Chapter 11 You're Not My Type

Chapter 11 You're Not My Type

Tan Jiaxi Garden.

Lin Zaoyi stayed with her mother in the living room for a short while before returning to her room to organize materials.

She received several text messages on her phone, but ignored them.

The other party probably couldn't wait any longer, so they switched to bombarding me with phone calls, which finally diverted some of my attention. It was Sun Yao.

She frowned as she answered the phone, and the other end spoke first: "Who was the person who picked you up today?"

"Nobody."

She asked politely, "Is there anything else?"

“Yes,” Sun Yao said, “You’re not free tonight, so let’s have lunch together tomorrow.”

She didn't want to.

She was resistant to him because of his actions in the evening.

I have plans to meet up with a classmate for lunch tomorrow.

"Then tomorrow night."

"I also have something to do."

Sun Yao lost his temper. "Lin Zaoyi, are you doing this on purpose? Are you avoiding me because you know I like you?"

"It's not about hiding."

Lin Zaoyi's eyes returned to the screen, and she slowly moved the mouse. "It's a rejection, Sun Yao. I don't like you."

"What's wrong with me???"

The other person's question might have been a resentful one, but she took it seriously: "Your emotions are a bit unstable, and secondly, and more importantly, you're not my type."

She answered sincerely, but he became agitated, exclaiming, "How the hell am I emotionally unstable?!"

You could feel his rage even through the screen.

"Hang up."

Lin Zaoyi ended the call and continued organizing her written materials.

I finished my work around 10 o'clock.

I haven't forgotten about asking Xixi for help. I should have gotten it done by now, right?

I called, but no one answered.

Waiting idly wasn't going to work, so I took my phone to the bathroom, but when I came out after showering, there was still no reply.

She couldn't sleep until she got the results.

So, they went to the secret little base.

The night is terrible tonight. There are no stars, and even the moon seems to be hiding somewhere. It's only thanks to the city's neon lights that it doesn't feel so desolate.

The air felt less cool than it had been a few days ago; it was gloomy and stuffy. After sitting in the wicker chair for a while, Xi Xi called. She answered immediately, "All done?"

"Absolutely~ Can you tell me now?"

As she asked, Meng Jinxi made a blatant guess, "Could it be that you raped that person?"

Lin Zaoyi: "..."

It didn't get to that point, but it still ruined that person's reputation to some extent.

"No, just be normal."

His tone clearly lacked confidence, which piqued Meng Jinxi's curiosity. "If you didn't have it, why did you remove your name? Isn't that just a guilty conscience?"

Lin Zaoyi was speechless.

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw someone near the artificial hill. The figure was indistinct and I couldn't make out who it was, but I could tell that the person was very tall.

My heart skipped a beat for no reason.

She narrowed her eyes slightly. "Excuse me, who is there?"

The man stepped out of the shadows. The ground lights were dim, but they couldn't hide his superior features. He was wearing a white shirt and must have just finished a call, as the screen was still lit.

Her mind went blank for a few seconds. At that moment, she wondered if Tan Zhaojing had heard her.

In the midst of the confusion, he had already walked over.

She stood up straight in a flash.

They were moving so fast that her skirt accidentally brushed against his trouser leg.

Tan Zhaojing lowered his eyes slightly.

The girl's calves were slender and fair, shimmering in the moonlight.

He calmly withdrew.

Lin Zaoyi's heart was pounding like a drum. She clenched her fingers tightly to keep her expression unchanged. "Brother Zhaojing, did I... interrupt your phone call?"

It sounds like an apology, but it's actually a test.

The other person shook their head.

It means I was on the phone just now, but I didn't disturb you, right?

Lin Zaoyi wanted to continue trying to get more information out of him, but Xixi's voice suddenly popped up, "Has Brother Zhaojing left yet?"

Without waiting for her reply, he said to himself, "Zaoyi, don't be afraid. That's just how Brother Zhaojing is. To put it bluntly, he's a repressed pervert."

"..."

Before he could catch his breath, Xixi chimed in again, "If we're really being bullied, we'll do it secretly, in his cup—"

That's incredibly rebellious.

If she continued talking, Tan Zhaojing might assassinate her first.

Lin Zaoyi ended the call in time, quickly hung up, and then gave the man in front of her an awkward but polite smile.

Tan Zhaojing smiled slightly, a very faint smile, "Why don't you continue listening?"

Listen to ghosts!

She explained dryly, "XiXi is just talking nonsense. You know her so well, you should know her. She's heartless."

Unexpectedly, he replied, "I don't know."

Lin Zaoyi: "..."

Ultimately, it was her fault; she shouldn't have told Xixi she was afraid of him during that phone call earlier that day.

He was flexible and adaptable. "Sorry, Brother Zhaojing."

Tan Zhaojing generously replied that it was nothing.

She breathed a sigh of relief and was about to find an excuse to leave when she heard him ask, "I just heard Meng Jinxi say that you asked her to remove something from a list. Is it done? Do you need my help?"

Upon hearing this, she froze, nearly losing her balance.

Did Tan Zhaojing hear that?

Stay calm, don't panic. It's just a couple of sentences, it doesn't prove anything!

Forcing a calm demeanor, she said, "No need."

However, the man was unusually enthusiastic today, "Really, you don't need it?"

"...Really, you don't need to."

Fortunately, he didn't stand on ceremony. Before turning around, he glanced at her and said, "There are a lot of mosquitoes outside. Get some rest."

"good…"

It was a false alarm.

I had only been back in my room and lying on the bed for less than ten minutes when it started raining outside, and in a short while the heat in the air was extinguished.

Lin Zaoyi loves sleeping in this kind of weather. She had just settled down when Sun Yao sent her a message. To avoid disturbing her sleep, she didn't read it and muted her phone.

I slept without any dreams.

At 6:30 the next morning, Lin Zaoyi opened her eyes to the alarm clock and habitually reached for her phone. She found 21 unread messages and 6 missed calls, the most recent being at 2:00 AM.

It all comes from Sun Yao.

She frowned, swiped the screen, and tapped into the chat window.

Half of it was an apology for his behavior yesterday, and the other half was an explanation that he wasn't impulsive, but just anxious because he liked her so much.

The fact that he called her at 2 a.m. is enough to show that his emotions are very unstable.

Sun Yao, this constitutes harassment. And again, you're not my type.

After sending the message, I washed up and went downstairs to have lunch.

The aunt poured a glass of milk and handed it to me, saying, "Zaoyi, keep it warm."

Before she could refuse, her mother took her away, saying, "Zaoyi doesn't drink milk."

The aunt paused slightly, "How about corn soup then?"

Lin Zaoyi smiled and nodded, "Thank you."

My phone, which I had casually placed on the dining table, started vibrating. I picked it up, glanced at it, and put it behind me, letting it vibrate.

The call ended automatically less than ten seconds later and then came back.

Mom glanced sideways, "Why aren't you answering?"

As he asked, he reached for her phone. "It's saved in my contacts. It's not a spam call."

"Don't worry about it."

Mingxian understood, "If you don't like it, then just refuse decisively."

Lin Zaoyi thought it made sense, "Then I'll say it again."

Just as I stood up, my mother tugged at my clothes, saying, "There's no one else here."

To her, Tan Zhaojing, who was sitting across from her, was an outsider.

Uncle Tan looked over and said, "It's alright, Zao Yi, just sit here and call."

Just then, Sun Yao called again.

Mom gestured with her chin, "Go ahead and accept it."

Lin Zaoyi: "...Okay."

She brought the phone to her ear, and as soon as the call connected, she heard the other person ask, slightly agitatedly, "Lin Zaoyi, how do you know it's not suitable if you haven't even tried it??? Can't you come up with another reason???"

Before she could speak, he asked again, "Do you have a boyfriend? The guy Keplerman from yesterday?"
