Su Qin's arrest was all part of Zhang Fan's plan.
After she was captured, she was brought before Tu Shan Guan Hai.
Originally, Tu Shan Guan Hai used them as hostages in an attempt to force Zhang Fan to show himself. However, Su Qin made outrageous remarks in the prison, constantly insulting Tu Shan Guan Hai and even clamoring that if he had the guts, he should drag them out into the street and chop them up.
Tu Shan Guan Hai originally intended to kill them on the spot, but Hao San Jun, fearing death, begged Tu Shan Guan Hai: "Demon King, I have an idea that can trick Zhang Fan into coming here."
Tu Shan Guan Hai immediately called a halt, eager to hear what Hao San Jun would say: "Zhang Fan is very loyal. Knowing that we have been captured, he will definitely come to rescue us."
Tu Shan Guan Hai thought Hao San Jun's words made sense; Zhang Fan had come to the Demon City because of his sister-in-law's heart.
Seeing that things were going well, Hao Sanjun flattered, "As long as we spread the news that we're going to be beheaded, it will not only enhance your reputation but also lure Zhang Fan into the trap, killing two birds with one stone."
Tu Shan Guan Hai's eyes lit up: "That makes sense. Kill the woman who was shouting just now, and we'll send you out tomorrow."
Nie Shuang cried out in fear: "Demon King, we are all one. If Zhang Fan sees that we are missing a person, he will definitely become suspicious. I have seen that Zhang Fan has divine skills. If you can obtain them, you will definitely become an immortal."
Hao Sanjun pleaded, "Demon King, I'm very sincere. Can you spare Sister Qin's life? She can't escape anyway; you'll kill her tomorrow."
Tu Shan Guan Hai hesitated for a moment, but in the end, he spared Su Qin's life.
After he left, Su Qin and the others all breathed a sigh of relief.
Taking advantage of the guards' inattention, Su Qin whispered, "Well done."
Nie Shuang patted her chest: "Sister Qin, I was really scared just now. What if you had really been slashed?"
"Don't worry, Zhang Fan said that Tu Shan Guan Hai is a bit dim-witted and can't tell whether we're acting or not."
They all admired Zhang Fan's intelligence; he hadn't even met Tu Shan Guan Hai yet, but he could analyze his personality so thoroughly.
Su Qin had another mission while in prison: to find Bai Rou'er.
Zhang Fan guessed that Bai Rou'er was also in prison. He had been secretly observing since she was locked up, but he hadn't seen any trace of Bai Rou'er.
In fact, ever since entering the Demon City, Zhang Fan had been carefully observing the living conditions of these demons and the actions of Tu Shan Guan Hai, which allowed him to easily deduce his personality.
Just as he had expected, Tu Shan Guan Hai was not very smart.
He ordered Tu Shan Duoduo to storm the execution ground, and then took the opportunity to rescue Su Qin and the others.
Taking advantage of the chaos, Su Qin stole the key from Tu Shan Guan Hai's hair.
Taking advantage of the few guards in the treasure pavilion, the group slipped inside.
Tu Shan Guan Hai didn't realize what was happening at first, thinking Zhang Fan was hiding among the demons watching, which resulted in a significant delay.
When he realized what had happened and reached into his hair, he was struck dumb – the key hidden in his hair was gone.
Tu Shan Guan Hai suddenly stood up and said angrily, "Quickly, go to the treasure pavilion."
Su Qin didn't know how to tell Zhang Fan, but Zhang Fan spoke first: "Have you seen Bai Rou'er?"
“No, there’s no one in the prison,” Su Qin whispered. “But I heard that a human escaped before, maybe it was Bai Rou’er.”
Zhang Fan's heart sank. His divination abilities had vanished, and he couldn't tell whether Bai Rou'er was alive or dead.
Zhang Fan and his group arrived at the treasure pavilion, used the key to open the door, and slipped inside.
Nie Shuang took a step forward, and with a "whoosh!" a cold arrow fell from the sky.
Fortunately, Zhang Fan grabbed her by the collar and pulled her back.
Nie Shuang, still shaken, said, "Thank you, Zhang Fan."
Zhang Fan: "Be careful, there are traps in here."
Su Qin frowned, staring at the uniformly colored bluestone floor, unable to figure it out: "How are we supposed to get in like this?"
The room was empty, with nothing but two walls and a door leading inside.
To get inside, you have to go through these facilities.
Zhang Fan looked around and his gaze fell on one of the walls, where a star chart was painted.
"Don't panic, I'll go scout ahead."
Before Su Qin could stop him, Zhang Fan ran a few steps forward.
"Whoosh whoosh whoosh!" A barrage of cold arrows rained down on Zhang Fan.
Zhang Fan lightly touched the ground with his toes and flew directly back to the starting point.
Nie Shuang and Su Qin reached out and grabbed Zhang Fan's arms. Hao Sanjun withdrew his hands from the air, feeling somewhat superfluous.
"It's not easy to get through here," Su Qin said worriedly.
Zhang Fan: "I've figured out the pattern. Follow me."
As soon as he took that step, everyone else's hearts jumped into their throats, and they couldn't stay calm.
Zhang Fan extended a hand, which Su Qin took. Stepping on the spot where Zhang Fan had stepped, she pulled Nie Shuang along, while Nie Shuang dragged Hao Sanjun along.
They followed each other closely, on high alert, their minds focused, afraid of making a mistake.
Fortunately, they all made it safely to the other side.
Nie Shuang looked at Zhang Fan with bright, sparkling eyes, asking with a mixture of admiration and curiosity, "Zhang Fan, how did you know?"
Zhang Fan pointed to the wall: "Those are the seven western constellations. The passageways here correspond to the positions of the constellations."
The seven western constellations are also known as the White Tiger. In traditional Chinese culture, the White Tiger is the god of war and slaughter, so it is not surprising that demons worship the White Tiger.
After entering the room, we passed through two more mechanisms before reaching the inner hall.
They thought it was over, but Su Qin and the others were dumbfounded.
One wall is lined with display shelves, holding hundreds or even thousands of hearts.
Su Qin felt a chill run down her spine. Each heart was a life; just how many lives had Tu Shan Guan Hai taken?
Zhang Fan's divination abilities had disappeared, and he was no longer sure which of the hearts here belonged to Li Chunyan.
