Chapter 31: Green Train

Chapter 31: Green Train

It seems I have to go there.

N was initially noncommittal, but Tu Lanxun tempted him with some local specialties. He thought for a moment, but before he could ask, Tu Lanxun quickly added, "It's a specialty dessert. The traditional dim sum there is very famous."

So we prepared to set off.

Tang Weining naturally had no objection. The three of them looked at their tickets and agreed to meet at the north gate of Lucheng Agricultural University in four hours, then they each went to pack their luggage.

Tu Lanxun and N drove back to the convenience store. The goods they had ordered from the distributor had arrived. The driver was waiting at the door in a small truck, looking a little impatient.

Tu Lanxun was stunned. He didn't know what benefits the company had promised the driver to be willing to drive to this deserted area.

The driver, cigarette in hand, said: "Check the cargo manifest, it's all right, I'm leaving now!"

Only then did Tu Lanxun notice the unusual color in the driver's irises. After looking at them for a long time, she felt a little dazed. Her vision had become much sharper recently, and she immediately realized that something was wrong.

N sneered, walked past Tu Lanxun and entered the store without any intention of explaining.

Tu Lanxun and the driver were carrying the cargo box into the store, rolling up their sleeves and getting ready to get to work. N glanced at her enthusiastic expression and smiled, "Do you need my help?"

Before Tu Lanxun could say anything, all the goods automatically floated up and flown to different shelves according to categories, finding their own positions. Even the angles of placement were adjusted, like rows of soldiers.

I know that he not only has mysophobia, but also obsessive-compulsive disorder.

Tu Lanxun felt a lot of pressure in her heart. She would feel burdened when taking things from the shelves in the future!

"Don't mind it." N's voice was lazy, but cold. "I just don't allow others to mess up my living environment."

Tu Lanxun retorted in his heart: This is my living environment.

N: "By the way, are you going to take a shower?" A pack of bath towels automatically flew into his hands.

Tu Lanxun nodded and then shook his head, saying warily, "You want to take a bath? No, I'm not saying you can't. Then...then you go first."

N nodded happily and disappeared behind the bathroom door.

Tu Lanxun was playing with his fingers boredly at the cash register. The computer ghost stuck half of her head out and listened to Tu Lanxun talk about Tang Weining. She was shocked again and again.

"Ah, so first his daughter was murdered, then his wife was murdered, but he thought he was the one who did both. He even helped the real murderer hide the bodies. And the real murderer himself was a tool of someone else...someone else. So exciting!"

The computer ghost suddenly became serious: "I think you should be careful of Tang Weining. He's not normal."

"How do you say that?"

"Think about it, this guy's tolerance is too high. After learning the truth about being framed, was he filled with grief and anger? Did he curse at the suspect? Did he collapse in agony?"

Tu Lanxun thought about it. It was true that Tang Weining's attitude towards solving the case was positive, but his personal emotions were within normal limits. It was as if he knew something, or...

Or maybe he was planning to commit suicide.

——The ending is already determined, his heart is dead, and he doesn't want to experience extreme joy or sorrow anymore, but he is still willing to see the whole story.

Tu Lanxun shuddered. At this moment, the bathroom door opened and a faint, cool scent of grass and trees came out, mixed with the smell of shower gel, but it was not damp at all.

N felt as if he had taken a cold shower among the grass and trees. Because of the low temperature, the fragrance of the bath liquid was quickly suppressed by the floating green scent and could no longer be smelled. He said indifferently: "You can go now."

Tu Lanxun felt like he was taking a bath in N's body.

After washing, the smell of milk shower gel on her skin was very light, and it was more of a grassy smell.

She was a little bothered, but after glancing at N's broken eyes, she swallowed her words and packed a big bag, "We can go now."

When they drove back to the north gate of Lunong University, there were still thirty minutes left of the agreed four hours, but it was already night, and they were very concealed under the cover of the night market and the crowds of people.

Tang Weining arrived early, carrying a suitcase, and sneaked into the back seat of the Jetta. "I checked the tickets, there aren't many left. Why don't we buy them in advance?"

Tu Lanxun replied: "I'll buy it at the station."

When the car reached the train station and waited for the red light, Tu Lanxun used Tang Weining's mobile phone to buy a ticket, and the destination was Fu City.

Tang Weining was puzzled: "Isn't going to Fu City on a business trip just a pretext? Liang Wei's hometown is in Micheng. And why buy a green-skinned train? Wouldn't a plane or high-speed rail be more convenient?"

Tu Lanxun nodded. "Fu City and Mi City are both on this train line, one in the middle section and the other in the back section, with three small stations in between. We can just buy a ticket to Fu City and then buy a ticket to Mi City without getting off."

"As for why we don't take a plane or high-speed rail, it's because green trains have a higher tolerance rate and stop at every station, big or small. If we encounter an unexpected situation, we can get off and transfer flexibly."

Tang Weining nodded in a daze. "Miss, you are a secret agent, right? Does the country assign secret agents to study the supernatural? You are so talented!"

After receiving this praise, Tu Lanxun even did a tailspin when driving into the train station parking lot, but it was not very successful and almost hit the spherical stone pillar, in return he received a half-smile warning look from N.

——If she breaks down the car, she’s done for.

The car was parked in the long-term parking area. After paying the fee, Tu Lanxun and Tang Weining ran to the security check to wait for the train. Time was tight, as the train they had bought tickets for was scheduled to depart in 22 minutes.

Fifteen minutes later, Tu Lanxun and Tang Weining ran breathlessly through the ticket gate, stepped onto the platform, jumped into the nearest carriage, and walked back according to their numbers. Before they reached their destination, the train started moving and the platform slowly drifted away.

Tu Lanxun bought a sleeper ticket, with one upper berth and one lower berth, diagonally across from the same doorway. If he bought a hard seat, he didn't know where to put Mr. N.

Tang Weining very gentlemanly asked Tu Lanxun to stay in the lower bunk and said, "Just call me if you see any weirdos." After climbing up, he gave Tu Lanxun a concerned look.

When they arrived at the social scene, Tang Weining treated Tu Lanxun as a student and took good care of her, as she was also of the same age as a student.

Tu Lanxun and N were sitting side by side on the lower bunk. There was an old lady on the lower bunk opposite them. There were no passengers on the two middle bunks for the time being. There was a young man on the upper bunk right above their heads.

The old lady peeled an orange and painted the blue xiao with it, smiling: "Little girl, moisten your throat."

Tang Weining looked down from the railing of the upper bunk across from him and said in time, "Hey, I'm thirsty. Can you give me one of your oranges?"

Tu Lanxun stood up and handed the peeled orange to Tang Weining. Tu Lanxun saw that Tang Weining did not eat it, but just put it deep in the bunk where the old lady could not see it. He also gave her a "warning" look.

But the next second, the old lady peeled another orange, glanced at it, and whispered mysteriously: "Girls, do you know each other..."

Tu Lanxun suppressed a smile and said, "I know him." N beside him had already nodded, so Orange was fine. The old lady and Tang Weining both regarded each other as bad guys and were on guard.

The carriage was filled with a strong smell of instant noodles and sweet oranges. The train swayed forward. Tang Weining suddenly sent a message to Tu Lanxun - they had added each other before - saying that he had talked to Tang Pengan.

The message was sent by Tang Pengan, asking whether Tang Weining was still in Lucheng. According to the lie he had made up before, Tang Weining said that he was on his way to Fu City. In this way, even if Tang Pengan wanted to pursue him, he would only be disappointed in Fu City.

Send me a screenshot of the chat history.

Tang Weining: Why are you asking this?

Tang Pengan: Hi, I have to go out for something recently, and I was wondering if you could take care of Xiaoguang for two days.

Tang Weining: What about Xiaoguang?

Tang Pengan: There’s no other way, just send her to Liang Wei’s second aunt’s house.

Tang Weining: Then don’t forget to give them some money.

Tu Lanxun raised his eyebrows. Tang Pengan had indeed made some unusual moves, but the message was sent after they got on the bus. It was too late to catch up with him now, not to mention that the destination was wrong from the beginning.

There were still five hours to reach Fu City and seven hours to reach Mi City. Tu Lanxun relaxed and prepared to take a nap on the train. However, she was sitting on the outside - to prevent others from sitting here - and a reckless passenger walked by. The train happened to shake, and the lid of his thermos was not on, so the tea spilled on Tu Lanxun's leg. Fortunately, it was not too hot.

"It's okay." Tu Lanxun stood up, glanced at the bunk above her, and told Tang Weining to keep an eye on her bag. "I'll just go to the sink and take care of it."

She walked against the flow of people to the connection between the carriages. The carriage next to her had hard seats. A passenger with his back to her was wearing a funny woolen hat. Tu Lanxun couldn't help but take a look. She wiped her pants with a wet face towel and walked back with the cold wind blowing against her legs.

We have to hurry, otherwise Tang Weining's vision will be limited, and who knows if there will be any thieves coming over.

The night outside the window was slightly bright. They had already left the city. The train seemed to have taken Tu Lanxun, the ghost, and themselves out of an unknown vortex, temporarily hiding them in the unknown wilderness and darkness.

Tu Lanxun had only taken a few steps when the man with the strange hat in the hard seat compartment next to her turned around and stared at her back.

Tang Pengan adjusted his posture, his expression a little subtle, and looked down at the photo of Tu Lanxun that he had just taken with the front camera.

——Who is this girl? Why is his runaway brother with her?

——Could it be that she also knows about 10110101?

Tu Lanxun was supposed to have a sleepless night, and Tang Weining offered to keep watch, but with N sitting beside her, she couldn't lie down at all.

But when she passed through the tunnel in the middle of the night and was awakened by the light and shadow outside, she found herself lying on the bed, and N was sitting on a small chair opposite the berth.

Tang Weining was climbing down from the upper bunk and smiled at her, "We'll be in Fu City in half an hour. I'll contact the conductor to pay for the extra ticket."

Tu Lanxun perked up, but waves of sleepiness kept coming over her. She asked N to watch over the berth and walked to the train connection to wash her face. She turned off the faucet and almost bumped into Tang Weining when she turned around.

The other person had already put on his coat and seemed in a good mood. Tu Lanxun asked, "Are you all done?"

"Okay." Tang Weining replied, his voice very soft in the night.

The train had slowed down. Tu Lanxun nodded: "Ten minutes left, we're almost there, get ready to get off."

She was about to go back when Tang Weining suddenly stopped her. He stammered, "Um... there's something I didn't tell you before... can we go to the dining car and talk about it?"

The dining car is on the other side of the blue-painted carriage.

Tu Lanxun agreed, and the two of them walked forward, one in front and the other behind, against the constantly passing light and shadows, and weaving among the sleeping passengers. Suddenly, the sound of someone playing a short video escaped from somewhere, causing a few impatient smackings of lips.

When she reached the next carriage, her steps paused, she hesitated slightly, and stood there for a while before taking another step.

Tang Weining: "What's wrong with you?"

Tu Lanxun smiled and said, "It's okay. I just felt a little uncomfortable in my stomach in the middle of the night."

The dining car was empty, with rows of dark seats. Tang Weining finally stopped, turned around, and looked at Tu Lanxun, half of his face buried in the shadows.

Tu Lanxun: "You're so mysterious. What on earth do you want to say?"

"Tang Pengan."
