Chapter 6 Hidden Space
Han Zhou watched as Kashuu Kiyomitsu was overjoyed at having bought something he liked, and a slight smile appeared on his lips where the other could not see.
——Honmaru——
The four sword spirits responsible for guarding the house, looking at the mountain of packages in front of them, all fell into deep thought.
Looking at the pile of stuff in front of him, Yagen felt a headache coming on and sighed, rubbing his forehead. "How much did the General buy?"
"Little Tiger, no!" Gokoto quickly stepped forward to stop the little tigers who were curiously fiddling with the packages, but he couldn't stop their curiosity.
He had just brought one home when another slipped away from his feet.
"Wow, the patriarch is really rich," Higekiri sighed, looking at the mountain of packages, and couldn't help but recall the time a thousand years ago when Hanshu owned them.
“Brother, back when we were still swords, the items the patriarch used to maintain us were all top-of-the-line.” Hizamaru looked at the list and realized it was all clothes. And… clothes for all the swords of the Time Government at present.
There are only a few people in their citadel!
After a flash of golden light, Qingguang and Hanzhou returned. They also noticed the piles of packages displayed in the courtyard.
"Wow, this much?" Han Zhou realized he hadn't bought much, and there was no way he could let just a few of them carry all this stuff.
She took out several sheets of white paper from her bosom, and after drawing golden spirit patterns on them, several shikigami with their faces covered by the white paper appeared.
The shikigami are all in the form of ordinary women, but their power comes from Hanzhou, so they are not bad in terms of strength or attack power.
They wore light blue Hanfu, and their hair varied in length. They didn't look like shikigami; if it weren't for the obvious puppet joints on their bodies, some people might mistake them for real people.
"Kiyomitsu, the task of moving things will be handled by the shikigami. Pick out all your clothes first, and hang the rest in a separate room."
After giving her instructions, she went to the forging room to awaken the swords.
Looking at the swords forged by Higekiri and Hizamaru, none of them were ones she had ever used, but… one of these two katana had once belonged to the Hosokawa family, and the other had been bestowed upon the Kuroda family by Oda Nobunaga. She had glanced at them a few times when she passed by.
"My name is Hirano Toushirou! Please leave the work of my attendant to me."
"My name is Maeda Toushirou. I will serve you forever."*
"I am Kasen Kanesada. A scholar of refined arts and literature. Please guide me."*
"I am Hasebe Heshikiri. Whatever my lord commands, I will carry it out for you."
The four knives appeared one after another, two short and two long.
After listening to their self-introductions, Han Zhou nodded and replied, "I am Han Zhou, welcome to the Honmaru. Please come with me for a moment."
Han Zhou's indifferent attitude made the swords uneasy. The four swords exchanged glances and followed Han Zhou. Kasen Kanesada wondered if it was just his imagination, but he felt as if he had seen his lord somewhere before.
Not only him, but Hasebe Shikiri also felt the same way. After hesitating for a long time, he tentatively asked...
"My lord, haven't we... met somewhere before?"
Upon hearing Hasebe's words, Kanshu turned around and looked at him with slight surprise.
"I did see you a few times when you were at the Kuroda family. I didn't expect you to remember?"
"So it wasn't just my imagination? I had the same feeling." Kasen Kanesada asked in unison.
Han Zhou nodded, confirming Kasen's words. But he didn't give a reason why she went to the Kuroda and Hosokawa families, or even... why she was still alive?
Upon seeing Han Zhou's medicine, he immediately stepped forward and sighed.
"General, you don't need to buy so many clothes."
"One set to wear, one set to change into, and one set as a spare. Is that a lot?" Han Zhou remained undeterred in her decision to buy clothes.
"Yagen-ni!"
Hirano and Maeda noticed their older brother ahead and immediately went to him.
"Oh! It's Hirano and Maeda, welcome." Yagen patted his two younger brothers on the head, then turned his gaze to the shikigami busily working in the courtyard.
"Pick out the clothes for Hirano, Maeda, Kasen, and Hasebe," Hanshu ordered the shikigami directly. The clothes were quickly taken by one of the short-haired shikigami.
"So it can understand what I'm saying?" Hirano looked at the shikigami in front of him with surprise and curiosity.
“Well, I rarely use shikigami. But… there are too few people in the citadel now, so I should use them.” Han Zhou handed them the clothes.
"You must be quite skilled at cooking, right, Song Immortal? Can I leave the cooking to you for now?"
"Alright, how many people are there in the citadel now?" Kasen asked, knowing the number would help him decide how much food to prepare.
"Including me, there are ten people in total. I'll send one of my shikigami to help you." She looked at Yagen as she said this.
"Take Hirano and Maeda to collect some household supplies, and air out the sheets and blankets. Then call Kiyomitsu to my office."
As soon as he finished speaking, Hasebe stepped forward, his expression serious.
"My lord, is there anything I can help you with?"
Thinking of the things on her desk, she didn't refuse Hasebe's offer.
"Come to my office with me."
Several people who had been assigned tasks left one after another, as there was a lot to do in this new citadel.
--office--
Upon entering, Hasebe saw the semi-transparent time-space detector and the bookshelves filling the entire office. Han Zhou, seeing the flashing red dot on it, frowned slightly.
Spacetime distortion has occurred again.
Fortunately, it wasn't particularly urgent, giving the spirit enough time to finish its meal before going.
"Hasebe, come help me sort the files, according to their urgency."
"Yes, Aruji!"
This is the first task the host gave me! I must complete it perfectly!!!
Flames erupted behind Hasebe.
Because Kashuu Kiyomitsu was coming over later, the office door was ajar; one could easily push it open to enter. While Hasebe was sorting the items, Kanshu worked alongside him.
The atmosphere was harmonious, except for the annoying red light flashing around us.
“Aruki, this…” Hasebe hesitated, looking at the spacetime detector whose red light was flashing more and more rapidly.
Han Zhou looked up and saw the red light flashing rapidly, but in her perception, the spatial distortion wasn't that severe. She naturally had no doubt about her abilities.
Is this... a machine malfunction? Or is the Time Government manipulating things behind the scenes to urge the sword spirits to go into battle?
Hasebe knew this was a sign of a time-traveling army appearing in a time warp, and originally intended to send swordsmen into battle, but his lord didn't seem to have any intention of sending them out immediately.
But the red light flashed too quickly, so Hasebe could only give a slight reminder to Kanzuru, who was busy processing documents.
He assumed his lord would immediately send reinforcements, but Han Zhou simply waved his hand and shut down the time-space detector. His strategy was "out of sight, out of mind."
Hasebe: ...Is this really a good idea? No! The lord's decisions are never wrong!
After convincing myself, I went back to work.
Thump thump thump—
"I'm coming in, Aruji!"
Kashuu Kiyomitsu's voice came from outside the door. Although he knew that Kanshu had left the door open for him, he still knocked to let them know.
"Come in, help me with these documents." Han Zhou handed him some simple documents, then took out a blank deployment schedule.
"After you finish eating, you'll probably be heading out on your mission. You'll be leading the team this time."
"Me?" Kashuu Kiyomitsu pointed to himself, then smiled under Han Zhou's gaze. "Leave it to me, I won't let you down."
Besides him, the remaining five people are:
Hirano Toushirou, Maeda Toushirou, Gokotai, Shishikiri Hasebe, Kasen Kanesada
