Chapter 102 It Turns Out to Be a Bus

Zhang Fan was playing with Xiao Hei in the yard.

Ji Zhi squatted on the ground, watching Zhang Fan and Xiao Hei play around, and couldn't help but ask, "Dr. Zhang, how did you figure out that woman was involved in this kind of thing today? Can you teach me?"

She appears to be a respectable woman, but he never imagined she was so promiscuous in private. He couldn't figure out how Doctor Zhang could have known.

He was talking about what happened when he was depositing gold today.

Next to the bank where he deposited his gold, a large crowd gathered, drawing Zhang Fan's attention.

Seeing Zhang Fan's curiosity, Ji Zhi introduced, "This is Jiangcheng Antique Street. They sell everything here, jade, ceramics... but there are genuine and fake items, and people who don't know anything about antiques can easily be cheated."

Zhang Fan wanted to see if there were any jade artifacts with spiritual power, so he headed towards the antique street.

The antique street features replicas of ancient architecture, with numerous stalls at the entrance where vendors call out, "Boss, take a look and see if you have any antiques you like. Our shop guarantees authenticity."

Further in is a street lined with dozens of antique shops, their interiors overflowing with all sorts of antique treasures.

As Zhang Fan was looking around, a sharp female voice came from behind him: "Your jade thumb ring has a nice color, sell it to me."

Zhang Fan looked up and saw that the speaker was a woman who looked to be in her twenties or thirties. Her face was covered with powder thicker than a city wall, and she wore sunglasses. She had a bald man on her arm.

The man wore the same style of large black sunglasses and a thick gold necklace around his neck, clearly dressed like a nouveau riche.

The other person's tone was condescending, and before Zhang Fan could even speak, Ji Zhi couldn't help but ask, "Who are you?"

The woman adjusted her sunglasses with one hand, looking down through the top of the sunglasses: "It's none of your business who I am. It's your honor that I'm interested in your stuff."

As she spoke, the woman rubbed her face against the bald man's chest and said coquettishly, "Darling, I want this jade thumb ring."

A clear white stain instantly appeared on the bald man's black T-shirt.

Zhang Fan reminded him, "The flour on your face has come off."

Upon hearing this, the woman instantly flew into a rage: "You country bumpkin! This is Givenchy foundation, what kind of flour is this? You ignorant fool!"

The bald man tightened his grip on the woman's waist to comfort her: "Sweetheart, I'll give you whatever you want."

He turned to Zhang Fan and said, "How much did you pay for this jade thumb ring? I'll pay double."

As he spoke, he revealed two large, gleaming gold teeth.

Zhang Fan held up one finger.

"One thousand, no problem." With that, he released his hand from the woman's waist and looked down to take the money out of his briefcase.

Zhang Fan shook his head, and the bald man frowned: "Ten thousand?"

Zhang Fan shook his head again. The bald man said with some displeasure, "Know when to quit while you're ahead. This broken jade thumb ring of yours is worth 100,000? I've seen plenty of antiques. Yours is just a bit old. It's very common."

Zhang Fan shook his head again, and the man snorted coldly: "You still want a million?"

The woman flew into a rage, her voice shrill: "Are you really that desperate for money! I gave you a chance and you didn't appreciate it. Honey, let's go."

Zhang Fan then spoke up: "This is not the number 1, but a Chinese character."

Bald man: "How do you pronounce it?"

"δΈ¨ (gun, third tone)!"

The woman pointed at Zhang Fan with her red-painted fingernails: "You country bumpkin, how dare you swear?"

Zhang Fan sneered: "Plastic surgery freaks and public buses shouldn't speak; their mouths are too foul."

The woman's fingers trembled with anger: "You're talking nonsense."

Zhang Fan: "You have serious gynecological problems, as well as syphilis, gonorrhea, and hepatitis B..."

The woman's expression changed: "You...you're talking nonsense!"

Her eyes darted around in panic as she tried to grab the bald man, only to see him pull away with a grim expression and take a step back, leaving her with nothing.

"Is everything he said true?" the bald man questioned.

The woman's voice was panicked: "I...I didn't."

"No wonder you said you weren't feeling well and wouldn't let me touch you, turns out you had a sexually transmitted disease, damn it!"

The bald man slapped the woman across the face, making her nose crooked.

The woman cried out as she held her nose back, tears leaving two clear streaks on her face: "Husband, I was wrong. I promise I'll only have you from now on. Please give me another chance, okay?"

The bald man patted the white ash on his chest with exaggerated gestures and pointed in one direction: "Get lost!"

The woman stamped her foot: "There are plenty of men in the world, don't come begging me again."

The bald man was very annoyed because the white ash on his chest was impossible to wipe off.

Ji Zhi couldn't stand it anymore and handed him a tissue: "Brother, take it easy."

After fixing his clothes, the bald man apologized to Zhang Fan, saying, "Brother, it was my fault just now. Do you have time to do me the honor of treating me to a meal?"

Zhang Fan was in a hurry to go home and declined, saying, "Maybe next time."

He made a phone call, and just as the bald man saved it, he heard Zhang Fan say, "You have a disease that will flare up in about a week. Remember to call this number then."

The bald man was furious again upon hearing this: "I treated you like a buddy, and you actually cursed me like that."

However, he didn't dwell on it, since he was the one who spoke rudely to Zhang Fan first, so he decided to let bygones be bygones.

"Forget about the dinner, we won't see each other again." He deleted Zhang Fan's number and left without looking back.

Ji Zhi couldn't help but shake his head: "It's true what they say, 'it's hard to persuade a damned ghost,' he actually deleted Dr. Zhang's phone number."

Zhang Fan didn't care about this matter. He just wanted to expand his business and make some money. With his medical skills, making money wouldn't be difficult.

Seeing the truth in Ji Zhiqiu's eyes, Zhang Fan said honestly, "I saw it with my own eyes."

Ji Zhi sighed: "As expected, there is a gap between geniuses and ordinary people."

He continued to squat and watch Zhang Fan and Xiao Hei play. As he watched, he suddenly exclaimed in surprise, "What kind of dog is Xiao Hei? It looks like a wolf. Did you buy it?"

Little Black has shed its youthful appearance and is now about half a grown-up. Its fur gleams with silver, its back is a slightly darker color, its face has a long, pointed nose, and its ears stand upright.

Zhang Fan told the truth: "I picked it up outside."

Zhang Fan thought Ji Zhi had figured it out, but then Ji Zhi changed the subject: "This is a wolfhound, which costs tens of thousands of yuan on the market. One that looks so much like a wolf is probably even more expensive."

Zhang Fan was speechless; Ji Zhi had perfectly avoided the correct answer.

Just then, a cry of alarm came from inside the house: "Chunyan, you've been bitten by a snake!"
