Chapter 406 Barely Acceptable

Tana knew what was going on; she had been feeling uneasy ever since the journey back to Beijing.

She clearly had her eye on him, so why did others see her as a cabbage that had been eaten by a pig?

Oh, how sad! The little princess of the Eastern Palace, who has only known joy since birth, has reached the age where she knows the taste of sorrow.

“Father, you have to persuade Fourth Uncle. After all, our daughter can choose another husband, but Fourth Uncle can’t be upset,” Tana said, her heart leaning towards him.

Upon hearing this, Yinzhen, who had rushed over in a great hurry, looked much better, his dark complexion softening considerably.

He exchanged a glance with Yinreng and his wife from afar, and a slightly smug smile appeared on his lips.

The little girl he raised with all his heart, his most beloved niece, was indeed the most filial to him.

Yinreng turned his head to Tong Wanyan and said, "My teeth ache."

Tana blinked, not turning around, unaware that Yinzhen had already arrived.

“Father, are you getting old and your teeth aren’t as good anymore? Xuan Niao doesn’t enjoy eating pine nuts anymore; Ji Xiang has to peel them for him and give him a bowl of pine nuts,” Tana said.

Yinreng's head also started to ache: "Don't mention that parrot. You all spoil it all the time, and it dares to imitate all sorts of nonsense. It should be given the title of the number one tyrant in the palace."

“But Mother likes it. The black bird pleases Mother; every day before dawn it goes to the Imperial Garden to bring Mother a flower, still covered in dew, and places it on the windowsill. What’s wrong with indulging it with such thoughtfulness?” Tana defended.

Yinzhen chuckled, "That cockatiel is indeed clever. It says a lot of nonsense, but not a single word of it is disrespectful. Even Father Emperor likes it. How come such a clever bird can't get along with Second Brother at all?"

It's not just that they don't get along; if a person and a bird were to share a room, it would surely cause chaos and disorder.

Tana turned around in surprise and skipped over to Yinzhen.

"I've never seen my fourth uncle for so long. Fourth uncle, I've missed you so much." Tana smiled broadly, her radiant smile brightening everyone's mood.

Yinzhen deliberately kept a straight face, but his eyes were very gentle: "Aren't you thinking about the young prince of Khorchin?"

"It's good that you've settled down, there's no need to keep thinking about it," Tana said nonchalantly.

Yinzhen praised, "Indeed. You are the daughter of the Crown Prince, while he is merely a Mongol prince. It is an honor for him to have your favor."

The words sounded strange, and Tong Wanyan felt a pang of sympathy for the young Mongolian boy, but she wholeheartedly supported Yinzhen's point of view.

It's not a good thing for a young woman to get too deeply involved; it's better to be carefree and live a life of ease.

"Does Fourth Brother also think Danjin is a good match for Tana?" Tong Wanyan respected Yinzhen's opinion on this matter.

Yinzhen frowned slightly and said with difficulty, "Barely."

Tana's eyes sparkled as she said, "Fourth Uncle, he's handsome. At first glance, he even looks a bit like Fourth Uncle."

Yinzhen's brows relaxed, and he said, "It's acceptable."

Tong Wanyan smiled and said, "Tana is right, Danjin does resemble Fourth Brother somewhat."

Yinreng whispered in Tong Wanyan's ear, "Where do you look like her? Fourth Brother looks more like Wuya Shi."

"Both have dark complexions. Fourth Brother has an imposing presence, but Danjin is genuinely dark-skinned. His wheat-colored skin, tanned by the Mongolian sun, makes him look like a little cheetah from the forest," Tong Wanyan explained softly, covering her mouth.

"You seem to like it quite a bit," Yinreng said sourly.

"A handsome young man with Tana in his heart, who wouldn't like him? Why is Master jealous again?" Tong Wanyan said with amusement.

Yinreng glanced at the uncle and nephew chatting animatedly, remained silent for a long time, and finally managed to say, "In Tana's heart, the fourth prince is more important than I am."
