Chapter 2 Orphanage

After a day and a night, Shi Qi was so distressed and had not eaten that she fainted in the broken house. She was finally found by Aunt Liu, who gave her some food.

Shi Qi, who became an orphan, felt both pitiful and heartbreaking.

I watched helplessly as the child lay quietly on the bed like a piece of wood, not crying or making a fuss, not speaking a word, not closing his eyes to rest.

She is so thin and weak. If she continues to suffer like this, she will be gone like her mother.

Aunt Liu felt really distressed.

Three days later, Aunt Liu said she planned to bury He Qian.

Shi Qi jumped up from the bed and said in a hoarse voice: "I'll do it, I'll do it myself!"

Her bloodshot eyes were stubborn and a little sad, her face was pale, and her lips were bitten white at the thought of burying her mother.

I borrowed some hoes and tools from Aunt Liu and spent another two days burying my mother alone.

Kneeling in front of her mother's grave, her lips had lost moisture and were cracked with traces of blood. Her hands were broken and bleeding from holding the hoe, and the blood had dried up.

He was dirty, unkempt, and looked like a tattered doll, in a terrible state.

But her eyes were clear and bright, like a shining black pearl, dazzling.

"Mom..." Shi Qi's voice was rough and hoarse. He hadn't spoken properly for many days, and his voice sounded like a broken gong.

After she got used to it a little, she slowly spoke.

"Mom, when I have money, I will come and take you to live in a good place."

"Mom, I will definitely complete what I promised you."

"I will take good care of myself and grow up well."

"Mom, you should have a good rest!"

Shi Qi smiled for the first time in many days, and the stars in his eyes were all filled with firm determination.

After returning to the shabby house, she changed into the cleanest clothes in her possession, ate some wild vegetables to fill her stomach, and said goodbye to Aunt Liu, taking only her mother's photo.

Where is the orphanage?

It was just two blocks away, and Shi Qi was fortunate enough to receive the kindness of Xue Yi, the director of the orphanage.

At that time, in order to find medicine for her mother, she had not eaten for two days and fainted on the roadside due to hunger. It was the hospital director Xue Yi who gave her food.

At that time, the hospital director Xue Yi knew her family situation. Out of sympathy and compassion, she expressed her willingness to take Shi Qi in and help her mother cure her illness.

But my mother He Qian’s disease is terminal and it is already in the late stage and cannot be cured.

Shi Qi rejected Xue Yi's kindness. She knew that the orphanage's financial situation was not very good and her mother's illness was very expensive. She didn't want to trouble the director and others. After all, they had to raise a large group of children, which was also not easy.

This time, Mom is gone.

We agreed to come to the orphanage...

As soon as she reached the door of the orphanage, several children who were squatting and playing inside saw her.

The leading boy, Cheng Yang, is fourteen years old. He is the cleaner and more lively one among them, but he is also very protective of his food and his own shortcomings.

Quite repulsive to Shi Qi.

He hated Shi Qi because she had once snatched food from him.

She hates it because Dean Xue Yi once wanted to take her in.

"What are you doing here?" Cheng Yang raised his chin, glared at her, and blocked her at the door, not letting her in.

The other children rolled their eyes curiously.

Shi Qi glanced at them indifferently, his eyes falling on a little girl of eight or nine years old in the group of children.

The girl was wearing a clean yellow dress. Her chubby face was decorated with a pair of big watery eyes and a pair of cherry lips, which made her very adorable.

Shi Qi remembered that her name seemed to be Huang Yaya. She loved to cry, laugh, and act coquettishly. Everyone liked her very much.

She envied the feeling of being loved and spoiled by so many children.

"I'm looking for the dean." Shi Qi was not afraid when facing them. His eyes were calm and he looked steady beyond his age.

"The director is not here! Go away!" Cheng Yang pushed her out of the orphanage door, his brows furrowed, and he looked like he was looking for trouble.

"Brother Cheng Yang, the dean is here. Why do you say he's not here?" Huang Yaya opened her round little eyes and looked at him innocently.

Cheng Yang didn't expect to be exposed by Huang Yaya, and glared at Shi Qi with embarrassment.

"You are not welcome here! Go away!"

He just kicked people out.
