Chapter 122 Suicide
Tu Lanxun hissed and looked at Wu Qingchu, whose expression was moist, not knowing what to say to him.
Wu Qingchu himself didn't comment much on the matter, even though he died in it. Li Ao, however, kept asking, "What kind of knife did he use? Where was the wound? Did he come early that morning or was he called in later?"
"I don't remember what knife it was. My soul woke up an hour later. Dong Tianlong and Huang Hejiang—also known as Qianniu—had already loaded my body into the car. Qianniu then drove me to Badapan Mountain to dispose of my body."
As he spoke, Wu Qingchu raised his head slightly, showing his neck to Li Ao and the others. Suddenly, a scar appeared on his neck, a scar he had conjured, severing his throat.
"I may not remember it clearly. You can go and take a look at the body and pull the skin off the neck a little. I was afraid of attracting attention from outsiders, so I filled the cut throat with soil." Wu Qingchu said.
As for when Huang Hejiang came, he had no idea. He only remembered Dong Tianlong's terrified cry when the man took action, and Huang Hejiang's stylish artistic suit, his medium-length hair, his overly white and wide face, and his incongruous, thin phoenix eyes.
Li Ao checked with Wu Qingchu again what he knew about the Dong family. Unfortunately, he knew nothing about Dong Yijian and Kris, and he couldn't even grasp the whereabouts of Qianniuhuang and He Jiang. He only knew Dong Tianlong's affairs deeply.
He knew what kind of bike Dong Tianlong liked to ride the most, what kind of wine he liked to drink the most, what his biggest wish was as a child, what words would make him impatient and angry, and what kind of smile made Dong Tianlong truly happy.
There were also countless nights when Dong Tianlong refused to study and I pestered him to play games with me, or to drink beer and watch the stars on the roof.
There will also be nights like that that will eventually pass away in the wine glass. The wine glass will condense a strange light, making the eyes of the big boy who called "brother" bloodshot, and he will turn into another person he doesn't know, holding an iron sword in his hand to strike him.
Judging from Wu Qingchu's expression, the final throat-slitting was not done by Dong Tianlong, which made Wu Qingchu feel much better and he was able to forget about it.
Just like he traveled across mountains and rivers to Lucheng to report, his main goal was to fight back against Qianniuhuang and He Jiang, and Dong Tianlong was precisely divided into responsibilities. Wu Qingchu hoped that he would become a small figure in both the case story and his own memories. Although he had no friendship at all, he would not be hated too much.
However, this matter was beyond his control. Now that Huang Hejiang's real names had been discovered, the investigation against them would only become more swift and violent. Dong Tianlong was currently in the country. After going through the procedures of the police station and the Tourism Administration, it was only a matter of time before he was arrested.
The most important one is Huang He Jiang. According to Wu Qingchu, Huang He Jiang has a closer relationship with the Kris brothers than Dong Tianlong, his biological child.
"The witnesses, evidence, and confessions are irrefutable." Li Ao glanced at Wu Qingchu and his body, saying, "Immediately arrest Huang Hejiang."
Wen Chong, however, focused on another matter. She asked Wu Qingchu, "Why did you 'attack' the fifth person being stalked?"

Tu Lanxun finally returned to the convenience store. Suoniya was sitting at the cashier counter, petting a cat while asking, "Is Wu Qingchu actually...lost?"
"That's right." Tu Lanxun stirred the braised egg in his instant noodles. "He saw the police searching for the body at Badapan Mountain. He knew the matter hadn't been forgotten, so he became interested. Although he knew Lucheng's license plate number, he was too embarrassed to come out. That's why he rode alone for thousands of miles back to Lucheng. He hid all over the city and didn't even know his way around."
Sonia asked puzzledly, "What about the fifth victim?"
Tu Lanxun took a bite of noodles and said, "He just happened to run into them. There's a police station behind the mall where the incident happened. He was just about to go over there when he saw that black fog ghost hunting in the street. The fifth victim was unaware. So he rushed over and slapped the soul out of him."
She wiped her mouth with a tissue, turned to grab the soda, and unscrewed it. "The Black Mist Ghost is no longer within the city of Lucheng. I guess he ran away."
It is only a matter of time before Dong Tianlong and Huang Hejiang are arrested in the country. The real trouble lies with Kris and Dong Yijian.
Tu Lanxun finished his instant noodles and lay on the recliner. He let out a long breath, and his cell phone suddenly lit up.
The person who sent the message was Wenchong, and the other party said: The place has been found.
Which place?
Oh, that place.
Tu Lanxun thought of the landscape painting in the back room of Bluebird Metropolis Hospital. She hadn't expected it to happen so quickly. She typed two words, then deleted them, leaving only a brief mention of meeting tonight.
At six o'clock in the evening, Tu Lanxun saw off a wave of ghostly guests and drove his silver-gray Jetta to the Lucheng South Police Station. N sat in the driver's seat, gazing up at the sky. Tu Lanxun suddenly asked, "Wu Qingchu is buried now. Do you want one too?"
N said calmly: "No. I'm already in the soil."
Tu Lanxun was speechless, but N had something to say: "What does Wenchong want us to do?"
There was no way to answer that. Could she have snuck into the Gray City Caves? And had this and that happen with the big, medium, and small Ns?
The problem was solved the moment she saw Wen Chong. She took Tu Lanxun to a small lounge next to the police station's toilet. As usual, the fourth clause shielding device was turned on in the room, so N didn't even enter the door and turned directly to the men's toilet next door.
As soon as Tu Lanxun sat down, Wen Chong handed her a folder and said, "Take a look first. I'm going to be out for a while."
After saying that, she turned and went out, closing the door.
Under the flickering lights of the shielding device, Tu Lanxun flipped through the documents. Among them were seven target locations, all of which were green mountainous areas, mostly scattered throughout the central region of the country. There were also twelve locations abroad.
The common feature of these nineteen locations is that they all closely resemble the landscape paintings of the Chamber of Secrets from certain angles.
Tu Lanxun couldn't help but feel a little admiration. The people in the Tourism Administration were really not here for free, as they could find such an abstract corresponding target in the vast world.
There is just a note at the bottom: The possibility that the target destination is not included cannot be ruled out.
There are two target locations close to Lucheng, but unfortunately, they are both crossed out with a marker and a note saying [No results found].
Wenchong was late in coming back, so Tu Lanxun read the folder several times and finally pulled out a piece of paper from the last layer of the folder. There was Wenchong's handwriting on it.
Past investigations into Kris and Dong Yijian.
Tu Lanxun read through the book roughly. Dong Yijian and Kris were born into a middle-class family. Their parents divorced when they were young, separating the twins across the ocean. Dong Yijian stayed in China with his father, a clinical medical specialist, while Kris traveled overseas with his mother, a businesswoman, spending their teenage years in a vast country of palm trees and rubber trees.
Because the separated couple disliked each other and each held on to their son tightly, Kris and Dong Yijian rarely met in the early stage, and mostly communicated through overseas phone calls and online chats.
Their parents are both deceased today, having died young. Their mother contracted a disease from an exotic rainforest while conducting field research the year they graduated from college. She ultimately died despite medical treatment, leaving Kris with a thriving but underdeveloped business. Their father passed away two years later, from a sudden cardiac death after working all night. That trip back to China to attend the funeral was the first time Kris and Dong Yijian met as adults.
Tu Lanxun couldn't help but find this interesting when he read it. These two parents are really very similar, no wonder they can't get along.
Next is the survey results on twin brothers’ entrepreneurship and marriage.
The two of them inherited their parents' high IQ genes as if they had won the lottery, and after their parents passed away, they actually visited each other more frequently. Kris returned to China very frequently, spending almost half a year in the country, or to be more precise, in Lucheng.
Dong Yijian has never had a legal spouse. The police were able to find out the dark details of Deshi Hospital's rise, but they could not find out Dong Yijian's private life, let alone who Dong Tianlong's biological mother was. Dong Tianlong's existence was only traced from the age of three, as if he had appeared out of thin air.
This is actually very strange. Whether it is a lover's childbirth, in vitro fertilization, or even adoption and trafficking, relevant traces will be left.
But Dong Yijian was like someone who had picked up a grain of rice from a bowl one day, rubbed it, and it turned into Dong Tianlong. He treated Dong Tianlong in much the same way.
Compared to his younger brother Dong Yijian's life of isolation from the opposite sex, Kris has a close friend, Teacher Nie, and a long-hidden AI wife. Although more perverted than his brother, he is also much more lively.
"That's incredible." The door opened, and Tu Lanxun looked up and said to Wen Chong, who had returned late, "One of them is a bachelor but conjured a child, and the other is unmarried and childless but is in love with a computer. They're truly brothers."
Wen Chong smiled: "You saw that."
Tu Lanxun even muttered, "You've been gone for too long."
"Then I guess you didn't read to the end." Wen Chong walked over and pointed to the end of the paper. "Look here."
As Tu Lanxun read, his eyes suddenly widened. "Based on previous genetic test reports, it's impossible to determine which of the two brothers Dong Tianlong is the child of?"
For some reason, the genetic overlap rate between Dong Tianlong and his father's uncle is the same.
"Is this scientific?" Tu Lanxun's fingers trembled.
Wen Chong sat down across from Tu Lanxun. "There's one more thing I haven't written here yet. Dong Yijian didn't have any romantic experience as a student, but Kris did. When he was studying at a highly ranked university abroad, he dated an outstanding girl from the same school for two years."
"So what happened next?"
"Nothing serious. Kris suddenly broke up with that girl. All the classmates from that year heard about it. Because both of them were so outstanding, it's hard to forget such memorable gossip."
Tu Lanxun nodded. "Well, why do I feel that Kris might not be the kind of young, talented, rich young man who's prone to casual flirting?"
"You're right," Wen Chong agreed. "Because a year after graduation, that girl died. Kris didn't attend the funeral, but I heard he was heartbroken. More heartbroken than when his own mother died. He locked himself in his apartment and drank for a long time."
Tu Lanxun frowned, "How did he die?"
Wen Chong looked over meaningfully and said, "Suicide."
