Tears clung to her eyelashes, stinging her eyes and causing a sharp pain. Qiao Zhen blinked, and when she looked at the man in front of her again, the expression she had never seen before was gone.
Lu Zheng's expression remained slightly cold and gloomy, but the next second he leaned over and hugged Qiao Zhen, "Never have such thoughts again."
The embrace was warm, and a heavy feeling settled into Qiao Zhen's heart.
She sat there blankly, not daring to hug him back.
Why do I have this feeling of déjà vu, this childlike willfulness and dependence?
She couldn't help but delve into her memories.
"Knock knock knock," someone knocked on the car window from outside.
An elderly man wearing a bright-colored vest announced, "Parking fee!"
Lu Zheng then released Qiao Zhen, "Don't stop the car."
Once back on the road, the car was moving at a normal speed. Qiao Zhen looked at Lu Zheng's handsome profile, her gaze gradually losing focus.
His mind was completely empty, devoid of any memory of Lu Zheng.
"We've arrived." A deep, magnetic voice sounded in my ear.
Qiao Zhen came to her senses and realized that she had already arrived at the entrance of the residential area.
"Thank you, Mr. Lu. Drive carefully." She got out of the car, but didn't leave immediately. She waved to the man inside the car in a very professional manner.
Lu Zheng glanced at her, then quickly closed the car window and sped away with the roar of the engine.
Even after the car disappeared from sight, Qiao Zhen's heart was still in turmoil. She rubbed her temples and turned to go home.
Unbeknownst to her, Lu Zheng turned around at the next intersection and drove back to the roadside opposite the residential area, where a row of bushes blocked his car.
Qiao Zhen was about to order some of Qiao Luosheng's favorite dishes from a nearby restaurant when a new text message suddenly popped up on her phone.
"Get to room 307 of the Mei Hua Hotel before 6:30."
