; those who do poorly are scolded when they deserve it, and those who do well deserve praise.
Even after being praised by He Yin, Yan Keyi's expression didn't change much.
She knew that there was much more to learn than just these things.
The next part of the lesson will begin.
He Yin started by understanding the character from the very basics. To play a role well, one must first have a clear understanding of it. If the actor himself doesn't understand the character he's portraying, how can he possibly play that role well?
When she was learning from Hu Yiming and Qin Yiran, they only taught her how to get into character and grasp the emotions of Liang Weiqing. However, when He Yin explained things, she did so from a general perspective.
He Yin described many different new methods, and Yan Keyi listened with great interest.
Perhaps at first, Yan Keyi was a little reserved, like someone who had just met someone. But as He Yin's lessons progressed, Yan Keyi and He Yin got along better and better.
Yan Keyi wasn't the only one who felt this way; He Yin felt the same way.
She admitted that when she initially agreed to give Yan Keyi private lessons to Jiang Ning, it was actually out of gratitude to Qin Yiran. Because her old friend strongly recommended her on Jiang Ning's behalf, she reluctantly agreed.
Even so, she was actually not very optimistic about it.
She has been out of the entertainment industry for a long time. She teaches, but only occasionally as a visiting professor at a university; she doesn't teach classes all the time.
There are very few actors these days who are willing to put in the effort to hone their acting skills, especially newcomers. There are far too many people looking for shortcuts.
Therefore, He Yin increasingly disliked dealing with those people.
That's why she didn't have much hope for Yan Keyi at all from the beginning. She thought she would teach her first, and after a while, when she felt that no amount of teaching would work, she would talk to Qin Yiran about it.
But to her surprise, after spending so little time together, she had already developed a liking for this junior.
Yan Keyi is not only willing to delve into things, but she also has talent and a quick mind. There are some things that even if she explains them to others, they might not understand. But Yan Keyi is different; she not only understands, but she can even apply what she's learned to other situations. Who wouldn't like a student like that?
Therefore, He Yin grew to like Yan Keyi more and more as she looked at her, and hoped to pass on all her knowledge to her.
"Keyi, look how old I am."
Even if the time spent with Yan Heyin was very harmonious, it was still a class after all, and an hour and a half passed quickly.
He Yin had already called Jiang Ning back, and while they were waiting, Yan Keyi overheard the question.
"Hmm, around thirty."
Judging from appearance alone, Yan Keyi even felt that He Yin was not that old, but her demeanor was definitely not that of a young person. Therefore, after some consideration, Yan Keyi gave a compromise answer.
"Haha, actually I'm almost forty. So what kind of person do you think I am?"
Although she asked Yan Keyi to guess her age because she had something to say, no woman dislikes being complimented on her youth, and He Yin seemed quite happy after hearing Yan Keyi's answer.
It was clearly a very easy question to answer. He Yin seemed to be the kind of person who was gentle, kind, and well-mannered.
However, Yan Keyi felt that since she had asked such a question, there might be other pitfalls involved, so she hesitated to answer.
Seeing Yan Keyi frowning and looking very cautious, He Yin found it somewhat amusing.
Ding-dong—
"I'll reveal the answer to that question when we meet again. Miss Jiang is here to pick you up."
Upon learning that Jiang Ning had arrived, Yan Keyi stopped dwelling on the matter.
He Yin opened the door and welcomed the person outside in, but Yan Keyi saw another familiar figure.
"Teacher Qin, what are you doing here?"
It had been a long time since Yan Keyi had seen Qin Yiran since they parted ways on set, so she was quite surprised to see her at He Yin's place.
"secret."
Qin Yiran made a shushing gesture to Yan Keyi, hoping that Yan Keyi would keep it a secret.
