Chapter 100 Blind Date
Ms. Ying smiled so happily that several lines appeared at the corners of her eyes. "Good, good, good!"
There's no time like the present; let's say today, how's it going?
Lin Zaoyi: "...So rushed?"
"Of course! Who told us to settle down with Zaoyi so beautifully? We had to do it sooner rather than later."
She opened her mouth, but in the end said nothing. It didn't matter; she had to see him sooner or later anyway.
"Aunt Ying, you and my mom chat first. I have work to do; I have an interview this afternoon."
"Go ahead, go ahead."
Ms. Ying is a woman of action; she booked a restaurant immediately and then notified her son.
Make sure to set aside time tonight!
Ji Baishen had a vague feeling that something bad was going to happen, but he didn't know any better. Ms. Ying, on the other hand, knew her son's nature well and had prepared a backup plan in advance.
At 4 PM, another notification was issued.
Don't play dead, I don't mind going to the company to arrest you!
Ji Baishen: "..."
【What's up? 】
Mother: [Find me a daughter-in-law.]
He tapped the screen: "No time, I have a business dinner tonight."
A knock sounded on the door. "Mr. Ji."
"Enter."
The secretary opened the door. "Mr. Ji, a reporter from CCTV is here."
Ji Baishen asked, "What's your surname?"
"It's reporter Lin."
"Have the marketing director receive him."
The secretary nodded in agreement.
As he turned to leave, President Ji instructed, "Make Reporter Lin a glass of juice, something a little sour."
She was taken aback. Previously, General Manager Ji had instructed her to let him in if it was Reporter Lin from the front desk. Now, he was specifically emphasizing the drink. It seemed that this Reporter Lin had a close relationship with the boss.

Lin Zaoyi came to the Ji family's alone today. She hadn't waited more than a few minutes when her secretary came in with a tray. "Reporter Lin, would you like some blueberry juice?"
She was somewhat flattered and said, "Okay, thank you for your help."
The secretary smiled, "No trouble at all."
Before leaving, I couldn't help but glance at this person. Her features were impeccable, and her elegant demeanor was not something that could be bought with money. I have to say, she was a perfect match for their CEO, Mr. Ji.
The blueberry juice was more sour than sweet, and Lin Zaoyi took several sips.
The door opened again, and she looked over to see a middle-aged woman in a white suit dress walking in with some documents in her hand.
She stood up. "Director Zhao."
Director Zhao smiled and nodded, "Reporter Lin."
After a brief exchange of pleasantries, we got down to business.
Halfway through the interview, Ji Boshen came over. Lin Zaoyi was about to stand up when Ji Boshen raised his hand and said, "Don't be shy."
He pulled out a nearby chair and said, "You guys chat, I just came over and sat down for a bit."
Lin Zaoyi: "...Okay."
It seems they were just sitting around casually, without interrupting or adding anything.
Ji Baishen kept sending messages, all from his mother, filled with threats: if he didn't show up today, he shouldn't even bother going home.
That girl drugged you.
[Don't make sarcastic remarks. You'll see for yourself when you meet her. The girl is beautiful and charming. More importantly, I'm on good terms with her mother and know her well. Aren't you against arranged marriages? This girl has a simple background. Although your Aunt Ming married into the Tan family, I know she won't let her daughter get too involved.]
Ji Baishen tightened his grip on his phone and almost reflexively looked at the girl sitting opposite him. Lin Zaoyi sensed his gaze and stopped writing. She met his eyes and asked, "Mr. Ji, what's wrong?"
Ji Baishen: "...It's alright, you guys continue."
Replying to my mother's message, "Any photos?"
About two minutes later, a picture popped up in the chat box. The girl had long, natural-colored hair tied back with a colorful ribbon. Her face was slightly tilted up, and although she wore no makeup, her features were exquisite.
Who is this person in front of me?
As evening fell and the first rays of the setting sun shone in, the interview came to a perfect end, and Lin Zaoyi expressed her deepest gratitude.
The director smiled and said, "You're too kind, Reporter Lin."
She glanced at President Ji; his eyebrows and eyelashes remained lowered, and she wondered what he was thinking about. Why did he have so much free time today?
“President Ji,” Lin Zaoyi stuffed her notebook into her tote bag, “You’re busy, I’ll be going now.”
Ji Baishen: "Together."
There are three elevators on the top floor, one of which is dedicated, and the other two are in operation.
Ji Baishen pressed the button for the private elevator. "Come in."
Refusing would seem pretentious, so Lin Zaoyi walked over and said, "Thank you."
The staircase was quiet, and we descended smoothly, floor by floor.
Lin Zaoyi didn't try to strike up a conversation. She silently counted the floors. When the red number showed 3, Ji Boshen's phone rang. He answered, "I know, I'm going now."
Ms. Ying on the other end of the phone seemed unconvinced, "Really? You're not lying to me?"
Ji Baishen glanced unconsciously at the girl standing to his right. "You want to sever ties with me? Do you think I would dare?"
Lin Zaoyi can control her eyes from looking, but she cannot control her hearing without the aid of external objects.
Judging from his tone, this call from President Ji must have been made by someone very close to him.
Although it didn't involve company secrets, it was still impolite to hear too much about it, so thankfully the conversation ended after only a few words.
The elevator stopped, and she slowed down to let the other person go first, but President Ji didn't step over; he reached for the button, indicating that she should go first.
Out of courtesy, I thank you again.
The two cars were parked at opposite ends of the road, but they drove off around the same time. The Maybach followed the tram at a leisurely pace.
Just as they were nearing their destination, the Maybach owner sped up and overtook them.
The location is a private restaurant called Yuanlou.
Lin Zaoyi gave the room number, and a waiter came forward to lead the way.
The courtyard is planted with many green plants, among which the osmanthus tree with its gnarled roots is the most eye-catching. It is in full bloom and its fragrance is delightful.
Walk around the courtyard and into a long corridor with a timeless charm.
Along the way, Lin Zaoyi took several deep breaths, trying not to show that she had agreed to the meal herself, no matter how much she resisted.
She heard voices nearby, somewhat familiar, and instinctively looked over, her steps faltering slightly.
Duan Lin casually turned his head and said, "Oh, it's Zao Yi, who did you meet up with?"
Lin Zaoyi didn't answer, but smiled and said, "President Duan."
Turning to the other person, even if we had only met half an hour ago, we should still greet them.
"Mr. Ji, what a coincidence."
Ji Baishen slightly lifted his eyelids. "Unfortunately."
"Um?"
"You should have invited me."
Lin Zaoyi's ears rang instantly, "Huh?"
It felt like a string was being pulled in my head, stretched to an unbelievable length.
Is the son Aunt Ying mentioned Ji Baishen?
What a coincidence...
Duan Lin's gaze swept over the two of them. "What's going on with you two...?"
The two looked at him, one calm and the other embarrassed.
The latter forced a smile, "No..."
Duan Lin's lips curled into a subtle smile. "You two are together?"
"How could that be!" Lin Zaoyi hurriedly waved her hands.
"Then what?"
As he asked, Duan Lin scraped back and forth across the two of them several times, as if he understood.
Her eyebrows shot up sharply. "Don't even mention blind dates."
Lin Zaoyi: "..."
Ji Baishen glanced at him expressionlessly, "Your private room is next door, I won't see you out."
“What’s the rush?” Duan Lin smiled slightly. “I’m just doing my job for Tan Zhaojing. After all, Zaoyi is my own sister.”
Upon hearing this name, Lin Zaoyi's heart skipped a beat. She turned her gaze away, trying to calm herself by looking at the scenery.
Ji Baishen glanced at the girl without saying a word, then nodded at Duan Lin with his chin, "Go do your thing."
Duan Lin laughed, "Alright, alright, I'm leaving."
Before turning away, she glanced at the two of them again. If this got together, would she have to call Ji Baishen her brother-in-law from now on?
It felt pretty good. I wonder what Tan Zhaojing thinks.
I need to ask.
Tan Zhaojing had just finished a meeting when Assistant Shao followed behind, carrying documents that needed expedited approval.
I had just handed it over when the boss's phone rang.
Tan Zhaojing pressed the speakerphone button, and a second later, Duan Lin's leisurely voice came through, "Where are you?"
"company."
Duan Lin wondered if he was just imagining things, but he felt that the dog's voice sounded a bit deep. He understood, "Looks like you know now. If you ask me, you're overthinking it. Ji Baishen is a good person. If they really get together, Zaoyi won't suffer."
The ink in his hand smeared, spreading a large patch of black ink on the document. Tan Zhaojing's expression darkened. "What did you say?"
