Chapter 51 Nonsense?

Zhao Lin was dressed in a black Tang suit, his hair was combed back, and he looked energetic and vigorous, not at all like a man who was almost 70 years old.

Especially his hawk-like eyes, which were full of competence.

She was wearing an ebony bracelet, which refracted tiny golden light in the sunlight.

Zhang Fan's gaze fell on the bracelet, which was surrounded by golden light spots. Upon closer inspection, he discovered that the bracelet possessed a vibrant spiritual power.

It's a good thing.

If I could get my hands on the bracelet, it would definitely be of great help to my spiritual practice.

Zhang Fan looked up at Zhao Lin. Zhao Lin was outwardly strong but inwardly weak; his core had long been hollowed out, leaving him powerless. To ordinary people, his energetic appearance was probably largely due to the bracelet.

The people in the car behind were shocked. They had known Zhao Lin for many years, but this was the first time they had ever seen him so excited.

These people ranged in age from fifty or sixty to forty, making it a senior citizen group.

Zhao Lin's face regained its composure as he looked at Zhang Fan: "Can we eat now?"

Zhang Fan nodded: "We'll have to wait a while."

"Okay, then we'll wait."

The others were even more shocked. Zhao Lin would actually wait for a meal?

Bai Rou'er greeted them with a smile and led them inside, while Zhao Lin went first.

The others exchanged bewildered glances. Had Zhao Lin been cursed?

Ji Zhi, who was pretending to be unconscious, suddenly woke up, opened his eyes, and caught up with the group.

Enraged, Wei Luo kicked forward suddenly.

It hit the tire of a BMW Q7 right off the bat.

"Beep beep~" The BMW Q7 sounded an alarm.

Wei Luo was so frightened that he backed away repeatedly. Ji Zhi secretly stuck out his foot, and Wei Luo tripped and fell to the ground with a thud, wincing in pain.

He opened his mouth to start cursing, but Ji Zhi's icy gaze silenced him.

Ji Zhi glared at Wei Luo fiercely, then turned and walked into the restaurant.

As Zhao Lin's personal assistant, he had absolutely no idea what Zhao Lin was thinking.

He quietly approached the secretary and asked, "Sister Chen, what does the boss mean now?"

Chen Yao didn't even lift his eyelids, his voice icy: "Don't ask what you shouldn't ask."

...

Inside a private room on the third floor of the Kelai Restaurant.

Zhao Lin sat in the main seat, playing with an ebony bracelet. Four men sat on his left and right sides, and Zhao Lin's secretary stood behind him.

No one spoke, and the air was somewhat heavy.

The four exchanged glances, none of them knowing what Zhao Lin was thinking.

Zhao Lin is acting very strangely today. Some people say he won't live long, but he didn't get angry.

"Boss Zhao, is today's fish really Shiyan fish?" Huang Yan, sitting to Zhao Lin's left, asked.

Huangyan is the second richest place in Jiangcheng.

He was determined to surpass Zhao Lin, but after decades of effort, he still failed.

Zhao Lin's expression remained calm as he slowly and deliberately played with the ebony bracelet, saying in a composed voice, "You'll know once you eat it."

After saying that, he didn't speak again, and the private room became quiet once more.

The atmosphere became heavy again, until Huang Yan finally broke the deadlock.

Once he started talking, everyone started chattering away, and the atmosphere became lively.

The others were all flattering Huang Yan, which pleased him greatly. He glanced at Zhao Lin with a smug look.

Zhao Lin simply fiddled with his prayer beads and listened quietly, without uttering a single word.

Huang Yan became more and more excited as he talked, completely losing track of time. It wasn't until his throat went dry and his voice became hoarse that he realized an hour had passed.

Zhao Lin remained seated in his chair, repeating the motions of handling his prayer beads.

Huang Yan frowned slightly: "We've been waiting for so long and the food still hasn't arrived. My stomach is growling. How about we go somewhere else to eat?"

Zhao Lin finally spoke: "Let's wait a little longer."

Huang Yan's doubts deepened; Zhao Lin was behaving too strangely.

If this had happened before, Zhao Lin would have already stormed off. But today, after being scolded, he's still calmly waiting.

Is the rockfish really that delicious? Or is there something wrong with Zhao Lin's health?

Huang Yan suspiciously glanced at Zhao Lin, but saw that the other man's complexion was rosy and he did not look sick.

Could this fish really have such great appeal?

"The fish feast is here."

Bai Rou'er wore a black uniform, her hair neatly tied back. The form-fitting uniform accentuated her graceful figure, and the short skirt that barely covered her thighs made her slender legs appear even longer.

She pushed the food delivery cart slowly into the private room.

However, her shapely figure was completely hidden by the stroller, and only Zhang Fan, who was following behind, could see it clearly.

Zhang Fan went to serve the dishes, while Huang Yan was starving and thirsty, his throat parched. There wasn't even anyone to serve tea, and his temper was flaring up: "Why did it take so long?"

Bai Rou'er had been helping out in the kitchen. She originally wanted to pour tea for Zhao Lin and the others, but Zhang Fan told her to stay in the kitchen, saying that Zhao Lin and the others wouldn't leave.

She had been feeling uneasy, afraid of offending anyone, but when she entered the private room, everyone was there.

Huang Yan's complaint still made Bai Rou'er's heart skip a beat. Just as she was about to explain, she heard Zhang Fan say, "You'd better shut up, or the cyst in your throat will burst."

"Nonsense!"

Huang Yan was already furious, and upon hearing this, his anger intensified, and his tone became even harsher.

Zhao Lin said calmly, "Let's eat first."

With the richest man having spoken, no one else dared to disobey, and could only suppress their anger and go to eat the fish feast.

With one bite, Huang Yan's tightly furrowed brows instantly relaxed: "This fish..."

Bai Rou'er stared at Huang Yan nervously, afraid that he would say something inappropriate.

She couldn't cook, so Zhang Fan had to do it.

Although she thought Zhang Fan was a good cook, she didn't know if others would agree.

"Truly a delicacy." Huang Yan squinted his eyes contentedly.

Others couldn't help but give it a thumbs up: "This is worth waiting a whole day for!"

A group of bosses who had eaten all sorts of delicacies were now wolfing down their food as if they hadn't eaten meat in six months.

They ate the meat one chopstick after another, and soon the bowl was empty.

Noticing the intense gaze, Zhang Fan turned his head and saw Bai Rou'er looking at him with a happy and adoring smile on her face.

Zhang Fan was already used to this kind of look. His gaze swept over everyone and landed on Zhao Lin.

Zhao Lin remained as calm as ever, though he seemed somewhat distracted during the meal.

Zhao Lin happened to look over and gave Zhang Fan a faint smile.

After a satisfying meal, Huang Yan patted his belly, but his anger hadn't subsided. With his round belly protruding, he said, "Your service is terrible."

Zhang Fan's voice was icy: "You'd better shut up, or you'll vomit blood right now."

Anyone with a normal heart would find this unbearable. Huang Yan slammed his fist on the table and shouted, "Nonsense!"

As soon as he finished speaking, he vomited, and when he raised his head again, a trace of blood oozed from the corner of his mouth.
