Chapter 52 Plunder

Chapter 52 Plunder

Under his probing gaze, Lin Zaoyi slowly uttered the second half of her sentence.

“You treat Yuan Lai differently… You shared the cufflinks I gave you with her. It wasn’t exactly private, but… but…”

I suddenly don't know how to describe it.

It's alright, Tan Zhaojing already understood. After sorting through his memories, he almost laughed in exasperation, "Are you really that arbitrary?"

The girl pursed her lips but didn't say anything.

After half a minute, he roughly explained what had happened, and added at the end, "You can verify this with Meng Henian."

Lin Zaoyi blinked repeatedly, her expression unchanged, but the knot in her heart was completely wiped away by his explanation.

She had a preconceived notion.

I admit that I care.

My emotions became uncontrollable because of him.

Her face was rubbed against his short stubble, and the way he moved made her flinch.

"itch."

As if deliberately teasing me, she asked again, "Is this the reason you've been ignoring me these past few days?"

Lin Zaoyi refused to answer, her legs swaying beneath her skirt. "Let go."

Tan Zhaojing moved even closer, "I can't loosen my grip."

His lips were almost touching her earlobe, his breath soft and seductive, "Headache."

It doesn't look like a headache.

Lin Zaoyi forcibly suppressed her inappropriate excitement, puffing out her cheeks slightly, "Then drink the hangover soup."

"It tastes awful."

She also suspected the taste wasn't very good; Ms. Ming's cooking skills were really nothing to write home about. However, she had some reservations about the man's arbitrary decision, saying, "I haven't even had a drink yet."

He then pointed out another flaw: "It doesn't smell good."

That young master is really hard to please.

She said good-naturedly, "Then I'll try a bite first."

Two seconds later, the young master gave a soft "hmm," but did not let go. Instead, he rubbed his chin against her neck.

This made her breath catch in her throat. She forced a straight face and pushed against his chest, saying, "How can I taste it if I don't loosen up?"

But her tone betrayed her, laced with an unwitting coquettishness and a helpless resignation.

He chuckled softly, a hint of amusement in his voice, "What if I don't want to loosen up?"

Her body was restrained, and she couldn't move. Instinctively, she pressed her hand against his chest. Underneath the thin shirt, there was a bulging curve, rising and falling powerfully with each breath.

She was unexpectedly scalded and, lacking any backbone, withdrew. "Cold salad, tomatoes and preserved eggs."

The man raised an eyebrow for a moment, "I'll make it for you from now on."

She ignored her.

Suddenly lifted into the air, she was startled and managed to keep quiet, "What are you doing?"

With a steady footstep near the drawer, Tan Zhaojing pointed to the bowl of hangover soup and said, "Try it."

Lin Zaoyi: "..."

She didn't argue with the drunkard. She hooked the cup handle with two fingers, brought it to her lips, and took a small sip. The ginger was spicy and pungent, but with plenty of honey, it wasn't too hard to swallow.

"It's sweet," she said, handing it to him.

Tan Zhaojing put the cup back in the drawer, placed his hand on her lips, and gently caressed her lip tips. The touch was light, but the sensation was so clear that it made her heart race.

Not only that, he lowered his neck, his breath swirling around her, "You're not lying to me?"

This is really bad.

She tried her best to remain calm, "You'll just take a sip—"

"Ugh—"

All the words melted between my teeth.

A strong embrace, powerful hormones.

Lin Zaoyi's remaining rationality was quickly defeated and replaced by fear.

She pushed him and pinched him, but her wrists were clamped in a few moments. Her fingers were interlocked behind her back. When she tried to move her feet, he hugged her, turned her around, and pressed her against the door. His legs squeezed between hers, making her unable to move.

There's no escaping it, so I accept my fate.

But I was angry and took advantage of his unrestrained tongue to grind it.

Unexpectedly, this resulted in even deeper exploitation.

Tan Zhaojing kept his eyes half-closed, his entire field of vision filled with her silhouette, that light pink color deepening as he caressed her.

After a long while, he finally let go, tucked a stray strand of hair behind her ear, and his fingertips unconsciously slid to her lips, giving her a restrained kiss. "It really is very sweet."

Lin Zaoyi's eyelids were burning hot, and her voice trembled, "Why did you kiss me..."

Tan Zhaojing showed no embarrassment whatsoever, remaining as composed as ever, and said, "If you want to kiss me, then kiss me."

Lin Zaoyi: "..."

Her face flushed, she didn't know if it was from embarrassment or anger, "Did you kiss me?"

"Would you be allowed to do it if I asked?"

Without hesitation, she replied, "Of course not."

"elder brother!"

The sudden sound made Lin Zaoyi freeze. She quickly pushed him, but the bastard didn't budge.

She was so anxious she was jumping up and down, but he calmly said, "Kiss me."

"..."

You've been kissing for so long and you're still not satisfied!

She gritted her teeth, "Forced relationships are never sweet!"

He spoke calmly and leisurely, "It's fine to quench my thirst."

Forced into a corner, he reluctantly pressed a mark on his chin.

The warm touch made Tan Zhaojing linger for a couple of seconds before kissing his angry eyes back. "Tit for tat."

Lin Zaoyi: "..."

I've never seen anyone so shameless.

Having regained her composure, she quickly retreated a large distance. Just as she stood still, Tan Jiani appeared at the doorway.

"Take the initiative," he said, "Your brother's had too much to drink, I'll bring him some hangover soup."

To make it a little deliberate, "it's just sitting there."

Tan Jiani's attention, however, was on Lin Zaoyi's mouth. "What did you eat? It's so swollen."

Lin Zaoyi: "..."

She tried to appear calm, then touched her lips as if trying to cover up her misunderstanding. "Maybe it's seafood. You guys keep busy."

After saying that, he quickly disappeared from the siblings' sight.

Tan Jiani had a question in her mind: When did Lin Zaoyi become allergic to seafood?

The older brother looked over. "Did you need something?"

"No." She had just come back from playing outside. Aunt Ming said her brother was back, so she came up to chat for a bit.

"Haven't seen you for a few days, just wanted to check on you."

"You saw it?"

"Huh?" She nodded hesitantly, "I saw it."

"Then go out, and close the door behind you."

Tan Jiani: "..."

***

The following Saturday.

After lunch, Lin Zaoyi planned to ask Xixi to go for a walk, but her mother suddenly announced, "There's a banquet tonight, you'll be coming with me."

"If you can avoid going..."

Her mother looked at her and said, "What do you think?"

It seems not.

She stopped arguing; the editor-in-chief of Mingda University had been accommodating enough to her.

"I'll go there myself."

Mingxian nodded, "I'll talk to you about Uncle taking Jiani to the old house first. Someone will deliver the dress later."

evening.

Lin Zaoyi changed her clothes, grabbed her car keys, and was about to leave when Tan Zhaojing appeared in her field of vision, dressed in a custom-made black three-piece suit. His dark gray checkered tie was paired with an obsidian tie clip, making him look cold and upright. Her gaze inadvertently fell on his cufflinks, which resembled the pair she had given him.

Without investigating further, I withdrew my attention in an instant.

His presence here suggests he's here to pick her up, but he doesn't want to come along.

"No need to trouble you."

Tan Zhaojing glanced at her indifferently, "Are you sure you want to argue with me?"

Lin Zaoyi: "!"

"What did I argue about?"

She walked past the person and went downstairs on her own, but was caught up with just as she reached the living room. "Do you want me to carry you to the car?"

"..."

She glanced around in a panic, thankfully there was no auntie nearby.

Annoyed but not daring to vent, she puffed out her cheeks to express her dissatisfaction, "Does Uncle Tan know that you're bullying me like this?"

Tan Zhaojing remained unmoved. "Then tell me how I bullied you."

These words sounded ambiguous, and Lin Zaoyi cursed him inwardly as a bastard.

As if he'd been seen through, the jerk tilted his head, his gaze languid, "Did you insult me?"

Yes, I'm calling you a dog.

The scoundrel's eyes narrowed with amusement. "You're allowed to tattle."

She doesn't like to talk to me.
