Chapter 372 Nothing Happened

"I'm leaving!" Yan Simiao threatened as she saw her about to pounce on her again.

Seeing that she was serious, Qiao Zhen didn't move any closer to her. She pulled out a piece of paper and sniffled without any regard for her image.

Even Yan Simiao, who had seen all sorts of people, felt somewhat helpless seeing her like this.

I wonder if Lu Zheng has ever seen her like this before. If he saw her like this, would his illusions be shattered?

What she didn't know was what kind of person her supervisor, Qiao Zhen, was, yet Lu Zheng liked her.

After Yan Simiao's encouragement, Qiao Zhen's mood was not as down as it had been at the beginning.

She still felt it was all her fault, that caused the two of them to go against each other.

Yan Simiao rolled her eyes. Sure enough, people in love don't think straight. Lu Zheng and Gu Xijue disliked each other; even without her, they would still clash.

The two of them were just one spark away from clashing, and this time, Qiao Zhen became that spark.

Yan Simiao stayed with Qiao Zhen at her home for one night, and Qiao Zhen went to work as usual the next day.

As soon as she arrived at the office, Song Siyi couldn't wait to come over and gossip with her.

"Do you know anything about the Jazz Group?"

Hearing her words, Qiao Zhen glanced at her. She didn't want to answer.

Isn't that obvious? The news made such a big fuss, and she sent her so many messages yesterday, how could she not know?

"Hehe, I thought you hadn't read the message." Song Siyi was a little embarrassed. It had been a whole day since she had replied to the message, and she really thought Qiao Zhen hadn't read it.

"If you have something to say, say it. If not, go back to work." She made it clear that she didn't want to talk about it and told Song Siyi to go back.

"No, I heard that Gu Xijue's case was reported by his company's finance department themselves, and they brought all the evidence."

Upon hearing Song Siyi's words, Qiao Zhen paused for a moment.

She never expected that the Jazz Group would be facing internal strife. If it was true, then it was a good thing she didn't ask Lu Zheng yesterday.

Thinking about this, she was very glad she hadn't asked yesterday, otherwise Lu Zheng would have been so upset.

"I wonder if the Jazz Group can survive." Song Siyi mainly wanted to gossip with Qiao Zhen, and seeing that she didn't know anything, she told her everything she knew.

After hearing this, Qiao Zhen didn't hesitate to discard her like a used tool and send her back to work.

Knowing her ruthlessness, Song Siyi didn't care.

She hesitated for a moment while looking at the computer, but still turned it on and searched for news about Gu Xijue.

She opened a webpage and, without even searching, saw news about him on the top headlines.

The news report did not mention Gu Xijue in detail, only that he was taken in for investigation, and did not mention that it was the financial information that was exposed.

It's likely that the Jazz Group was involved in suppressing some negative news. Otherwise, if it were revealed that a company accountant had filed a formal complaint, the situation would have been far more serious.

"Does President Lu still want to continue?" After Gu Xijue was taken away for investigation, the stock of Jazz Group plummeted.

The assistant looked at Lu Zheng and asked him if he wanted to continue with the next part of the plan.

Lu Zheng stood by the window, looking at the bustling traffic below. After a long silence, he slowly said, "Don't worry about it for now."

It's impossible to take down the Jazz Group all at once. What they need to do now is take advantage of the troubles in their company to get back the projects they previously worked on.

As early as last night, the person in charge of that project received word that Gu Xijue had been taken away and sent a message to Lu Zheng asking if he wanted to take over.

Now is a good time to talk to them again; there might still be room for profit.

Upon receiving the instruction, the assistant did not linger and turned to leave Lu Zheng's office.

Hearing the door close, Lu Zheng remained standing by the window, gazing at the scenery below, his eyes flashing with endless coldness.

Thinking about the photos he saw on Qiao Zhen's phone last night, he felt an overwhelming surge of hatred.

He didn't understand why she still didn't trust him, even though he had been good enough to her. The photos were so poorly edited that she couldn't tell the difference at all.

He knew that Qiao Zhen was prejudiced against him, which was why she couldn't see the obvious signs of photoshopping in such a bad way.

Thinking of this, a mocking smile appeared on his lips, and he looked somewhat gloomy.

Unlike the Shen family, Gu Xijue was released shortly after being taken in.

They publicly claimed that the allegations were false and that the Jazz's accounts were in order.

As the statement was released, the matter gradually faded from public view.

As for whether it's true or not, only those within their organization know.

Lu Zheng had already guessed this ending, but the ending was not important to him; what mattered was the result.

For Gu Xijue, losing that project was the best outcome.

Gu Xijue, who had lost the project, was throwing a tantrum at the company. Anyone with a discerning eye knew they had been framed! But the people on the other side didn't give him a chance and immediately contacted Lu Zheng!

The people in his company are a bunch of idiots; they can't even do such a simple thing right.

Knowing what angered Gu Xijue, they didn't dare to utter a sound.

What can they do? The project contract hasn't even been signed yet, and they already have the opportunity to back out.

The people over there are acting immorally, but they dare not publicize it, for fear of making the situation even worse.

After his outburst, Gu Xijue gradually calmed down. He knew that Lu Zheng was behind this whole thing, his aim being to retaliate against him for stealing his plan.

Hmph, so what if he takes revenge? In Qiao Zhen's heart, he's still the most important person! Otherwise, Qiao Zhen wouldn't have told him something so important.

Thinking about it this way, Gu Xijue felt much less angry and much more at ease.

Lu Zheng had no idea what Gu Xijue was thinking; he was currently downstairs at the branch office.

He took out his phone to call Qiao Zhen, but then he saw her come out of the company and get into a car.

If I remember correctly, that car was Gu Xijue's car.

Seeing this, Lu Zheng stared at Gu Xijue's car with a sinister and vicious look.

Qiao Zhen, who had just gotten into the car, felt something was off. She moved forward a little and glanced outside in the rearview mirror.

"What's wrong?" Gu Xijue asked gently when he noticed her staring outside.

"It's okay." Qiao Zhen didn't see anything. She tightened her grip on the seatbelt, smiled, and said softly.

Gu Xijue glanced behind him but didn't notice anything unusual about Mei, so he ignored it.

Qiao Zhen looked at the fleeting scenery outside and felt a little embarrassed.

She didn't expect that the first thing Gu Xijue did after returning to the company was to look for her.

Although she knew it had nothing to do with Lu Zheng, she still felt sorry for him.

Upon arriving at the restaurant, Lu Zheng ordered several of her favorite dishes and looked at her with concern.

"You don't look like you slept well. Is something on your mind?" Her appearance made Gu Xijue think that she was worried about him.

"It's nothing, I've just been working too hard lately." Seeing Gu Xijue like this, she felt even more guilty.

"Do you think this matter is related to Lu Zheng, and that it's your fault?"

Qiao Zhen was taken aback when she heard his words, somewhat surprised that he would think that way.

That was her initial thought, but after listening to Song Siyi's words, she realized that the problem stemmed from within his company and had nothing to do with Lu Zheng.
