After Chapter 133, should the child call him "Grandpa" or "Maternal Grandpa"?
After dinner, Tan Zhaojing called his father outside the courtyard.
"Dad, Mom already knows."
Tan's father: "...And then?"
Tan Zhaojing glanced at his father, "That's all. I won't wait for the company to go public. I plan to inform Grandpa soon."
Tan's father's eyelids twitched involuntarily. "What do you intend for me to do?"
Tan Zhaojing hadn't thought of this yet, "I'm letting you know first, so you can be mentally prepared."
Finally, he added, "You're the first one this time; your uncle and the others didn't know."
Talking about fathers, he'd rather not have it.
The daughter's voice came from inside, "Dad, brother, come in and play cards."
The two walked into the house.
Tan Jiani had already sent the maid back to her room. She was shuffling cards. "Dad, you play. Brother, you provide the service."
Tan Zhaojing glanced at him indifferently, "Do you want to recall what you were saying?"
Tan Jiani wasn't afraid at all. She pointed to her right and said, "Your future wife."
Next, on the left, "your future mother-in-law."
Finally, the other side... well, his biological father doesn't have much of an impact.
He suddenly pulled his arm back. "Just tell me, should we offer services or not?"
Lin Zaoyi blushed at Tan Jiani's mention of her 'future wife' and nudged her, saying, "What are you saying?"
Mingxian scoffed, "You little devil, speak properly."
Tan Jiani laughed and shook her head, "You're right."
She tilted her head and winked at her brother, "Right?"
The older brother didn't say anything, but he did take action, laying out fruits and snacks one by one.
Look at this pathetic state of mind.
Tan Jiani chuckled, resting her chin on her hand with amusement in her eyes. "Hey, brother, let me ask you something. What will your future children with Lin Zaoyi call Dad, Grandpa, or Maternal Grandpa?"
This time, Lin Zaoyi took action, forking a piece of apple and stuffing it into her mouth. "Be quiet!"
Tan Jiani couldn't stay quiet, so she pressed the apple against her cheek and asked, "Aunt Ming, do you want to be a grandma or a great-grandma?"
Aunt Ming gave her a reproachful look, "Even eating can't shut you up."
She chuckled, "It's just curiosity."
He raised his chin and said, "Dad, you tell me."
The father replied, "I'm fine with anything, I'm not picky."
After saying that, he turned his gaze to the young couple and said, "You two decide. Let me know when you've discussed it."
His serious tone made Lin Zaoyi want to crawl into a hole. She threw down the cards in her hand and said, "You guys play, I have a phone call to make."
Tan Jiani's shouts rang out from behind, "Hey, don't run away!"
The more they talked, the faster they slipped away.
Tan Jiani could only ask the other party involved, "Brother, what do you think?"
She thought her brother would make excuses or give her a sidelong glance, but he told her very seriously, "When looking after children, just call whoever you feel comfortable with."
After saying that, Tan Zhaojing nodded to the two elders, "I'll go back to my room first."
Tan Jiani thought to herself, "I want to go back to Lin Zaoyi's room."
Lin Zaoyi had just settled down on the sofa when a knock sounded at the door. "Who is it?"
Is Tan Jiani really that bored?
"It's me." A clear voice came from under the door.
She was relieved. "The door wasn't locked."
Tan Zhaojing turned and sat down beside the girl. "Are you shy?"
"And you're still talking," Lin Zaoyi climbed onto him, her face still flushed. "You didn't even try to say a few words in support."
"I can't help."
The man pressed his forehead against hers, intimately and tenderly, and said, "I want to get married."
Her heart skipped a beat, her face still flushed, and she lowered her eyes, saying, "Oh."
A hint of a smile crept into Tan Zhaojing's eyes. He bent down and nuzzled her flushed face. "Oh, what do you mean?"
Asking a question you already know the answer to.
Lin Zaoyi unconsciously fiddled with the buttons on his chest, muttering, "It means 'oh'."
Useless questions and answers.
Tan Zhaojing slid his finger bone to her chin and lifted it up, "No, answer well."
That's impossible!
She stood firm and said, "No way."
His breath suddenly drew close, his kisses brushing across her nose and landing on her earlobe, sending a shiver of pleasure through her body.
"itch…"
He moved to a different spot to kiss her, and when they were all dazed and confused, he pulled away by barely a millimeter, his lips pressed against hers, hot and seductive, "Baby, answer well."
Lin Zaoyi shook her head, the word "no" barely escaping her lips before being cut off by a much stronger force than before. Unable to struggle, she could no longer beg for mercy, "Tan Zhaojing..."
He stopped, his voice, tinged with desire, hitting my ear, "Then answer."
Lin Zaoyi closed her eyes, buried her face in his shoulder, and uttered a single, soft syllable, "Okay..."
*****
The three-day New Year's Day holiday flew by. Lin Zaoyi had a very happy holiday, which made her stand out from the crowd of gloomy faces on her first day back at work.
My colleague came over with a cup of coffee. "Zaoyi, you seem so happy. Did you get inside information beforehand?"
She rubbed her face, the smile in her eyes fading, replaced by confusion. "What?"
The older sister glanced at her and said, "Still pretending."
Lin Zaoyi: "?"
After a two-second eye contact, the older woman asked, half-believing, half-doubting, "You really don't know?"
"I really don't know."
The older sister didn't keep it a secret, "There's an overseas training opportunity at the station, and I was thinking that Mr. Ming would let you go."
Lin Zaoyi shook her head, "They didn't mention it to me."
It's not that Mom forgot, but that she hadn't thought about it. You can guess why: she didn't want her to be too far away.
The older sister chuckled, "I guess she'll say it in the next couple of days."
He blinked. "Aren't you excited?"
Lin Zaoyi smiled and said, "I prefer the moon in China."
Eldest sister: "..."
On the other side of the city.
As soon as Tan Zhaojing arrived at his office, his secretary knocked and entered. "Mr. Tan, there's someone claiming to be your mother—"
Before the secretary could finish speaking, Tan's mother pushed the office door hard, so hard that the secretary stumbled back several steps.
"Hey, Madam, please wait a moment, you can't rush like that!"
The other party ignored them completely.
She looked at her boss helplessly.
Tan Zhaojing concealed the impatience in his eyes, "Go and get busy."
The door closed, and the huge office fell into a deathly silence.
Tan's mother couldn't remember how long it had been since she last came here; it seemed to be more than ten years. She thought she would never set foot here again in her life, but today, she had no choice but to appear again because of her son's incoherent state.
She stood two meters away from the desk, without saying a word.
After a moment of silent confrontation, Tan Zhaojing broke the silence, "What is it that can't be said over the phone?"
Tan's mother said coldly, "Would you listen if I told you?"
Tan Zhaojing retorted, "Would I listen to you if you spoke to my face?"
Tan's mother's face darkened. "Tan Zhaojing, is this how you talk to me?"
"What's the matter with the score?" Tan Zhaojing sat down in his office chair and opened the documents in front of him. "If you want to talk about Zaoyi, I suggest you save your breath."
With the groundwork laid a few days ago, Tan's mother was relatively calm at this moment. "You can save me money, but only if you cut off all ties with that woman's daughter. After that, I won't interfere with who you marry."
"It can't be broken."
Tan Zhaojing didn't look up. "I made myself very clear on the phone that day, and also—"
He paused, his lowered brows and cold eyes saying, "She has a name. I don't mind reminding you again, her name is Lin Zaoyi."
Tan's mother scoffed, responding with a cold laugh, "So, you really insist on having her?"
“Yes,” Tan Zhaojing’s gaze swept over and met his mother’s piercing stare. “If you insist on having Lin Zaoyi, let me say it again: I was the one forcing you from the very beginning. I hope you can put this matter to rest.”
The mother's face was filled with barely concealed embarrassment and anger. She let out a sneer, though it was unclear whether she was mocking herself or someone else.
"You really are just like your dad!"
Tan Zhaojing gave an indifferent "hmm." There were some things he had to tell them in advance: "Don't go looking for Lin Zaoyi, otherwise, the last bit of affection between us will be gone."
Tan's mother swayed, her face paled, and her lips trembled before she could speak, "Tan Zhaojing...you are truly wonderful!"
He grabbed his bag, turned around, and left in a fit of anger.
The office fell silent again, only to be broken by a low, sharp voice a few seconds later: "Have someone follow Zaoyi and notify me immediately if they find my mother looking for her."
Assistant Shao on the other end of the phone was not surprised. It seemed that this war was about to begin. He thought it would take at least a day or two, but only three hours later he received a call from the bodyguard: "Assistant Shao, Madam has appeared at the coffee shop across from the radio station. I guess she has made an appointment with Miss Lin."
Assistant Shao was in the boss's office, about to relay the message, when he saw President Tan's expression harden. "I already know."
"Huh?" He couldn't help but take out his phone and examine it for a few seconds. Could it be that the earpiece was broken?
Mr. Tan's voice came through, explaining, "Zaoyi sent me a message."
Upon hearing this, he blurted out, "Mr. Tan, in just a few days, you and Ms. Lin have become this frank?"
He immediately realized his disrespect, but luckily the boss's attention was entirely on Ms. Lin. He grabbed his car keys and hurriedly left.
