Chapter 3 Shelter

Shi Qi lowered his eyebrows, pursed his lips, and clenched his hands: "I want to see the dean."

"I won't! I won't let you in to see the dean!" Cheng Yang widened his eyes, raised his chin, and acted arrogant.

There was also some rejection in the eyes of the other children.

It is not easy for the orphanage to raise these children. They do not have enough food, clothes, and they sleep in a very crowded place.

They don't want more people to share everything here.

Huang Yaya held Cheng Yang's big hand with her little hand, and her watery eyes were full of pleading and pitiful look.

"Brother Cheng Yang, don't be like this. This sister hasn't done anything wrong."

"I..." Cheng Yang was melted by Huang Yaya's cute smiling eyes and soft voice, and his momentum was not so tough anymore.

The other children also nodded, and it took some coaxing and teasing to make Huang Yaya smile.

She is worthy of being the most favored little girl among the children. Just by acting good, acting coquettishly, and saying a few words, all the children will turn to her.

Shi Qi found it very novel and couldn't help but look at Huang Yaya a few more times.

It's cute and adorable. I wouldn't hate it if I were in her shoes. I'd even like it a little.

"Sister, the dean is inside. I'll take you to find her."

"Thank you." Shi Qi curled his lips slightly and smiled.

Following Huang Yaya, we arrived at the dean's office in a short while.

I knocked on the door and heard "Come in".

When the door opened, Huang Yaya poked her cute little head in. Seeing Dean Xue Yi, who was working diligently, looking up at her, she grinned and laughed.

Dean Xue Yi, who was in her forties, smiled kindly: "Yaya, what's wrong?"

Then she saw Shi Qi walking out from behind Huang Yaya.

Her face was the sallow color of malnutrition, her lips were bloodless, and her hair seemed to be tangled in thousands of tangles.

The white clothes she was wearing had turned yellow, her arms and feet seemed to have no flesh, and her body was as thin as a piece of paper. A gust of wind could blow her away.

The only thing you can see are those eyes, which are clear and shining like crystal.

When those eyes saw the dean, the corners of their eyes turned red.

Shi Qi pinched the corner of his clothes, his lips trembling slightly, and looked up at her: "Dean..."

"Shi Qi!" Dean Xue Yi suddenly stood up, walked out from the desk, strode to her, and held her shoulders tightly with both hands.

"Your mother..." Dean Xue Yi looked at Shi Qi with a heavy voice.

Shi Qi nodded, her eyes tinged with scarlet. "Mom is gone, I... Dean, I..."

Dean Xue Yi hugged her tightly and gently stroked her head. "Stay here from now on. Treat this place as your home. Everyone here is your family, okay?"

"Thank you, Dean." Shi Qi's eyes were wet.

"Dean, do you want to stay? Really? Okay!" Huang Yaya happily hugged Dean Xue Yi's thighs and laughed happily.

"Haha..." Dean Xue Yi caressed Huang Yaya's little head lovingly, "Yaya is so good. From now on, you will have a sister Shi Qi."

"Yeah, Sister Shi Qi, I'm Yaya, I'm your younger sister." Huang Yaya held Shi Qi's hand and acted cute and obedient, which was very lovable.

Shi Qi felt warm in his heart and nodded gently, "Sister Yaya."

Dean Xue Yi smiled kindly, took the two girls' hands and walked out of the office.

"Let's go and arrange a place for your sister Shiqi to sleep."

This orphanage is not big and can accommodate about thirty people at most. The children account for twenty-one of them, and including Shi Qi, there are twenty-two people in total.

There were fourteen boys and eight girls.

The boys' beds are full, but there are still vacancies for girls.

Bedding and daily necessities are treated equally by every child, and there is no rule of thumb to judge who is better or worse at using them.

But for Shi Qi, who was used to a miserable life, it was really great.
