Chapter 68 Ranluo Unsealed
The seal cannot be broken in the main hall. The White Fox clan possesses immense power, and the moment the seal is broken, a powerful energy wave will be generated. At that moment, not only the main hall but also the surrounding buildings might collapse.
Beneath the myriad cherry blossoms, Yu Yuwu, Qingye, and a group of swordsmen stood at a distance, watching.
Han Zhou, seeing Ran Luo looking around nervously, teased, "Nervous now? You really showed off your skills just now."
Ranlu blushed and coughed awkwardly twice. "Those were my heartfelt words!"
Seeing that Ranluo was no longer as nervous as before, Hanzhou walked up to her, her fingertips glowing with a pale golden light. As her fingers lightly touched Ranluo's brow, a complex sealing pattern appeared on Ranluo's forehead.
"There might be some discomfort," Han Zhou whispered, the light at his fingertips suddenly intensifying.
Ranlu gritted her teeth, beads of sweat forming on her forehead. She could feel a scorching power breaking through her long-standing constraints. The instant the seal shattered, a dazzling light erupted from her body, a fluffy white fox tail appeared behind her, and a pair of snow-white fox ears sprouted from her head.
The round pupils that were originally human had turned into vertical pupils like those of a beast. Ranluo looked at the tail behind her with a bit of a daze, and when she reached out to touch her ear, she felt a tingling sensation. If Hanzhou hadn't caught her, she would have tripped over her own feet and fallen to the ground, making a fool of herself.
"Ranluo, you must remember that only lovers and family members can touch a white fox's ears. Only those close to it can touch its tail," Hanzhou explained to the young fox, whose parents had died young, the basics of being a fox spirit.
Yu Yuwu and Qingye watched the two figures, one large and one small, standing side by side from afar, gentle smiles appearing on their faces.
"Learn to control it." Han Zhou took a step back. "Try to restrain your power."
Under Han Zhou's guidance, Ran Luo gradually mastered how to retract her tail and ears at will. When she finally managed to retract them, Han Zhou smiled with satisfaction, gently placed his hand on Ran Luo's hair, and said in a gentle tone, "Well done."
"Of course!" Ranluo smiled and raised her head, her smile radiating confidence.
Before the three major families made their move, Ranluo, under Hanzhou's guidance, gradually mastered the innate abilities of the White Fox clan. Her eyes could now see through the flow of spiritual energy within the array, thus finding the array's core. Meanwhile, the swords were familiarizing themselves with the power bestowed by Heaven, golden light often flowing across their blades.
Standing beneath the Manyo cherry blossoms, Mikazuki Munechika, the katana in his hand gleaming faintly, murmured, "Truly incredible power."
“But it can only be used once.” Yagen Toushirou adjusted his glasses. “Lord Tendo said that this power will disappear after the evil god statue is shattered.”
This power, derived from the rules, is merely a manifestation of the spirits of swords and cannot be possessed for long.
Tsurumaru Kuninaga chuckled and brandished his sword: "Even if it's just once, it's enough to be able to help my lord!"
The swords exchanged smiles, naturally agreeing with Tsurumaru Kuninaga's words. Their strength was meant to help their lord.
Before being sealed away, Han Zhou had a premonition. He warned everyone beforehand, but even those who were mentally prepared found that the unease in their hearts hadn't subsided. Looking at the silent swords and the Saniwa, Han Zhou reached out and lightly tapped the low table in front of him; the crisp sound broke the silence.
Han Zhou offered little comfort, only a simple, "I'll wait for you to break the seal and take me home."
Upon hearing the word "home," Ranluo's eyes immediately welled up with tears: "We...we will definitely...take you home!"
"My lord, we will definitely break the seal!"
"Rest assured, General."
"Qingye and I will do everything we can to provide any assistance."
......
After Ranluo's shout, the scene became somewhat noisy. But Hanzhou didn't dislike the atmosphere; a gentle smile curved her lips. This gentle smile was noticed by everyone present.
I believe in you.
Who can take me home
at the same time
The three major families were shrouded in a thick veil of vengeful spirits, but the three family heads remained unperturbed, for these spirits were deliberately collected by them. These were all spirit practitioners who had died unjustly, most of them former Saniwa (spirit masters) who had served the three families, and these vengeful spirits would become part of the formation.
The three major families were now deathly silent, filled with soaring resentment and incessant, mournful wails. Countless translucent vengeful spirits twisted and swirled in the air. Most of them retained their clothes and appearances from their previous lives, but now they were bound by an invisible force, their pain and resentment constantly being drawn out and amplified, forming an unyielding flow of dark energy.
Gu Yu Feiyue crossed her arms and coldly observed the scene before her, her expression unchanged: "They really went all out."
The power of these vengeful spirits will be divided into two parts: 60% will be used to reinforce the seal on the Cold Boat, and the remaining 40% will be used to maintain the evil god statue and set up an array around it, ensuring that any trespassers will never return.
Seeing that the energy had been collected, Morikawa Kino left without looking back. Before leaving, Qishan Yue couldn't help but give Gu Yu Feiyue a mocking smile.
Gu Yu Feiyue couldn't care less about the attitudes of these two. The relationships between the heads of the three major families across generations were never good; the only thing maintaining their 'friendship' was unchanging self-interest. If there weren't no benefits to be gained, they wouldn't even bother with the pretense of friendship.
Hanshu, inside the citadel, could already sense the dark power emanating from it. Worried, her swords circled her closely. There was still some time before it was sealed away. Hanshu looked at the three swords she had purified.
"I'm sorry, we've only been here a short time and we're already getting you into trouble."
"You flatter me. If it weren't for our lord's help, we would have become monsters by now." Taro Tachi sat upright, radiating a pure aura, completely unlike his previous appearance, which was shrouded in foulness.
“Big brother is right!” Jirotachi winked playfully at Hanzhou. “Besides… I’m very curious about the lord’s peach blossom wine; I’ve never tasted it before!”
As one of the sword spirits who enjoys drinking, he hasn't been in the citadel for long, but he's already learned about the peach blossom wine that Kanzuru brews himself, and his other home, which is different from the citadel, from others. He's very curious about all of this.
Juzumaru and Namazumi Aoe sat side by side, the former slightly raising his head to "gaze" towards Hansho's position, "willing to do my part."
Han Zhou gazed at the faces of the swords, hoping that the time they were sealed wouldn't be too agonizing. Just as she drifted off into thought, she keenly sensed a powerful pulling sensation; a violent force seemed poised to tear her body apart at any moment.
"I must leave for now," Han Zhou said simply, glancing at the swordsmen whose faces showed reluctance and worry. She gave a slightly inappropriate chuckle, even though her current situation wasn't exactly good.
The black resentment swirling around her couldn't get close because of her power, but it kept trying to break through her defenses. Golden and black powers intertwined, flickering in and out of focus, but only Han Zhou's composed figure remained unchanged.
"Don't worry," Han Zhou said, comforting the sword despite being the one who was sealed away. Thinking this, his smile widened. "Also, be careful in everything. Your own safety is paramount."
Even if she fails, it's okay; she can break the seal herself. So, there's no need to feel too much pressure.
Those who understood the unspoken meaning in Han Zhou's words had tears welling up in their eyes, and some of the short swords even shed tears. In the hazy light, that familiar figure had already disappeared from their sight.
"We must bring our lord back!" Hasebe Shikiri spoke first.
"We must rescue our lord!"
"Yes! I... I will do my best!"
