Chapter 252 The Higher You Climb, the Colder It Gets

Yinreng followed Tong Wanyan back to the yurt with a panic in his heart. There was a vase on the low table with a fresh bouquet of flowers in it.

Beautiful flowers always bring joy, and Yinreng was no exception.

He took a deep breath, and the fragrance of flowers filled his nostrils, relaxing his mind.

Suddenly, the moment the curtain fell, he bent down, picked up Tong Wanyan, and gently carried her to the bed.

"My darling, I was wrong. I shouldn't have risked my life and made you worry," Yinreng said pitifully and sincerely, pressing down on him.

He deliberately used a childish voice, his eyes constantly flashing seductive glances, hoping to escape unscathed by using his beauty and innocent appearance.

Tong Wanyan sneered and stretched out one arm to push him away.

"I'm not worried." Tong Wanyan wasn't buying his trick.

A baby's sweet voice sounds cute at first, but it gets old after a while. Not to mention there are two real babies at home, and those sweet little voices are what truly melt your heart.

When one plan failed, Yinreng devised another.

His voice was deep, his arm pressed down on the bed again, his body and face close to Tong Wanyan's, his eyes deep and affectionate: "My darling, I know you feel sorry for me."

Tong Wanyan grabbed the person and pulled them off the bed: "Stand up straight against the cabinet."

Yinreng stood up straight obediently, bewildered, ready to receive a reprimand.

"When did Master start reading storybooks? I always thought Xia Zhu and the others were just flipping through them for fun because the books in the bookcase were sometimes misplaced. I never imagined that Master had this hobby in his spare time," Tong Wanyan said.

Yinreng lowered his eyes and remained silent. His long, curled black eyelashes trembled slightly, making one feel a pang of pity.

"Xiao Yan, I wanted to know what you liked, so I looked through the storybooks you often read. As for today's matter, punish me however you like, just don't upset yourself." Seeing that he couldn't avoid it, Yinreng willingly chose to accept the punishment.

It's so dark now, at most we can make him do a horse stance or go out for a couple of laps.

Yinreng clenched his fists tightly, gathering his strength to test his physical endurance. He felt he could withstand it.

Tong Wanyan took in all his movements, looking at him with a smile, but remained silent.

Just as Yinreng began to panic and his eyes darted around, she said, "Your Highness, sleep on the floor tonight. There are two quilts in the trunk. One thick one can be laid on the floor, and the other thin one can be used as a blanket. That will be just right."

Yinreng's feigned composure immediately cracked.

"My darling, I don't want to sleep in a separate bed from you." Yinreng felt that he was a young man with strong desires, and he must hold his wife while sleeping at night.

Tong Wanyan shook her head firmly, her face showing an undeniable refusal.

"My lord, a gentleman's word is as good as his bond. You just said you were willing to risk your life and be punished, and now, before the words have even faded, are you going to go back on your word?" Tong Wanyan said, her brows furrowed and her eyes brimming with tears.

Yinreng couldn't bear to see Tong Wanyan cry, and he shook his head like a rattle drum: "No regrets, no regrets."

“You’re a real man, a man of principle, and you’ll always keep your word. I’m not worried about you breaking your promise and sneaking into my bed in the middle of the night. After a day in the woods, I feel a little unclean. Let’s take a bath together, sir,” Tong Wanyan said with a smile.

Yinreng nodded happily, knowing that his darling wouldn't bully him too much.

Look, now they even know to offer him a way out, to give him a way out.

"Alright, alright, I'll scrub your back and serve you a bath." Yinreng smiled genuinely, his eyes radiating joy.

Tong Wanyan raised her eyebrows in surprise: "Master, you misunderstand. Mongolia wouldn't be so harsh on us. There are plenty of bath tubs and water. We can each have our own yurt, so we won't bother each other."

"I don't mind taking a little longer, and washing slowly," Yinreng said in a desperate attempt to secure his own benefit.

Tong Wanyan took two steps forward, turned around and smiled: "I mind."

Yinreng dejectedly summoned Deshun to serve him a bath.

Tong Wanyan called Xia Zhu over, and the two of them went into the yurt where the bath tub was placed.

Xia Zhu chuckled and said, "Master, I accidentally glanced at you just now, and your face almost distorted."

Such a handsome face, distorted by her master's anger. Her master is truly formidable.

Tong Wanyan snorted: "Didn't you see how your master's hands trembled with fear when I found out? Serves him right!"

Yinreng, who was passing by the yurt, clearly heard the word "should".

He even suspected that Tong Wanyan might know he had come here and was saying it on purpose.

"Hurry up." Yinreng took bigger steps and quickly walked past the yurt.

De Shun wore a submissive smile and adjusted his pace to match Yinreng's.

The servants who served him so closely had reached the pinnacle of their abilities. No wonder Yinreng valued him so highly.

Tong Wanyan kept her word. Whether Yinreng was showing off his smooth abdominal muscles by candlelight after taking a bath and returning to his yurt, or casually puffing out his two big pectoral muscles, Tong Wanyan kept her eyes straight ahead and remained unmoved by his presence, as if she were a saint.

She lay in bed, pulled the blanket over her face, and fell fast asleep.

Actually, she was pretending to be asleep at first.

However, Yinreng took it upon himself to have Chunque light some calming incense in advance, and Tong Wanyan, who was exhausted after a long day, soon fell into a deep sleep.

She was exhausted and terrified today, and then the barbecue at the dinner party was so delicious that she ate until she was stuffed.

People who are overly tired are more likely to snore when they fall asleep.

Even a celestial being like Tong Wanyan is no exception.

She was snoring softly, her voice so gentle it was strangely endearing.

With no one in his arms and unable to sleep alone, Yinreng shook the blankets and got out of bed.
