Chapter 7 What a weirdo!

"Since we're destined to be together, how about we split the reward equally?"

“Not interested!”

The young man looked indifferent and tugged at his robe.

Su Xiaoxiao was unwilling to let him go like this.

He gritted his teeth and said cruelly, "Forget it, as long as you can bring me back to the city, I'll give you the reward!"

The boy looked down at her, a hint of impatience in his eyes.

He picked her up, threw her into the carriage easily, and drove back to the city.

Su Xiaoxiao secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

On the one hand, I was glad that I had saved my life, but on the other hand, I felt a little regretful.

She put in so much effort, but she didn't expect that in the end, she would just be helping others.

When she returned to Huacheng, Su Xiaoxiao had recovered.

As soon as the carriage stopped, the curtain was lifted.

Seeing the young man pick up Ye Jun's head and turn to leave, Su Xiaoxiao quickly jumped off the carriage and followed him.

"Big brother, wait for me!"

The boy ignored her and walked quickly into the mercenary group.

He came up to the woman and placed the head on the counter in front of her.

The woman laughed, no fear on her face.

"Wow, you completed the task so quickly."

The woman took out two taels of silver from the counter and pushed it in front of the young man.

"Here's your reward."

The young man took the silver, which made Su Xiaoxiao jealous.

As if noticing Su Xiaoxiao's gaze, the boy threw the silver into her arms.

Su Xiaoxiao took it subconsciously, her eyes filled with confusion.

"Give it to me?"

"I never take advantage of anyone."

The woman looked at the two people in front of her. She had no idea what was happening between them and was not interested in it.

She flipped open the record book and said with a smile, "Little brother, do you want to continue taking the mission?"

"Are there any more difficult tasks?"

"Yes, of course!"

The woman rummaged around and pushed the record book in front of him.

"This man's name is Zhang Qian, and he's a flower thief. Someone is willing to pay one or two ounces of silver to buy his life."

"Okay, okay, this is a good mission!"

Su Xiaoxiao nodded repeatedly, coveting the reward of one or two taels of silver.

The young man glanced at her, then returned his gaze to the woman.

"Are there any more difficult tasks?"

"Little brother, don't underestimate this mission. This flower thief is elusive. No one except the girls whose flowers he has stolen has ever seen what he looks like. It won't be easy for you to kill him."

"Okay, I'll take it!"

"I...I'll answer it for my brother!" Su Xiaoxiao pulled the boy's sleeve and said, "Big brother, why don't you cooperate with my brother?"

The boy ignored her and turned to walk out.

Su Xiaoxiao quickly followed him and left the mercenary group.

"Big brother, since we are now in a cooperative relationship, shouldn't you tell me your name?"

"I didn't agree to cooperate with you."

The boy's footsteps did not stop, and his voice was calm and cold.

As soon as he got on the carriage, Su Xiaoxiao quickly climbed up and got into the carriage.

She lifted the curtain of the carriage and stuck her head out.

"But we just worked together very well. If we had cooperated, we would have been able to catch that flower thief quickly."

"drive!"

The young man seemed not to hear and focused on driving the carriage.

Su Xiaoxiao was unwilling to give in, and then said, "Let's cooperate and split the bounty in half."

The boy still ignored her.

"Having one more partner is always better than having one more rival. Alternatively, if you have any other requests, please let me know."

"I'm not interested in cooperation, nor am I interested in a bounty. You don't need to waste your breath."

Hearing this, Su Xiaoxiao frowned, her eyes filled with confusion.

Since he has no interest in the bounty, why would he risk his life to take on the mercenary group's mission?

This young man is such a weirdo!

"arrive!"

The carriage stopped outside the refugee camp.

The young man's voice slowly came into the carriage.

Su Xiaoxiao was so sleepy that she could hardly open her eyes. When she heard the young man's words, she opened the carriage door and jumped out.

She turned around to thank the boy, but before she could open her mouth, she saw the boy driving away quickly in his carriage.

"I'll convince you!"

Su Xiaoxiao withdrew her gaze, turned around and walked into the refugee camp.

As soon as she stepped in, Su Mu ran over quickly and hugged her.

"My sister is back."

Su Wen was relieved to see that she was safe and sound.

"Sister, where have you been? My elder sister and I are so worried about you."

"I'm sorry for making you worry about me."

Su Xiaoxiao patted Su Mu's back gently and left his arms.

"Sisters, I've found a way to raise the registration fee. But it's going to take some time. I'll probably be leaving early and coming back late these next few days."

"Sister, don't tire yourself out. If you have any ideas, tell us and we might be able to help you."

"It's just being an assistant to a big brother for a few days. It's not tiring. But he's a very strange person, so I can't take you with me."

Su Xiaoxiao didn't want the Su brothers to worry about her, and was also afraid of scaring them, so she told them a little lie.

Su Mu and Su Wen trusted her blindly and did not doubt her words.

Seeing that she was unwilling to say more, Su Wen stopped asking.

"You didn't eat dinner, you must be hungry."

Su Wen took out a steamed bun from his arms and handed it to her.

"The buns are cold. They'll be a bit choking if you eat them. I'll go get you a bowl of water."

"Second sister, don't bother me. I'm not hungry, just a little sleepy. I'll rest first."

After saying that, Su Xiaoxiao walked to the corner and found a comfortable place to lie down.

Su Wen glanced at her tired face and felt a little distressed, but more of annoyance.

It's all because of him being a useless brother that his sister has to suffer so much.

When I woke up, it was already noon of the next day.

As soon as Su Xiaoxiao opened her eyes, she saw Su Wen walking in with a bowl of steaming porridge.

"Sister, I just went to get a bowl of porridge, you should fill your stomach quickly."

Su Wen came to her side, squatted down, and handed the porridge to her.

Su Xiaoxiao was indeed feeling very hungry, so she didn't bother to be polite with him. She took the porridge and drank a big gulp.

"Sister, you must be starving. I'll go get another bowl."

"Second sister, don't bother, this bowl is enough for me."

After saying that, Su Xiaoxiao gulped down the porridge.

She stayed in the refugee camp all day until dusk, but the boy did not come to see her.

Knowing that the boy was determined not to take her to play, Su Xiaoxiao felt regretful, but she didn't care too much.

She stood up and dusted herself off.

It's time to get to work!

After saying goodbye to Su Mu and Su Wen, Su Xiaoxiao left the refugee camp.

The target of this mission is a flower thief.

Unlike Ye Jun, he usually only appears at night.

It may not be easy to catch him.
