Chapter 5: Waiting for the Rabbit

In today's chaotic world, capable people will not show up easily.

There are also people who pay a little beggar to act as their relative and take on tasks for them.

"A bounty mission is awarded to whoever completes it first. Since both of you want to take it, then register first and it will depend on your ability."

The boy said nothing and left his code name on the record sheet.

Su Xiaoxiao was too short to reach the counter, so the woman kindly brought the record sheet to her.

"Codename?"

"Falcon!"

Su Xiaoxiao didn't think much about it and left behind the name of her previous life.

The woman wrote down the code name and looked up at the two of them.

"You've already read the notice, but I still have to remind you. Ye Jun is no pushover. The two taels of silver bounty isn't so easy to come by!"

"I'm not interested in easy tasks!"

When Su Xiaoxiao heard the young man speak, a hint of surprise flashed across her eyes.

"So big brother can talk! I thought you were mute!"

The young man glanced at her, then set his eyes on the woman again.

"What else is there about him?"

"Yes, of course!" The woman walked out from behind the counter. "This Ye Jun is a ruthless smuggler who sells human flesh. He sells the flesh of children under ten years old. Mr. Li's grandson went missing a while ago, and Mr. Li sent people to investigate for a long time before they found out that the grandson was killed by this Ye Jun. The government couldn't catch him, so he came here and posted a reward notice."

Su Xiaoxiao frowned: "No more?"

"And a portrait."

The woman took out the portrait from the counter and unfolded it in front of the two men.

The boy memorized the person in the portrait and turned away.

After taking a few steps, a woman's voice suddenly came from behind.

"Oh, Mr. Li said that as long as Ye Jun is captured, it doesn't matter if he's dead or alive."

The young man pretended not to hear and continued walking out of the mercenary group.

Su Xiaoxiao knew that if she wanted to collect six taels of silver, she would need to deal with the mercenary group a few more times.

It's always a good idea to build good relationships with the mercenaries.

Thinking of this, Su Xiaoxiao smiled at the woman.

"Thank you, beautiful sister. I will go back and tell my brother the news."

After Su Xiaoxiao left the mercenary group, she did not rush to find Ye Jun, but returned to the refugee camp.

According to the information provided by the woman, Ye Jun was in the business of trafficking human flesh, and his target was children under ten years old.

Children from wealthy families are all well protected, and only a very few of them get lost.

Ye Jun wanted to kidnap children of appropriate age, and the best targets were the refugees who were fleeing.

Instead of looking for a needle in a haystack in the Flower City, it is better to go back to the refugee camp and wait for the opportunity!

However, as soon as she returned to the refugee camp, she saw the young man she had just seen in the refugee camp.

The young man was wearing a moon-white robe and looked a little out of place standing in the crowd.

Suddenly, Su Xiaoxiao was stunned. She didn't expect the boy to appear here.

But she soon figured it out. What she could think of, the boy could naturally think of as well.

Unfortunately, his attire showed him as someone who was either wealthy or noble, and it was strange that he appeared in a refugee camp.

If Ye Junruo was a careful person, he would definitely turn around and run away when he saw him.

"My sister is back!"

Su Mu's voice brought Su Xiaoxiao back to her senses.

Seeing Su Mu and Su Wen running towards her quickly, Su Xiaoxiao raised the corners of her mouth slightly.

"Sisters, you must be hungry. There's a porridge giveaway outside. Let's go line up!"

"Okay, okay, let's eat!"

Su Mu clapped his hands excitedly and skipped out.

The young man had already noticed Su Xiaoxiao, and when he saw her go out, he followed her slowly.

"Where's the falcon?"

The boy stood behind Su Xiaoxiao and deliberately lowered his voice.

Su Xiaoxiao turned to look at him, raising a harmless sweet smile.

"Big brother, if I were you, I wouldn't care where my opponent is, but instead change into some coarse linen clothes. You're dressed like this and yet you're here. Do you think Ye Jun is so stupid that he can't see any clues?"

Hearing this, the young man looked down at his clothes, then turned to look at the refugees queuing up.

Noticing that they were all looking at him with strange eyes, the boy immediately understood that what Su Xiaoxiao said was right.

It is indeed inappropriate to appear in a refugee camp wearing silk.

If he were Ye Jun, he would definitely be alert and would not show up!

Thinking of this, the boy frowned, turned around and left the refugee camp.

Su Xiaoxiao suppressed her smile and glanced around inconspicuously.

The time for distributing porridge in the refugee camp is fixed. If Ye Jun wants to find his target, he will not miss this opportunity.

She had just deliberately sent the young man away because she was worried that if he stayed here, Ye Jun would not show up.

Thinking of this, Su Xiaoxiao retracted her gaze and looked at Su Mu and Su Wen who were standing in front of her.

"Sisters, you can get the porridge and go back later. No matter what happens, you must trust that I can handle it. Don't come out!"

Hearing this, Su Wen's eyes were filled with worry.

"Sister, what happened?"

"No time to explain, just do as I say!"

"good!"

Su Wen nodded, received the porridge, and took Su Mu back to the refugee camp.

Su Xiaoxiao took a step forward and took the porridge handed to her by the soldier. As she turned around, she caught a glimpse of a man walking out from the corner.

"Little girl, why are you here alone? Where are your parents?"

"Daddy went to buy buns and will be back soon!"

Su Xiaoxiao glanced at him and walked forward with the porridge.

After taking just two steps, the man quickly caught up.

"You must be starving to be lining up for porridge. How about this, I'll give you uncle's buns first, and then return them to me when your father comes back."

Hearing the man's words, Su Xiaoxiao paused.

She looked up at the bun in the man's hand and swallowed.

Seeing that she had been fooled, the man deliberately shook the bun in his hand.

"There are fewer people over there. Follow uncle and sit down to eat slowly."

“Thank you, uncle!”

Su Xiaoxiao nodded and followed the man to a less crowded place.

Seeing that no one was paying attention to them, the man stopped and handed the bun in his hand to Su Xiaoxiao.

“Eat!”

Su Xiaoxiao smiled sweetly, took the bun and took a bite.

She caught a glimpse of the man staring at her out of the corner of her eye, with anticipation in his eyes.

Her hands suddenly loosened and she fell to the ground.

"It's really a little girl. Her health is so poor that she fainted after just one bite."

The man picked her up and turned to walk into the alley.

As soon as he left, a young man in brocade clothes suddenly came out from the corner and followed him slowly.

The man walked a short distance before getting on a carriage.

Su Xiaoxiao secretly opened her eyes a little and found that she was the only one in the carriage. Then she spit out the bun in her mouth.
