Chi Fei drifted down like a kite with a broken string.
Zhang Fan ran over as fast as he could, and at the last moment before Chi Fei landed, he reached out and hugged her, rolling around on the ground a few times to dissipate the force.
"Zhang Fan!" Chi Fei spat out a mouthful of blood. "Run!"
Zhang Fan looked up and saw Jing Xian and the others sticking their heads out, looking down.
Ning Qi asked, "Master, it's so high down there, she must be dead, right?"
Jingxian waved his hand: "The appearance of the Miao demoness here is definitely not a coincidence. She was injured and returned to Miao territory. According to Miao customs, she will never go out unless necessary!"
Ning Qi and the others looked worried, but reluctantly agreed: "Okay!"
Jing Xian cursed, "What if he's the one who can destroy the Heavenly Dragon Sect? You'll be wiped out along with the sect! Get your act together!"
"yes!"
Jingxian sat in meditation, while Ning Qi and the others walked down the mountain.
It was getting late, and the group could only see the road by the bright moonlight.
However, to the naked eye, there were many loose rocks, overgrown grass and branches on the road, and before long, the group of people had large and small wounds on their bodies.
"Ning Qi, isn't your master too cowardly? Falling off a cliff dozens of meters high, it's a miracle if he doesn't turn into mincemeat, let alone live."
“Master must have his reasons for doing this,” Ning Qi said impatiently, though he didn’t understand it either.
After all, they were unfamiliar with the area and couldn't see the road at all.
"Ah—" A bloodcurdling scream rang out, accompanied by the sound of falling rocks.
Ning Qi turned around abruptly and realized that one of the four had disappeared. Faint sounds came from not far away. He asked in a panic, "Are you alright?"
"I feel like something bit my leg, help me!" the man cried, his voice trembling.
Hearing this, the others felt a chill run down their spines and their scalps tingle.
Ning Qi: "Hang in there, we'll come to rescue you in a bit."
Diao Yuan rolled up his trouser leg to get downstairs, but Diao Qi stopped him: "What are you doing?"
"Didn't we say we were going to rescue him?" Diao Yuan asked, puzzled.
“We’re in an unfamiliar place, and there are wild animals around. Would you dare go down there? Besides, our flashlights and phones are out of power, so we have no way of determining its exact location.”
"You have no conscience!" another person said, about to go down, but Ning Qi snorted coldly: "Go ahead, but if you get bitten by a snake, I can't save you."
Upon hearing this, the other person hesitated several times, but in the end did not go down. He just shouted down, "Hold on, we'll come and save you when we can see you again."
Ning Qi sighed and sat down on the ground: "Let's wait until dawn. It's too dangerous to go down directly."
Diao Yuan was a little scared: "Brother Qi, what if Master Jingxian gets angry?"
Ning Qi: "Don't worry, if you don't tell and I don't tell either, my master won't know. He fought with that demoness and was injured."
Diao Yuan sat down, and the other person paced back and forth on the edge of the cliff before finally sitting down as well.
As dawn broke, Diao Yuan awoke from his exhaustion. The sky was already darkening. He instinctively looked down the cliff and let out a bloodcurdling scream. The birds in the trees were so frightened that they flapped their wings and fled.
The other person was awakened by the noise and saw Diao Yuan sitting on the edge of the cliff, his face pale, his finger trembling as he pointed forward, his voice shaking as he said, "Dead...dead!"
The man peered down and saw a protruding rock at the bottom of the cliff, no more than two meters away from them. The man who had fallen was curled up, his skin was dark, his eyes were bulging, and his face was distorted, as if he had been frightened. He looked quite creepy.
"Didn't you say yesterday that you would go find him at dawn? Now he's dead!" He grabbed Ning Qi's collar, who was meditating, his eyes bloodshot.
Ning Qi's voice was icy, and his eyes were sinister: "He's your teammate, saving him is your business. I'm not your superior, you can save him yourself, how can you shift the blame to someone else!"
His nonchalant attitude only fueled the other person's anger.
"Go to hell!" The other party swung his fist and punched Ning Qi.
Ning Qi smirked, casually grabbing the other man's fist in his palm. With a slight exertion, a "crack!" sound of bone breaking was heard, accompanied by a scream, as the man's hand bones were broken.
The man looked up in disbelief: "When did your skills improve? Could it be...?"
Before he could finish speaking, Ning Qi secretly manipulated his body, absorbing all the soul within him.
Ning Qi practiced evil arts, relying on absorbing people's souls to cultivate, but this was too immoral, so he hadn't practiced it for many years.
His master gave him a hint, urging him to improve his skills, and he understood what his master meant.
He had this idea when they fought in the abandoned factory last time, but he never dared to put it into action, fearing that he would be discovered and criticized when he returned. With his master's hint, he became bolder.
The person who fell off the cliff was deliberately pushed by him. He had this idea when he was scouting the terrain during the day, and he knew that if he controlled the force, he wouldn't hurt anyone.
He might not have a chance of winning if he takes direct action, so he has to resort to underhanded tactics.
After Diao Yuan and the other man fell asleep, he used a sleeping potion to knock them unconscious. Then he secretly slipped down and absorbed their souls. After absorbing them all night, his skills had improved considerably.
The man tried to escape, but Ning Qi drained him completely.
Diao Yuan looked at Ning Qi, who was constantly approaching him, his eyes filled with fear: "Brother, big brother, I am your best little brother, are you really willing to do this?"
Ning Qi's eyes were icy: "You can't catch a wolf without risking your cub!"
Then came another piercing scream, and Diao Yuan's skin visibly turned black before he finally stopped breathing.
"After I finish my mission, I'll build you a proper cenotaph!"
