Chapter 432 A younger brother will always be a younger brother

This isn't the first or second time that the servants of Yuqing Palace have bullied people.

Serving cold tea to unwelcome guests seems to be a tradition at Yuqing Palace.

This was the case when the Third Prince's wife was still a girl from the Dong'e family. Now, the Eighth Prince has to endure the same thing.

After leisurely finishing their breakfast, both Yinreng and Tong Wanyan quite enjoyed this down-to-earth food.

"Is Your Highness going to see Eighth Brother? Neither Jixiang nor Deshun have come to inform him; he should still be waiting in the main hall." Tong Wanyan rested her chin on her hand, tilting her head to look at Yinreng.

"Xia Zhu, bring over the flower that the black bird brought to the window," Tong Wanyan said.

As always, Xuan Niao loved the large, fiery red flower. Tong Wanyan held the flower to Yinreng's ear and compared it to his.

“You look good even like this, sir.” Tong Wanyan giggled, looking mischievous.

Yinreng, in a doting manner, took the flower and tucked it behind his ear.

"You're happy now?" Yinreng asked.

Tong Wanyan's smile deepened, and her voice became incredibly cheerful: "I'm happy. How could I not be happy to have Master put flowers in my hair?"

"I love seeing you smile. Your happiness is my happiness." Yinreng put the flowers aside: "I always feel there's a hint of black bird saliva in them."

"Don't let it hear you, it's the most petty one towards you." Tong Wanyan glanced cautiously out the window, thankfully the little guy wasn't there.

Yinreng pursed his lips and got back to the point: "What kind of status do I have? It's his blessing that he can wait for me."

Tong Wanyan didn't react for a moment, but she quickly realized who Yinreng was referring to.

“That’s true. But His Majesty still wants to see brotherly love and respect! If he really makes a wasted trip today, he will be the one who suffers injustice,” Tong Wanyan said.

Yinreng scoffed: "So what? As long as I don't disfigure his face, even if I break his leg, he'll have to accept it."

“Master is not that kind of person,” Tong Wanyan said firmly. “Master is kind and generous, and is a truly benevolent person.”

De Shun happened to come over and heard this; his expression was indescribable.

Before meeting his concubine, their crown prince was far from being "good and kind".

While he may not be entirely indifferent to human life, he was certainly an arrogant and domineering person who looked down on everyone except the Emperor and the Empress Dowager.

The Ninth and Tenth Princes, who now roam freely in the palace, are far inferior to the Crown Prince back then.

"Your Highness, it seems the Eighth Prince is getting restless and intends to take his leave," Deshun reported.

Yinreng touched the jade thumb ring on his thumb and said coldly, "He comes and goes as he pleases. Who taught him manners?"

"Xiao Yan, I'll be right back. You rest for a while, and I'll read with you when I get back." Yinreng said gently as he turned his head.

Two faces, the Crown Prince is so biased.

When Yinreng arrived at the main hall, Yinsi had just stood up, seemingly intending to return to his residence.

At this point, Yinzhi got a bit angry, thinking that since they were all imperial princes, why should he be so shameless?

"Where are you going, Eighth Brother?" Yinreng smiled gently, but his expression was more arrogant and noble than that of Yinsi, who had the same expression.

Yinzhi looked awkwardly at the person he was imitating, who walked over calmly, making him appear particularly inferior.

"Greetings, Second Brother Crown Prince. I've just been sitting for too long, so I'm standing up to stretch." For some reason, Yinzhi didn't want to put on the same smile as Yinreng.

His smile wasn't as handsome as Yinreng's.

The ministers always praised the crown prince, saying that he was gentle, kind, and humble, and would surely become a benevolent ruler. But the highest praise he ever heard was simply "wise king."

"Is Eighth Brother complaining that I arrived too late and kept you waiting?" Yinreng asked.

Yinzhi hurriedly tried to bow and deny it, but Yinreng bent down slightly, seemingly wanting to help him up.

In reality, Yinzhi knelt firmly, and Yinreng's hand didn't even touch the hem of Yinzhi's sleeve.

"I wouldn't dare," said Yinzhi.
