Chapter 10: Plea

That day, not long after Sang Liwan was called away by Sang Yuyan, he was called away again by Xu.

Sang Liwan felt annoyed when he saw the kindness that was deliberately put on Xu's face.

But now is not a good time to fall out, so Sang Liwan could only listen patiently.

"Wan'er, I know you're still thinking about me...but now that things are done, life has to go on. You can't let yourself get carried away."

Xu said this ostensibly for Sang Liwan's own good, but in reality, it was to protect the troublemaker Sang Yuyan.

After all, she was trying to sow discord in front of Sang Liwan. If this matter were to be known by others, not to mention whether she could find a good marriage in the future, she would probably be sent to a temple to become a nun.

Mrs. Xu and General Sang pushed Sang Liwan to marry into the royal family as a family alliance, wasn't it because they hoped that their beloved little daughter could choose a husband of her choice?

But Sang Liwan didn't do what she expected.

After hearing her words, Sang Liwan looked at Xu with a puzzled expression, "Mother, what do you mean? Prince An and I are living a good life."

Xu was stunned.

That was not what Sang Yuyan had told her before.

As if she had not expected to hear lies from Sang Yuyan, Xu was a little stunned for a moment, staring blankly at Sang Liwan, not knowing how to react, until she caught a glimpse of the gauze on Sang Liwan's hand that had not been taken off in time.

Xu said blankly: "Then you committed suicide because..."

Hearing her words, Sang Liwan subconsciously covered his wrist and said very deliberately, "Mom, I was confused for a moment, it has nothing to do with my sister..."

Realizing what he had said, Sang Liwan quickly stopped talking and refused to say anything more.

Xu's heart tightened, and she tried to maintain her expression as she took over the conversation.

"As long as life is good...that night, about your father."

When she heard the last few words, Sang Liwan felt as if they had finally gotten to the point. She knew that Xu's intention of bringing her in was not simply because he cared about her.

A hint of sarcasm flashed across Sang Liwan's eyes, and he pretended to be embarrassed, "Mother, do you want me to go to Prince An to plead for mercy?"

Seeing her being so understanding, Xu immediately became delighted and nodded repeatedly, "Wan'er, since you said you get along well with His Royal Highness Prince An, then go and beg him. He will definitely protect your father."

"But..." Seeing that Sang Liwan seemed to want to refuse, Xu's face changed immediately.

She flicked the handkerchief in her hand and looked at Sang Liwan fiercely, "Wan'er, do you still remember that you were born in the General's Mansion? Did you marry Prince An and climb up the social ladder, so you don't recognize your biological parents?"

Of course Sang Liwan couldn't admit it when such a big hat was suddenly put on him.

"Mom, how can you say that? My daughter would never dare to have such thoughts."

Xu was a little surprised.

In her impression, her daughter didn't seem like someone who would be so obedient.

But it must be said that Sang Liwan's humility made Xu very satisfied, and even gave her a secret pleasure in her heart.

After all, the person who was bowing to her was the princess consort of the emperor's most beloved son. This disparity in status made Xu feel indescribable satisfaction.

There was even a hint of satisfaction in his eyes.

So, she raised her attitude a little more and scolded him, "Wan'er, the Second Prince also played a big role in your father's misfortune this time. You might have had something to do with it. If you hadn't gone too far and angered the Second Prince, he wouldn't have retaliated against your father."

Whenever Sang Liwan thought of this, he felt a lump in his heart.

She didn't do it, but she has to take the blame.

When the original owner suddenly learned that the Second Prince, her childhood sweetheart, had fallen in love with someone else, she became like a madman. While pestering the Second Prince, she secretly sent people to deal with Chen Yan.

Chen Yan took the second prince away in order to take revenge on the original owner, and the original owner's behavior was exactly what she wanted.

Through her clever design, the Second Prince saw the arrogance of the original owner and his own pitiful helplessness.

Thus, the last trace of guilt in the second prince's heart also disappeared.

If the Second Prince had not been secretly fanning the flames, Chen Yan would not have been able to pull General Sang down directly.

However, this is exactly Chen Yan's purpose. As long as he can disrupt the court of Li State and temporarily join forces with the enemy, there is nothing wrong with it.

It could even completely sever the relationship between the Second Prince and the General's Mansion, while allowing Sang Liwan and Jun Moyi to confront each other. This would kill three birds with one stone, and Chen Yan was happy to do it.

As for the Second Prince's work, she revealed it on purpose.

Now, everyone in the court knew that the second prince was so angry that he was willing to send the general of national defense to jail for the sake of his beloved.

However, there are also people saying that Sang Liwan is short-sighted. He knows that Chen Yan is now the sweetheart of the Second Prince, but he still wants to bring bad luck upon himself.

At this moment, when Sang Liwan heard Xu mention this, he did not refute it. After all, what the other party said was indeed true.

Although Chen Yan was the culprit behind General Sang's misfortune, if the original owner had not been so foolish as to fall into the trap, General Sang might not have fallen so quickly.

"I understand, mother. I will go back and ask the prince to save father."

Seeing that Sang Liwan had given in, Xu nodded and acted like a loving mother, explaining a few things to her in detail before letting her go.

Of course, the conversation between the two of them did not escape Jun Moyi's ears.

So, since returning from the general's mansion, Jun Moyi has been sitting leisurely in the study waiting.

He was waiting for Sang Liwan to come and beg him.

He wanted to see what new tricks his good princess would use to help him rescue the person.

However, to his surprise, there was no movement from Sang Liwan for several days.

According to the secret guard's report, the princess went to bed early on the first day after returning from the general's mansion and did not leave any words.

The next day, the princess was basking in the sun in the palace.

On the third day, the princess felt that the food prepared by the chef in the palace was too bland, so she went to the small kitchen and cooked a lot of food herself.

On the fourth day, the princess...wanted to leave the house.

Hearing the secret guard's words, Jun Moyi, sitting in the wheelchair, tightened his fingers around the Buddhist beads.

He slowly raised his eyelids. He was clearly a man with picturesque features and a distinguished temperament, yet the secret guard kneeling below couldn't help but shudder.

Jun Moyi raised the corners of his lips, but the smile did not reach his eyes at all.

"The princess is leaving the house?"

The secret guard swallowed hard and said, "The princess... has already left the palace..."
