Chapter 34 Mizutani Falls into the Net
Those who came away empty-handed from the auction naturally wouldn't linger there, and besides, the auction organizers wouldn't allow them to stay either.
After all, this place still needs to be kept secret; the longer the Saniwa disappears, the more suspicious it will become.
"I'm going to Akashi Kuniyuki's place. Are you... able to clean up the people here?"
Han Zhou's gaze towards Yu Yuwu and Qing Ye carried a strong sense of pressure, along with a hint of scrutiny.
She has sealed off the entire auction venue; no one can leave without her permission. Sword spirits, naturally, feel no guilt about eliminating scum. After all, swords are murder weapons.
But fighting among their own kind is a different story. Have these two people been mentally prepared for this?
Qingye gripped the sword at his side, his gaze resolute, his face showing no hesitation.
"Don't worry, I won't hesitate."
Yu Yuwu clenched her fists tightly, resisting the killing and meaningless bloodshed. But these people deserved to die.
"I understand, and I will not let you down."
Even if she wasn't particularly strong in combat, the skills Master Hanzhou had taught her should be enough to handle the current situation.
"Then let's split up. Tsurumaru, you go and capture Mizutani alive. Then we'll meet up at the auction stage."
"Mission accomplished!"
After Tsurumaru Kuninaga responded, his figure vanished from sight like a light and agile white crane.
Han Zhou left with Ran Toushirou. Qing Ye and Yu Yuwu exchanged a glance before leaving with their respective tsukumogami. Not a single person in this venue could remain.
This massive cancer must be eradicated completely; any survivors will be exposed to the enemy.
Da, da, da
The crisp sound of wooden clogs on the floor seemed to the staff on site like a waltz of death. The bow and arrows, forged from divine power, were a deadly poison to all that was impure in the world. Each golden arrow that left the bowstring rang with a sharp, piercing sound.
What followed was the dull thud of an arrow piercing flesh.
Ran Toushirou, wielding a short sword, stood behind Hanshu, dealing with those attempting to ambush him from behind. When his smile vanished and he brandished his sword, the sharp, ruthless aura of a sword spirit would immediately emanate from him.
Human reaction speed alone is no match for that of a tsukumogami. Blood blossomed before Ran Toushirou's eyes; the short swordsman, skilled in close combat, inevitably stained that sweet and lovely face with blood.
It looks bizarre and absurd.
The corridor was littered with corpses, blood splattered on the walls, and the blood on the floor had left the entire corridor completely untouched and unwashable.
After confirming there were no survivors, Ran Toushirou wiped the blood off his sword and sheathed it. Seeing the unavoidable bloodstains on his battle uniform, he instinctively whined at Hanshu.
"My lord—my clothes are stained with blood, how disgusting!"
After saying that, he looked disdainfully at the river of blood at his feet. If there had been a place to step, he wouldn't have waded across it!
There were a few bloodstains on the hem of Hanshu's kimono, but she didn't seem to care much. She turned around when she heard Ran Toushirou's coquettish voice.
Noticing that the other party didn't seem to have noticed the blood splattered on his cheek during the recent fight, Han Zhou waved to Luan.
As the other person approached with a puzzled expression, she reached out and gently wiped the blood from Ran Toushirou's face with the wide sleeve of her kimono.
A conspicuous bloodstain was left on the sleeve of the blue kimono. After wiping Ran Toushirou's cheek clean, Hanshu began to respond to the other's earlier coquettish words.
"Once we get back to the citadel, let's go find the swords from the Lai faction first."
At the end of this corridor is the place where sword spirits are kept. The three swords sent by the sect must have already noticed the strong smell of blood.
Akashi Kuniyuki is a sword branded for his "lack of motivation," but in reality, he takes everything he sets his mind to very seriously. He's just a bit lazy at times.
He was no longer the lazy, indifferent person he usually was. He watched the doorway warily, shielding Aishi Kunitoshi and Hotarumaru behind him.
Their original bodies have been taken away; they're not actually on them anymore. But they're not truly helpless lambs to the slaughter anymore.
Squeak—
The moment the door was pushed open, Akashi Kuniyuki's vigilance was at its peak. But what he didn't expect was a short sword coming into view.
"Oh! Mr. Akashi, so you've been here all along."
Ran Toushirou greeted the stunned Akashi Kuniyuki with a smile, while Aishi Kunitoshi, who was being protected behind him, peeked out upon hearing the familiar voice.
Wow! It's a mess!
The joy in my heart had no time to rise before it was replaced by the sorrow that followed.
"Ran, what are you doing here?! Could it be?!" Before Ai Qi Kunitoshi could finish his sentence, Han Zhou appeared behind Ran Toushirou.
"Tsurumaru has captured Mizutani, and Aoyama and Miyugiri have dealt with all the remaining survivors."
"Isn't that because we're the slowest?"
Ran Toushirou puffed out his cheeks, staring at the cages holding the three Future Generation members. A rage ignited in his azure eyes.
Han Zhou stepped into the room, her wooden clogs leaving blood-red footprints with each step. Golden light clung to the cage, easily shattering it.
"It's chaotic, there's no point in comparing them."
Han Zhou's tone was clearly helpless; she had returned the original body of the Future Squad to them.
"Please come with me first."
Facing the indifferent Hanshu, Akashi Kuniyuki dared not lower his guard. Ever since he obtained the main body, his hand had never left the hilt of the sword.
This attitude was perfectly normal, just like how Ran and Mori were at the beginning. After confirming Tsurumaru's condition, he teleported with the tsukumogami.
"Tsurumaru Kuninaga?! What are you doing here?!"
Mizutani's hands and feet are now bound by ropes by Tsurumaru Kuninaga, making him completely unable to move.
When Qingye and Yuyuwu arrived with their respective tsukumogami, they saw Mizutani attempting to use an array to escape his predicament.
Tsurumaru Kuninaga didn't understand formations, but Qingye and Yuyugiri did. The two joined forces to use a formation to suppress Mizutani's spiritual power, leaving him no chance of escape.
"It seems Lord Hanzhou will need some more time."
As Qingye spoke, he walked to Tsurumaru Kuninaga's side, looked at Mizutani who was trapped and lying on the ground, and let out a sneer.
"A stray dog"
"What did you say?!"
Yu Yuwu coldly observed Mizutani's disgraceful behavior. Standing beside her was the short sword Xiaoye, whose blue kasaya still bore traces of blood.
Why did you collude with the Time Travel Army?
Upon hearing the question about the rain mist, Mizutani looked in the direction of the voice, his tone full of sarcasm and contempt.
"It's simply a matter of each getting what they want."
"Yu Yuwu, leave the interrogation to me."
Han Zhou's figure suddenly appeared beside Tsurumaru Kuninaga.
Those pale golden eyes looked down at Mizutani, their cold, indifferent gaze piercing through Mizutani's very soul.
Blasphemy comes at a price.
