Chapter 436 Persuasion

The word "revenge" seemed to provide a support point for Lin Wanyin's desperate life.

This allowed her to not be completely immersed in the pain of losing her son, and to start thinking about the shop and figuring out how to help her daughter.

Su Shunci also saw what Su Qingyu was trying to say, and she echoed, "Mother, when can you take charge of the shop? I've been managing it for a few days, but I'm really overwhelmed. I have a lot of things I want to ask you, but I'm afraid of disturbing your rest."

Lin Wanyin could see the deep meaning of her daughter's words, but she also knew that she couldn't continue to be so depressed.

"Bring the account book to me tonight, and I'll explain anything you don't understand."

Su Shunci nodded and said considerately, "Hey, I'll send someone to get it in a moment."

Su Qingyu felt relieved. Her mother was willing to do something else, which at least gave her some attention. She wouldn't be immersed in grief and unable to get out of it.

After returning from Yushu Hutong, Su Qingyu went to see Chen Yue again.

Shen Yue was lying on the bed, and the maid beside her was coaxing her to drink porridge.

Ever since the news of Li Yunzhou's death, Shen Yue's eyes had been swollen. When she saw Su Qingyu come in and called her "Third Aunt", tears welled up again.

Su Qingyu sighed and signaled the servants around her to go down.

When trying to persuade Shen Yue, you can't use the same words you used to persuade her mother.

Su Qingyu started talking about Li Yunzhou's childhood and then talked about the relationship between him and Shen Yue.

The two seemed to be talking about beautiful childhood memories, and even though they were heartbroken, they had a faint smile on their faces.

"Xiaoyue, if your brother were still alive, how sad he would be if he came back and saw you like this."

"Let's take a step back and say, even if the person is really gone, you have to live well for him. You still have other relatives. You can't just lie in bed and cry for the rest of your life."

"You haven't eaten much these days, and your grandmother is about the same."

Shen Yue leaned against the headboard, tears welling in her eyes, "Aunt San, I know everything you said. But...but I can't help it."

"As long as I close my eyes, I can see the scene of Brother Yunzhou falling off the cliff."

Su Qingyu took out a handkerchief and gently wiped the tears from her face.

Then he ordered someone to bring some ice, wrapped it in a handkerchief, and applied it to the redness and swelling on her eyes while asking, "Have you finished making the clothes for your brother?"

Shen Yue shook her head and said, "I only made a spring shirt."

Su Qingyu said softly, "Keep going. Once you've made a few pieces of clothing, he'll be back."

"If... the person really can't come back, these clothes can be buried with him. He won't be cold over there."

When Shen Yue heard that the person would not return, tears welled up again. Su Qingyu wiped her tears slowly and said, "Even your Third Uncle and I will have this day. One of us will have to leave first."

"But we all think of him, and he is still alive."

"I came to pay my respects this morning. Your grandmother didn't get enough rest and looked very unwell."

"You should at least pretend to cheer up and eat your meal, so that she can put her mind at ease."

When Shen Yue heard Su Qingyu mention the old lady, she felt a surge of guilt. Third Aunt was right. She couldn't just lie in bed and cry for the rest of her life.

If her grandmother really became ill and suffered because of her, she would be the biggest sinner in the Shen family.

Shen Yue took a deep breath, then took the handkerchief and wiped her face.

"Aunt San, I want to eat something."

Su Qingyu immediately ordered the servants guarding outside, "Bring in some hot porridge and side dishes. Keep them light and don't make them too greasy."

Chen Yue hasn't eaten much these days, so she can only drink some porridge to nourish her spleen and stomach.

Afraid that she didn't want to eat, Su Qingyu also ate half a bowl with her.

The servants at Qingyuanju were naturally attentive, and the side dishes were fresh and green, all of which were Shen Yue's favorites.

Su Qingyu picked up a piece of shredded green bamboo shoots with chopsticks for her, sprinkled them with sesame seeds and added a little sesame oil. It tasted refreshing and not greasy.

"These dishes are easy to digest, so you can eat a little more."

"In a couple of days, you can move to the west courtyard and live there for a while. I'll have someone make you some nourishing soup."

Shen Yue saw that the face had become thinner, but the old lady was not in a position to eat meat.

"No, my brother Yunzhou is gone. I've been eating vegetarian food this year as a way of mourning for him." She lowered her head as she spoke, and hot tears rolled down into the porridge.

Su Qingyu's eyes were sore. She pursed her lips and raised her head to hold back the tears.

"It's too early to talk about mourning. Cousin Lin and your third uncle's people are all looking for her. We might get news soon."

Everyone has a little hope in their heart, but they dare not use hope as the motivation to live, fearing that it will only lead to endless despair.

Shen Yue scooped the porridge gently with a spoon without making any sound.

After drinking half a bowl of wine, he asked Su Qingyu, "Aunt, Brother Yunzhou is obviously the child of the Su family, why did Princess Yongjia say that he is the child of Princess Yongning?"

Su Qingyu sneered when she heard this, "Why else? For the benefit."

"Look at this time's rewards. Besides the posthumous title bestowed upon my brother, the Li family has gained some real benefits."

"Even that good-for-nothing Third Young Master Li Yunhuai was given a title."

"It's like the person is dead, and the Li family still has to sell his bones."

Shen Yue's chest heaved with anger, "They are too shameless. So let's just let this matter go?"

Su Qingyu didn't dare to say too much to Shen Yue. Shen Yue had always been pampered in the inner house, and she didn't want the rest of her life to be imprisoned by hatred.

Just at this moment, the old lady pushed the door open and walked in. She saw Shen Yue drinking porridge with four side dishes on the table.

She immediately walked to Shen Yue with tears in her eyes and gently stroked her hair.

"My dear, you finally eat. Don't do this again. If anything happens to you, what will grandma do?"
