Chapter 505 Song Hongshen's Attitude

"Hey, whose daughter is this? Why is she running around like this?"

Su Qingyu looked towards the door of the private room and found that it was her mother Lin Wanyin who was bumped by Wang Jinyao, and the person who spoke was Nanny Bai beside Lin Wanyin.

But Wang Jinyao had no intention of stopping and had already left.

"What's going on?" Lin Wanyin and Lin Wanli walked in and looked at everyone in the private room in surprise.

They didn't know what had happened until someone downstairs reported that the eldest daughter had gone to the second floor and seemed to have had a quarrel with someone. The brother and sister then hurried over.

Seeing this, Song Wanwan walked to the door and said to the ladies, "Let's get together another day."

Everyone knew that the two families were about to have a conversation behind closed doors. They all took their leave, knowing the signs. Song Wanwan signaled the maids beside her to escort the young ladies out.

Song Hongshen was very polite to Lin Wanyin and Lin Wanli, performed the ceremony of juniority, and invited them to sit down and talk.

The small private room seemed a bit cramped, and the maids and servants all retreated outside.

Su Shunci whispered to Lin Wanyin and Lin Wanli what had happened, without exaggeration or leaving out a single detail.

Lin Wanyin frowned when she heard this, especially when Wang Jinyao scolded Su Zhilan, which made her face darken immediately.

She was close to the Hai family, and their two children also had the surname Su. So even after the divorce, Lin Wanyin still loved Su Zhilan.

How could she not be angry when her own child was wronged?

But Su Zhilan was the fifth daughter of the Su family, and she had no connection with the Su family. It was not her turn to intervene in this matter. She could not bypass Su Chengxun and the Hai family to negotiate with the Song and Wang families.

After thinking for a while, Lin Wanyin said to Su Qingyu, "I'll take Zhilan back to Prince Ning's Mansion first. You go and tell your uncle and aunt."

Su Qingyu thought this was a good idea, as her fifth sister was probably scared too.

After the discussion was complete, Lin Wanyin, Lin Wanli, Su Shunci and Su Zhilan all stood up and prepared to leave.

Song Hongshen looked at Su Zhilan, wanting to say something but stopping himself, and in the end said nothing.

After a few people left, only Song Hongshen, Song Wanwan, and Su Qingyu were left in the room.

The waiter brought the tea again, and Song Wanwan spoke first.

"Sister Su, I'll tell my mother about this when I get home. Don't worry, my cousin will definitely go to the Su family to apologize."

Song Wanwan was full of self-blame. She had no time to ask them to appreciate the flowers, and caused such an embarrassing incident.

Su Qingyu spoke to comfort Song Wanwan, "This matter has nothing to do with you, and you don't know the inside story."

Given Wang Jinyao's feelings for Song Hongshen, she would have a quarrel with her fifth sister sooner or later. Even if this incident hadn't happened, there would have been something else.

After comforting Song Wanwan, Su Qingyu looked at Song Hongshen again.

"Your Highness, the last time my fifth sister was dining out, Miss Wang ridiculed her."

"Today, he even insulted me with words, saying all sorts of nasty things."

"If it were an outsider, it would be fine. My Su family wouldn't be afraid. But this person is your biological cousin. I'm afraid that if my fifth sister marries into the family, all these problems will continue to arise."

Su Qingyu's words were a warning, and she also wanted to see the Song family's attitude.

Song Hongshen's eyes were deep. After listening to Su Qingyu's words, he said in a deep voice: "Don't worry, Third Madam, the Wang family cannot control our Song family. I will definitely give the Su family an explanation for this matter and will never let Fifth Miss suffer humiliation in vain."

Su Qingyu nodded and said, "It's good to have the loyal and brave king say this." Then she stood up and left.

After she left, Song Wanwan asked Song Hongshen, "Third brother, what should we do now? Should we go back home and tell our parents?"

Song Hongshen stood up and said, "You go back first and tell your family. I'm going to the Wang family."

After leaving Guangfulou, Su Qingyu took a carriage directly to the Su family.

She did not elaborate on this matter at the Su family, but instead invited the two of them to get on the carriage and go to Prince Ning's Mansion together.

In the carriage, Su Qingyu recounted what had happened today in detail.

She heard that Su Zhilan had met Song Hongshen several times in private and was humiliated by Wang Jinyao because of this. Hai was angry and felt sorry for her daughter.

Fortunately, the man was Song Hongshen. If it were someone else, he would never be able to wash himself clean even if he jumped into the Yellow River.

She couldn't understand why her well-behaved and dignified daughter could be so bold. Even if they were engaged, it would be against the rules to meet in private.

Su Qingyu whispered to Hai, "Aunt, don't be too harsh on Fifth Sister. She's still young."

Su Zhilan was simple-minded, her mind full of shipbuilding blueprints, and she didn't think about anything else. Even if Su Zhilan was wrong, it was not a reason for Wang Jinyao to humiliate her.

Although Hai was angry at her daughter's disobedience, she was more distressed. She looked outside the carriage from time to time, feeling anxious.

Su Qingyu recounted Song Hongshen's attitude today, "Don't worry, Third Uncle and Third Aunt, with the words of the Loyal and Brave King, this incident will not affect Fifth Sister's reputation."

Soon, the carriage arrived at Prince Ning's Mansion.

Lin Wanyin knew that Su Chengxun and Hai were coming, so she didn't go back to the inner courtyard, but waited in the outer courtyard hall with Su Shunci and Su Zhilan.

Su Qingyu led her uncle and aunt to the door of the hall, and her brother Su Yuanzhou also came over after receiving the news.

As the four of them reached the door, they heard crying coming from the hall.

Su Chengxun recognized his daughter's voice and took a few quick steps. When he entered, he saw Su Zhilan lying in Lin Wanyin's arms, tears streaming down her face.

Without bothering to salute Lin Wanyin, Su Chengxun first looked at his daughter, "Zhilan, why are you crying so sadly? Daddy will go to the Wang family now and settle the score with them."

Su Chengxun was cautious when he looked at his daughter, but when he said he would settle the score with the Wang family, his face was full of anger.

Su Qingyu stood aside, watching her uncle's expression change, feeling envious. She had never felt such a father's full protection for his daughter before.

She subconsciously glanced at Su Shunci, who was also pursing her lips as she looked at her uncle and Su Zhilan. She reached out and took Su Shunci's hand, giving her a comforting look.

Su Zhilan raised her head only after hearing her father say that they were going to Wang's house.

While sobbing, she said, "Daddy, it's my fault for not following the rules and causing trouble for our family."

She grew up in Jiangnan, where people were more open-minded than in Beijing. To her, asking questions in private wasn't a big deal. She thought she hadn't done anything out of the ordinary, but she hadn't expected it to cause such a big mess.

Although Wang Jinyao went too far today, this incident would not have happened if she had not given others the opportunity to take advantage of her.

So on the way back, she belatedly began to reflect on herself. She wasn't afraid of her reputation being damaged, nor was she afraid of the Song family breaking off the engagement, but she was afraid that her parents and siblings would be implicated by her.

Seeing that she took all the blame on herself, Su Chengxun pulled his daughter with heartache and spoke softly.

"You don't have to take all the blame on yourself. You're still young, and you'll understand these rules slowly."

Hai looked at her daughter's tear-stained face and thought of the relationship between the Wang and Song families. The more she thought about it, the more she felt that this marriage was not appropriate.

He said to Su Chengxun, "Master, I think we need to reconsider our marriage with the Song family."
