Chapter 27: Blood Shadow Bat

Chapter 27: Blood Shadow Bat

"I...I was hired to steal things from there." The Taoist said without any emotion, only a mechanical answer.

Mo Shu listened to his words and fell into a moment of contemplation.

"Who hired you?"

"I...I don't know. I just know they paid me to go there and steal things."

Jia Luo suddenly remembered the beads he had taken away and asked, "Who gave you that bead?"

"bead?"

"Oh, that's the instant release bead you mentioned!"

"My employer gave it to me. He told me to take it and run away if I was found!"

Jia Luo frowned. She knew that this Taoist priest might really not know the identity of her employer, but she couldn't just let him go.

"What did you steal?"

"I...I didn't have time to steal anything before you found me."

The Taoist's eyes were still unfocused, looking straight ahead.

"Why do you want to raise little ghosts and feed evil spirits?" Jia Luo continued to ask.

"I...I don't have any ghosts or evil spirits. I was just hired to steal things from there."

"Who told you to dress like this?"

"employer!"

Jia Luo frowned, she knew that this would not help them find that person at all.

He glanced at Mo Shu and said helplessly: "Let's go, it's all in vain!"

Suddenly, a cold light flashed, the Taoist's body shook violently, his eyes widened, and then slowly lost their luster.

Jialuo and Moshu retreated quickly, their eyes full of vigilance.

Jia Luo looked at the man lying on the ground and stammered, "Dead, dead?"

Then he looked around and frowned.

"Where is his soul?"

Mo Shu sighed and said coldly: "He must have been marked by someone. After his death, his soul will go directly to the designated place!"

"Ahhh, come out you bad guy, you hideous turtle!" Jia Luo shouted and cursed angrily.

Just as Jia Luo was cursing, Mo Shu suddenly squatted down and examined the Taoist's body carefully.

"Senior Brother, what are you looking for?" Jia Luo stopped cursing and walked forward to ask.

Mo Shu did not respond, his eyes were focused and cold. After a moment, he pulled out a piece of torn clothes from the Taoist's sleeve. There were some strange patterns on the corner of the clothes.

"What is this?" Jia Luo stared at the corner of the clothes curiously.

"Maybe it's a clue left by the employer. Although I don't know what it's used for, it's better than having no clue at all." Mo Shu stood up and carefully put away the corner of his clothes.

"Go back and give it to your third brother. The police are better at investigating these things than our special department."

"So what should we do now?" Jia Luo asked depressedly.

"Let's go back first!"

Jia Luo used her small hands to make a few gestures and broke the formation in just a few moves. The moment the formation disappeared, other people in the special department noticed it.

Standing up and looking at the construction site, Wen Yan stood up as well, not knowing why: "What's wrong?"

"The formation has disappeared. Let's go in!"

As they spoke, they walked in together, and Wen Yan followed them in to find Jia Luo.

Everyone hurried to the construction site, and soon they found Jialuo and Moshu.

Wen Yan saw them and ran over: "Are you okay? What happened?"

Wen Yan looked at the two men with a worried look on his face, scanning them back and forth to make sure they were not injured.

Jia Luo curled his lips and pointed at the corpse of the Taoist priest on the ground: "I originally wanted to get something out of this guy, but it turns out that he is not the Taoist priest that Ajie said. He was silenced and even his soul was taken away."

Mo Shu looked around, frowned and said, "Let's go first, this place gives me a very bad feeling!"

Jia Luo sniffed it with his little nose, closed his eyes and felt it carefully.

After opening his eyes, he said in surprise: "Brother, Brother, there is another aura here."

"Are you sure?"

Jia Luo nodded excitedly.

"Let's look around and see if we find anything else." Mo Shu said to everyone.

"No, no, just follow me!" Jialuo said with a smile, patting his chest.

Everyone followed her to a hidden basement entrance, which was covered by a shabby wooden board and was filled with a pungent smell.

Wen Yan covered his nose and said, "What's that smell? It smells terrible."

Mo Shu looked serious: "Everyone be careful."

As he said this, he was the first to walk down the stairs to the basement.

The basement was dark and damp, with water droplets hanging on the walls, dripping down and echoing in the silent space, making people feel creepy.

After walking a few steps, there were suddenly flashes of light in front of me, and I didn't know what they were.

Mo Shu stopped and Jia Luo looked at the light curiously, exclaiming in surprise: "Wow, it's actually a ban!"

Mo Shu went forward to check and tried to open the restriction, but he failed after trying for a long time.

"Senior brother, senior brother, let me do it!" Jia Luo said excitedly.

Mo Shu stepped aside and let Jia Luo stand in front.

Jia Luo made some gestures with her small hands in the air, and after a moment, she pushed forward with a palm mixed with spiritual power. With a flash of light, the restriction was slowly opened.

Mo Shu smiled and said, "Lolo, you make me look useless!"

Jia Luo stuck out his tongue mischievously, "Big Brother, you are being lenient with me. Let's go in and take a look. There must be a lot of secrets in here."

Everyone carefully passed through the restriction and continued to walk deeper into the basement.

I hadn't walked far when I heard a low buzzing sound, as if something was lurking in the dark.

Wen Yan tightened his grip on the weapon in his hand: "Everyone be careful, something is happening."

Suddenly, a group of black shadows came from all directions. They were shaped like bats, but had sharp claws and eyes that flashed red.

Mo Shu exclaimed in shock: "It's the blood shadow bats! Everyone, don't let them touch you, their claws are poisonous."

As he said this, he took out his peach wood sword and swung it at the blood shadow bats that were flying towards him. With every flash of the sword, a blood shadow bat was chopped down, but more blood shadow bats kept flying towards him.

Jia Luo threw a talisman paper towards Wen Yan, covering him inside: "Second brother, stay inside."

After he finished speaking, he formed seals with his hands and chanted a spell. A golden light curtain rose up around everyone, temporarily blocking the attack of the blood shadow bats.

"Senior Brother, the Blood Shadow Bat seems to be attracted by something, go and find it!" Jia Luo shouted to Mo Shu.

Mo Shu put away the peach wood sword and shouted to Jia Luo: "Lolo, hold on!"

As he spoke, he led everyone, under the protection of the light curtain, towards the source of the buzzing sound.

"Pool of blood!" someone shouted.

They found a huge pool of blood in front of them, the blood in the pool was swirling and emitting a disgusting smell.

The blood shadow bat flew out of the blood pool, and there was a platform in the middle of the blood pool. On the platform was a black box with runes engraved all over the box. The runes flashed with strange light, as if controlling the blood shadow bat.

"There's something wrong with the box." Mo Shu said.

"I'll go take a look, you guys cover me." After saying that, he threw out a talisman and rushed towards the platform in the middle of the blood pool.

The blood shadow bat noticed Mo Shu's intention and attacked the light curtain even more frantically.

Mo Shu shuttled between the blood shadow bats' attacks and finally approached the platform slowly. He tried to break the runes on the box.

At this moment, the blood in the blood pool suddenly surged up and turned into a huge bloody hand, grabbing towards Mo Shu. Mo Shu's face changed and he quickly dodged.

"Senior Brother!" Jia Luo shouted anxiously.
