Just then, the police arrived.
Two policemen got out of the car; they were the same two policemen who had responded to a call in Zhangjiapo earlier.
They rushed to the roadside, looked down, and immediately took out their walkie-talkies to call for help.
The male police officer clicked his tongue: "This is bad, it'll be difficult to explain."
Policewoman: "I saw him fall while committing the crime. I just reported what I saw and that's all I needed to know."
The male police officer sighed: "You have connections, but I'm different. You still need to know how to navigate social situations."
The two exchanged very little, but Zhang Fan heard it all.
His scrutinizing gaze fell on the two faces, his eyes deep and thoughtful.
Wan'er walked over: "Officers, I want to turn myself in!"
The male police officer looked at Wan'er with surprise and said softly, "Do you know what you're saying?"
Wan'er nodded: "I know."
She glanced at Bai Rou'er: "She is a victim."
The policewoman took out handcuffs and fastened them on Wan'er: "Please come with us."
Male police officer: "I'm taking the prisoner back to the police station. You wait here for rescue."
The policewoman nodded, and Bai Rou'er followed her to the police station, with Zhang Fan going along as well.
As they were getting into the car, the policewoman reminded them, "Brother Liu, the bounty for Hu Jinhua has been issued. Could you please collect the money for her while you're at it?"
"Understood." Officer Liu replied perfunctorily, his face dark, and sped away.
