Chapter 268 The Abandoned Fourth Uncle

Tong Wanyan was jealous, but Yinreng was not.

He was happy to have someone raise his daughter for him, since the only person he truly loved was the one beside him.

Yinreng clearly distinguished between the mother and the child.

“Good girl, it’s a good thing that Fourth Brother is helping us. With Tana’s mischievousness, if Fourth Brother didn’t coax her, Yuqing Palace would be turned upside down by her.” Yinreng whispered.

The two of them whispered to each other, and Tana also whispered to Yinzhen.

"Fourth Uncle, I just said I was going to pick Father's favorite flower, and Father heard me. You must save me!" Tana's chubby little face pressed against Yinzhen's face, soft and yielding.

Yinzhen held her and bounced her around to make her more comfortable in his arms: "With your fourth uncle here, Tana doesn't need to worry."

“Fourth Uncle is the best,” Tana said cheerfully.

She accidentally shouted too loudly and quickly looked cautiously at Yinreng.

Her father is the fiercest and most dangerous person, and even her fourth uncle has to be careful.

Yinreng deliberately kept a straight face, but seeing Tana looking pitiful nestled in Yinzhen's arms, he couldn't help but want to laugh.

Yinzhen, who claimed to have come to save his eldest niece from dire straits, puffed out his chest and said to Yinreng, "Second brother, I'm taking Tana and Hongzhao out to play. Would you and your second sister-in-law like to come along?"

Yinreng raised an eyebrow: "Tana and Hongzhao just made a mistake, and I am punishing them."

“Tana and Hongzhao are young, so punishing them by making them stand facing the wall in self-reflection won’t do any good. It would be better to reduce their snacks by a meal so they can remember their mistakes,” Yinzhen said.

Tana and Hongzhao's expectant faces immediately turned into bitter faces. Tana sadly tugged at Yinzhen's sleeve: "Fourth Uncle, Tana is going to face the wall and reflect on her mistakes. Don't deduct any snacks from her."

The flesh on their bodies didn't grow out of thin air; it was all accumulated from countless snacks, with not a single bit wasted.

For them, facing the wall in self-reflection was simply sitting in front of a wall; they could go about their business as usual, without any impact whatsoever. But how sad it was that they couldn't eat those delicious snacks!

Tana and Hongzhao looked up hesitantly at Yinzhen, then at Yinreng, and finally at Tong Wanyan.

“Mother, Hongzhao is so good, he’ll pick some flowers for you.” Hongzhao, who had been praised by Emperor Kangxi for his innate intelligence countless times, looked up at Tong Wanyan and smiled happily, revealing his tiny teeth.

Tong Wanyan couldn't keep up the act any longer; she knew she had to love her own son.

"Mother knows that Hongzhao and Tana didn't do it on purpose, but those flowers are your father's beloved possessions. You can't eat snacks because it hurts you, but wouldn't it hurt if your father lost the flowers he worked so hard to grow? There are so many beautiful flowers in the garden, and if all else fails, there's the Imperial Garden, with thousands of varieties of flowers, enough for you to choose from." Tong Wanyan gently taught the two children.

Although the child is still young, they should never be allowed to wantonly destroy other people's beloved things just because they are young and pampered.

Hongzhao and Tana seemed to be deep in thought, and obediently nodded to listen to the instruction.

Tana struggled to get down from Yinzhen's arms and stood on the ground, bowing to Yinreng and admitting her mistake together with Hongzhao.

Yinreng wasn't angry at all; his occasional youthful impulses made him find it amusing to bully his daughter and son.

However, it would be even better if they could also become more sensible.

"Then Father will punish you by making you skip one snack. Do you accept the punishment?" Yinreng asked.

“We acknowledge it,” Tana and Hongzhao said.

If a child is too well-behaved, they'll feel guilty if you try to bully them.

Yinreng was silent for a moment, then said, "You should have been punished, but since you didn't pick the flowers, you stopped the mistake in time. Half of today's snacks will be deducted, is that alright?"

It's such a wonderful surprise to find something you've lost.

Tana pounced on Yinreng's lap, and Hongzhao did the same: "Father is the best!"

Yinzhen, who had just been praised as "the best fourth uncle," felt a pang of sadness. His eldest niece had abandoned him too quickly, without even trying to hide it.

Heartbreaking! Yinzhen silently clutched his chest.
