Chapter 34 Exclusive Access: "Ah Zheng, do you want to see the stars?"...

Qiao Yunzheng vaguely heard the words "Wen family" and couldn't help but slow down. The two only mentioned it briefly and didn't go into details before the topic quickly shifted to other unimportant matters.

Qiao Yunzheng ignored their incoherent nonsense and walked over quickly.

Su Chen looked dejected in the private room. Su Ran was squatting beside him talking to him. When Qiao Yunzheng returned, both of them looked over.

Su Chen stood up, a glimmer of hope rising on his ashen face: "Xiao Zheng..."

Qiao Yunzheng looked a little embarrassed and pointed to the coat rack next to her: "I forgot my bag."

She didn't look at him again, picked up her bag, nodded to Su Ran, and quickly left the room.

A middle-aged man happened to pass by in the corridor. He was dressed in a suit and tie, but it couldn't hide his huge beer belly. He also wore a pair of black-rimmed glasses.

Qiao Yunzheng felt that the scene was somewhat familiar. Suddenly, she remembered that when she was waiting for Wen Hong in the corridor earlier, a middle-aged man with a similar figure had passed by while she was looking down at her phone. She didn't pay much attention to it, but she only caught a glimpse out of the corner of her eye that the man's gaze seemed to linger on her for a moment.

I felt that he looked familiar, but I couldn't remember where I had seen him before.

Suddenly, I remembered that the face looked like that of the person in charge of the Wen family, Wen Hong's father, Wen Jinliang.

So the Wen family that the drunkard in the toilet passage mentioned earlier is the same Wen family that Wen Hong belongs to.

Qiao Yunzheng subconsciously felt that Wen Hong had canceled the family gathering to come with her specifically to see Su Ran.

A warmth welled up in my heart.

Even though they were at a club, Wen Hong didn't take her to greet Wen Jinliang.

Qiao Yunzheng only knew that Wen Hong's relationship with her family was not good, but she never had the chance to investigate the specific reasons or the extent of the problem.

A sense of unease crept into her mind, something important was quietly emerging. Qiao Yunzheng tried to grasp it, but couldn't quite put her finger on it.

She seemed distracted, walking slowly out with her head down.

Suddenly, I bumped into someone coming from the opposite direction, and my head slammed into a solid chest.

Just as Qiao Yunzheng was about to apologize, the man reached out and wrapped his arms around her, even giving her a light pinch on the cheek.

Suddenly looking up, she met Wen Hong's mocking face.

"What are you thinking about? I've been standing here for ages and you haven't seen me?"

He had come in at some point and was looking at her with a resentful expression, as if accusing her of her carelessness earlier.

Qiao Yunzheng blinked, not intending to hide it from him, and said, "It seems that your Wen family is having a meal together inside."

Wen Hong's smile froze for a moment, then she seemed completely unconcerned: "Is that so?"

“Hmm,” Qiao Yunzheng nodded, observing his expression, and continued, “I think I ran into your father.”

Wen Hong straightened his lips, took her hand in his palm, and led her outside: "What did you say?"

Qiao Yunzheng shook her head: "I didn't notice at the time, but he should have seen me, though... he didn't say anything."

Wen Hong stared at her face for a moment, and seeing that she had no other emotions and was just calmly telling him about the matter, he simply said "Oh".

His fingertips unconsciously traced circles in her palm, then he glanced suddenly towards the private room: "That's it?"

Qiao Yunzheng looked at him blankly: "What?"

"Is something this trivial really worth your distraction?" Wen Hong raised an eyebrow at her.

Qiao Yunzheng's lips moved, unsure of how to respond, and she mumbled, "I think I heard the name of an acquaintance, but I might have misheard."

Wen Hong took her mutterings as just a way of brushing her off, raising a cold eyebrow, clearly not buying it.

When I came out, it was already completely dark.

The clubhouse is located far from the city center. When night falls, the absence of the city's hustle and bustle makes the full moon in the sky appear exceptionally bright.

Qiao Yunzheng almost subconsciously looked up at the moon on the horizon and couldn't help but exclaim, "Is it the fifteenth of the month today? The moon is so beautiful."

Upon hearing this, Wen Hong frowned.

Thinking of that cup of "Moon and Sea" wine, Wen Hong was still annoyed, and even looking at the moon in the sky made her feel unhappy.

He clicked his tongue, withdrew his hand from the passenger door, and instead grabbed Qiao Yunzheng's arm.

Qiao Yunzheng was caught off guard by his sudden movement and stumbled.

Wen Hong easily grabbed her waist and gently half-hug her against the hood of the car.

With a little effort, he lifted her up and put her on his lap.

Qiao Yunzheng was somewhat stunned. Even at night, the hood of the car emitted a scorching heat through her thin skirt.

She instinctively tried to dodge, pressing her hand against his chest like a startled butterfly. Afraid of being overheard by someone nearby, she lowered her voice and asked, "Wen Hong, what are you doing?"

He was like an unyielding mountain, and no matter how hard she tried, it was all in vain.

Wen Hong propped himself up on one hand beside her, looked down at her, and smiled: "I'm afraid your soul will be lured away by some unrelated person, so I'm calling your soul back."

His words came as abruptly, leaving Qiao Yunzheng bewildered: "When did Wen Lu switch to studying feng shui?"

Wen Hong chuckled and moved even closer to her.

He practically gritted his teeth as he forced out the words: "I can't bear to hear the name 'Moon' tonight."

Qiao Yunzheng was stunned for two seconds before belatedly realizing that it was just a casual remark she made that had upset him.

She almost laughed, but deliberately teased him: "What did the moon do to you?" As she spoke, she looked up and said seriously, "Did you get the moon's permission to accuse you like this..."

Her eyes sparkled, and she smiled maliciously.

The next moment, Wen Hong suddenly leaned down and blocked her from saying the rest of her words.

Qiao Yunzheng's eyes widened suddenly. She could hear voices coming from the direction of the club. Panicked, she kicked his shin with her toe.

Fortunately, the kiss only lasted a moment before it ended.

He lowered his head slightly, his dark eyes fixed on her, the warning clear: "Try mentioning it again."

Qiao Yunzheng obediently admitted defeat and dared not utter another word.

Wen Hong raised his lips, quite satisfied with her sensible behavior.

His gaze remained fixed on her face; her eyelashes fluttered rapidly, and even in the dim light, the slight blush on the tips of her ears could be seen.

Further down, her lips, reddened by the mist from just moments before, resembled grapes glistening with dew, freshly dipped in a spring.

Wen Hong unconsciously rolled his Adam's apple.

The hazy night veils reason with a thin layer of mist.

The sound of voices in the distance grew closer.

Qiao Yunzheng seemed to hear Su Ran's voice. Like a fawn about to be caught, she kicked and punched the person in front of her in a panic.

But his hands gripped her sides like iron clamps.

Wen Hong leaned down and whispered in her ear, "A-Zheng, do you want to see the stars?"

He was so close that he almost completely enveloped her; she couldn't see the moon or the stars, only the outline of his taut muscles as he leaned over.

Qiao Yunzheng's breath hitched, but thankfully she still had a sliver of reason left. She nudged him, saying, "Can you be mindful of your behavior? There are other people around!"

She instinctively leaned back, bracing herself with her hands behind her, barely managing to create some distance between herself and him.

"Afraid of who will see?" Wen Hong's words carried a dangerous warning.

The next moment, a large hand grabbed the back of her neck, rapidly compressing the distance she had managed to create.

His hands, burning hot, caressed the delicate skin on the back of her neck, sending shivers down her spine.

Qiao Yunzheng's last line of defense crumbled little by little.

When his breath came close again, she was as if bewitched. Her hand, which had been resisting him, gradually lost its strength and instead gripped the hem of his clothes tightly.

They no longer cared whether it was inappropriate or if they would be seen by some acquaintance.

A very soft, low sound escaped her throat, and Qiao Yunzheng gave up resisting, instinctively meeting that burning hot spot.

The metal of the hood sank slightly, and my uncontrollable heartbeat was amplified infinitely in the quiet night.

Qiao Yunzheng had her eyes closed, yet she could still see the colors shifting before her.

She truly saw a different kind of dazzling starry sky.

As she collapsed into that strong embrace, Wen Hong said to her earnestly, "Azheng, come home with me!"

Qiao Yunzheng was almost completely drained of strength, and she struggled to lift her head to look at him.

But his eyes were deep, and a smile played on his lips: "Shall I introduce you to my family?"

It was very late when Qiao Yunzheng got home.

The house was pitch black, and even the lights in the courtyard were off.

Qiao Yunzheng breathed a sigh of relief, turned on the flashlight on her phone, and tiptoed into the house.

I turned on the living room light and was surprised to see Yao Jing sitting motionless on the sofa.

She was startled and asked suspiciously, "Mom, why aren't you turning on the light?"

Yao Jing hadn't changed out of her pajamas, so she had obviously just come back from outside.

There was no smile on her face as she stared coldly at Qiao Yunzheng: "Why are you back so late?"

Qiao Yunzheng avoided her mother's gaze, smoothed the stray hairs behind her ear, and subconsciously replied, "I've been quite busy at work."

Yao Jing suddenly slammed her hand on the coffee table, her voice becoming shrill: "I just got back from the company, and they said you didn't go at all today!"

Qiao Yunzheng bit her lip and decided to stop hiding it.

She walked to the sofa and sat down next to Yao Jing.

Before she could even speak, Yao Jing changed the subject: "Xiao Zheng, Mom has arranged a blind date for you."

"What?" She wondered if she had misheard.

Yao Jing had already placed a stack of documents in front of her: "These are all documents that I have pre-screened. Their family backgrounds and personalities are all quite good. Take a look first."

Qiao Yunzheng frowned slightly, not glancing at the documents on the table: "I'm not going."

"Why?" Yao Jing's chest heaved, her breathing becoming rapid. "Or do you really want to be with that Wen family brat?!"

Qiao Yunzheng did not deny it: "What's wrong with Wen Hong?"

"Heh..." Yao Jing sneered, "What's wrong with that?"

Her hands trembled slightly as she picked up a document from the coffee table and placed it in front of Qiao Yunzheng: "Take a look first, see what kind of people the Wen family are."

Qiao Yunzheng lowered her eyes and silently opened the file folder.

The man's photo on the title page resembled Wen Hong somewhat, but lacked his imposing stature and sharp features; his eyes held a hint of turbidity.

It is Wen Jinliang.

Qiao Yunzheng pursed her lips and looked at Yao Jing: "Where did you get this?"

Author's note: Thank you to "Sunshine," "Succulent Grape," and "XiXi" for the nutrient solution! Their names alone exude vitality, haha!

I haven't been feeling very energetic these past couple of days, but let me cheer myself on! Go go go!
