Chapter 41 The two reconcile

The woman's face flushed red with embarrassment. She was too ashamed to talk about this; she had never told anyone before. How could this young man know?

Because she was so concerned about saving face, she refused to be sincere and insisted on kicking Zhang Fan out of the car: "Don't even think about getting a ride!"

Zhang Fan: "You only have a bowel movement every five days, and every spot is so painful it bleeds, like a lump of stone..."

The woman's face gradually turned to shock as all her symptoms were described in detail.

She grabbed Zhang Fan's hand, her face full of piety: "Miracle doctor, do you have a solution?"

He's a miracle doctor, absolutely a miracle doctor.

She had previously consulted Dr. Niu, but because of pride, she didn't tell the truth, and Dr. Niu couldn't find the problem.

Zhang Fan calmly said, "Let me take your pulse."

The woman obediently reached out her hand. The driver, her husband, saw this and said irritably, "Where did this conman come from? Wife, he just wants to swindle you out of your money. Get him out of the car right now."

Because of Zhang Fan, the car remained parked there, and the passengers began to complain.

The driver locked the car and was about to kick Zhang Fan out.

The moment he waved his hand, Zhang Fan happened to grab his wrist and said in a voice only the three of them could hear: "Kidney deficiency, weak and powerless..."

The driver's pupils widened suddenly, his face filled with astonishment: "A miracle doctor!"

Zhang Fan prescribed medicine for the two men, who were very respectful to him. They knew the prescription would work because he could immediately detect their symptoms.

Normally, cars don't pass by the Kelai Restaurant, but to make things easier for Zhang Fan, the driver took a detour and dropped him off directly at the Kelai Inn.

Before even getting out of the car, Zhang Fan saw a large crowd gathered in front of him, with Bai Rou'er in the middle.

Bai Rou'er spread her arms to block in front of her, but the group clearly wouldn't listen. They were very aggressive and seemed determined to force their way in, creating a tense atmosphere.

Behind her hung a large, gilded black sign that read "Kelai Inn".

Zhang Fan immediately got out of the car, pushed through the crowd, and walked in, shouting, "Make way! Make way!"

He was very strong and immediately pushed the person away.

When Bai Rou'er saw Zhang Fan, tears appeared on her hardened face. The grievances in her heart could no longer be hidden and surged to the surface, and her eyes instantly turned red.

"Zhang Fan, what brings you here?"

"Don't worry, I'll protect you. Tell me what happened? Why are a bunch of old men bullying a young girl!"

Surrounding Bai Rou'er were three elderly men in their forties or fifties, followed by several young men standing behind them.

The old man standing in the middle had a beer belly and a smile on his face, but the smile didn't reach his eyes. "Young man, don't say such harsh things. We're just collecting debts normally. How can you call it bullying?"

"Exactly!" the others echoed.

Bai Rou'er's eyes were red: "Tomorrow is the final deadline, the time hasn't come yet, you're going too far!"

The man with the beer belly chuckled, glanced at the Ke Lai Restaurant, and burst out laughing: "What difference does it make if the restaurant is a few hours earlier than the customer?"

Bai Rou'er's face was deathly pale, her pearly teeth biting her lower lip, her eyes brimming with tears, making her look pitiful.

Zhang Fan held her hand: "Don't be afraid, I'm here."

After all, she was his first woman, and he wouldn't let anyone else bully her.

Bai Rou'er felt the strength Zhang Fan gave her, and her bent waist straightened up again.

The beer-bellied man snorted coldly: "No wonder the uncles are so aggressive. Your father is still sick. You should close the shop and go back to take care of him."

Bai Rou'er: "This is none of your business!"

The beer-bellied man sneered and winked at the people behind him. A moment later, one by one, the people from the restaurant walked up to Bai Rou'er.

"Miss Bai, I'm sorry, my child needs to go to school and I have to go back to take care of him."

"I have a family matter and can't go to work for the time being."

"My stomach is upset and I want to rest for a while."

...

The restaurant had a total of 30 employees, including chefs, supervisors, and waiters. All of them were gone, leaving only 3 employees: dishwashers and cleaners.

Bai Rou'er's face turned even paler, and her body swayed precariously, as if a gust of wind would cause her to fall.

Zhang Fan felt the small hand in his palm was as cold as snow, and it was trembling slightly. He didn't know if it was from anger or from being chilled by the betrayal of his employee.

Bai Rou'er glared at the departing employee: "Uncle Wen, when your hometown was hit by a disaster, you almost starved to death. It was my father who took you in."

“Brother Chen, your mother was sick and we didn’t have the money to treat her. We were about to give up when my father drove to your hometown overnight to bring her up for surgery. She’s lived for another ten years now.”

“Sister Zhang, you ran away from home because of domestic violence by your husband. My father will provide you with free accommodation so that you can have a house to take care of your child. When your child was supposed to enroll in school, you would have to pay the school selection fee, but my father used his connections to get it waived.”

"Brother Li, you've been a bachelor for life. It was my father who introduced you and your wife..."

“Brother Ji, when you didn’t have money to go to school, your dad lent you money to learn a skill.”

Everyone who was called on lowered their head in shame.

Bai Rou'er closed her eyes, her heart aching as if pierced by a needle. When she opened them again, her eyes were red and swollen: "Father never expects anything in return for kindness, but you treated him like this..."

Uncle Wen looked ashamed and said, "Miss, I'm sorry."

The beer-bellied man laughed loudly, his belly trembling with his laughter: "I say, Miss Bai, you can't blame them. After all, 'people die for money and birds die for food.' They all know this restaurant has no future, so it's normal for them to leave."

"We don't have a single employee right now, what are you going to do?"
