Chapter 203 Chang'an

The man stood up and respectfully cupped his hands in greeting to Gu Lili.

He observed for a moment and realized that the young woman in front of him seemed to be in charge of the household.

As he looked at Gu Lili, Gu Lili was also looking at him.

Judging from his polite demeanor, he must be an educated person.

"No need to be polite, but what should we call you?" Gu Lili was a little stumped.

The person is staying at home, but how should we address them?

The man was equally perplexed; he genuinely couldn't remember his own name.

"How about we call you Chang'an?"

Gu Lili thought for a moment and casually gave the man in front of her a name.

Everyone looked at Gu Lili, who smiled and explained, "Judging from his appearance, he must have suffered a lot. Chang'an just hopes that he will have a long and peaceful life in the future. What do you think?"

As Gu Lili spoke, she looked at the man in front of her.

The man thought for a moment, then smiled gently and said, "Thank you for bestowing a name upon me, young lady!"

Chang'an, that sounds really nice.

Gu Lili nodded and said, "Okay, then Chang'an, you should take good care of yourself these next few days. Once you're better, you can help me with the work!"

Chang'an nodded and got up to go back to his room to rest.

I don't know why, but I haven't felt this peaceful in a long time. I just finished eating, and now I'm sleepy again.

Li Tiansheng was afraid that Chang'an was not familiar with Gu Lili's house, so he got up and escorted him back to his room.

Perfect timing! I'll show him the layout of the house so he doesn't go to the wrong room.

Li Tiansheng pointed to the outhouse by the door and said, "Chang'an, look, that's the outhouse. If you need to relieve yourself, go over there. The one with the man's portrait painted on the door is the men's room. Don't go to the wrong one!"

There are quite a few women in the family, plus people who come to do chores. If someone goes to the wrong place, they'll definitely get a beating.

Chang'an looked in the direction Li Tiansheng pointed, then nodded to indicate that he understood.

Suddenly, a white shadow caught Chang'an's attention.

So it was chasing the wind!

Zhui Feng also looked towards Chang'an, his eyes filled with longing.

Chang'an felt that Zhuifeng seemed somewhat familiar, and his steps moved uncontrollably toward the cattle pen.

Seeing this, Li Tiansheng also chased after them.

"This is the horse my Lili bought, named Chasing Wind, isn't it beautiful! This horse is so proud, it only lets Lili touch it, you're too little..."

Li Tiansheng was smugly introducing Zhuifeng to Chang'an, but before he could finish speaking, Chang'an's hand had already touched Zhuifeng's head.

Just when Li Tiansheng thought that Zhuifeng was going to spit at Chang'an, he didn't expect that Zhuifeng would affectionately rub its head back and forth in Chang'an's palm.

The mocking smile that Li Tiansheng was about to give froze on his face.

"Oh my god, this is unbelievable!" Li Tiansheng couldn't help but exclaim.

Li Tiansheng has been feeding Zhuifeng hay whenever he has free time these past few days, but even so, it still won't let him touch it.

Chang'an was only here for the first time, and he was already touched!

She even acts like a kitten or puppy, being affectionate!

That's absolutely infuriating.

The noise Li Tiansheng made attracted Gu Lili and the others out of the kitchen.

"Third Uncle, what happened?" Gu Lili asked.

The group looked towards where Li Tiansheng and Chang'an were, and were stunned by the scene before them.

Li Tiansheng curled his lip and said, "Lili, look at Zhuifeng. I feed it every day, but it won't let me touch it. Chang'an is only here for the first day, and it's already chasing after him. Humph!"

As he spoke, Li Tiansheng glared at Zhuifeng a few times with dissatisfaction.

Zhui Feng seemed to understand Li Tiansheng's words and reluctantly took his head off Chang'an's palm.

It screeched toward Li Tiansheng.

Seeing this, Li Tiansheng quickly jumped a few feet away, afraid that Zhui Feng would spit on him again.

Seeing this, everyone couldn't help but cover their mouths and chuckle.

Li Tiansheng felt increasingly aggrieved.

Gu Lili laughed and said, "Third Uncle, why are you acting like a child? But Zhui Feng is indeed acting strangely. Maybe he's destined to be with Chang'an!"

Everyone nodded in agreement; that's probably how it should be.

Otherwise, there's no way to explain it.

Chang'an patted Zhuifeng's head, and then Li Tiansheng escorted him back inside.

"By the way, Yun Chu, did you go and ask about Uncle Zhang's situation this morning?" Gu Lili asked.

Because of what happened in Chang'an, Gu Lili had almost forgotten about this matter.

Gu Yunchu nodded and said, "Sister, I went to ask around when it was just getting light. Sister Dahua said that Uncle Zhang's fever had subsided and he had regained consciousness."

Gu Yun Chu would never forget this.

"Okay, let's eat then. We still have a lot to do later!" Gu Lili nodded.

It's good that Uncle Zhang's fever has subsided. If it hadn't, we would have had to hurry and take him to town to get checked out.

Since Chang'an had eaten most of the breakfast, Old Mrs. Li cooked some wild vegetable porridge.

After finishing their meal, everyone went about their own business.

For several days in a row, Gu Lili was busy.

Finally, on the tenth day, Gu Lili made all the candy that Han Changlin needed.

"Lili, here's the money for the candy. Please count it." Han Mingyue smiled and handed the banknotes to Gu Lili.

Han Changlin has been busy with other things lately, and since Han Mingyue is in Guzhuang, he doesn't need to come here.

It's a good idea to entrust this matter to Han Mingyue.

Gu Lili counted the money in Han Mingyue's hand, and after confirming that it was correct, she put the money into her pocket.

Gu Lili smiled faintly, "This money is just right. It's just that grain prices have gone up these days. Tell your older brother that next time he wants maltose, this price won't be enough!"

Although the price of grain in Gu Lili's trading space is not rising, she still can't sell it to Han Changlin at that price.

Han Changlin was going to sell it for money anyway, so there was no need for him to work himself to death to make money for the Han family.

Han Mingyue nodded and said, "Okay, I will write to my elder brother about this later."

In fact, the reason Han Changlin ordered so much maltose this time was because he already knew that grain prices would rise in the second half of the year.

The reason Gu Lili didn't raise prices was that she wanted to use the Han family's reputation to promote her candy.

In this way, even if any conflicts arise with the Han family later, it will be easier for me to open up the market for maltose.

Gu Lili nodded, then got up to see the guest out.

Han Mingyue looked at Gu Lili with a hint of something unsaid.

"Mingyue, is there anything else you want to say?" Gu Lili asked, puzzled.

After thinking about it, Han Mingyue decided to tell him.

"Lili, I'm so sorry. Last time I thought you were sick, and I was worried about you."

After Gu Yun Chu learned that Gu Li Li was not sick, she went to tell Han Ming Yue.

Stop cursing your own sister!
