Suddenly, Gu Lili seemed to have thought of something.
He quickly ran all the way back to his home.
The uncles and elders were left looking at each other, bewildered, as Gu Lili's figure receded into the distance.
"Uh...maybe we don't have enough firewood?" Tie Dan's father chuckled dryly.
Before long, everyone saw Gu Lili running back with a wooden bucket in her arms.
Gu Lili ran to the stream, filled a bucket with water, and headed towards the fire.
Reaching the fire, Gu Lili poured all the water from the bucket onto the scorching hot stones, then grabbed the bucket and ran forward as fast as she could.
Just as everyone was wondering what was going on, they heard a loud bang coming from the fire.
"Bang!"
The stone actually exploded, and the flying debris flew out of the foundation.
Everyone was so frightened that they retreated.
After a while, when there was no more noise, Tie Dan's father wanted to go over and see what was going on.
Gu Lili quickly reached out to stop Tie Dan's father, "Uncle, if we go over there later, it might explode again!"
As soon as Gu Lili finished speaking, another "bang" rang out.
The stones in the foundation exploded again.
Tie Dan's father immediately stopped in his tracks. After about the time it takes to drink a cup of tea, and when he heard no more noise, he mustered up his courage and went over to investigate.
Gu Lili followed behind Tie Dan's father to the foundation for a look.
The boulder has been blasted open in many places, but it's still not deep enough.
After discussing it, the group decided to continue blasting the rocks.
"Uncles and elders, if you have any extra firewood, bring it over, and I'll charge you!" Gu Lili said with a smile.
Tie Dan's father waved his hand and said, "There's plenty of firewood all over the mountain, we don't need any money. We can just go back and get some more!"
Everyone agreed and went back to fetch firewood.
Gu Lili silently kept track of how many loads of firewood each person carried.
After several rounds of blasting, the foundation was finally completed before lunchtime.
With the boulder no longer blocking the way, the construction of the house can now proceed smoothly.
It should be within a month or two before Gu Lili and her three siblings can move into their new house.
After lunch, Gu Lili took out the ready-made clothes she had bought yesterday and distributed them.
They each bought a set: Gu Lili got her own green dress, and Gu Huanhuan got a pale yellow one.
Both Gu Erniu and Gu Sigou wore dark blue.
These garments are made of satin, which is far superior to the coarse cloth clothes they usually wear.
The three of them couldn't help but gasp in amazement when they saw the clothes in Gu Lili's hands.
Gu Lili also bought four hairpins from the mall, which were just right for the group of them.
The three of them were reluctant to wear the coarse cloth clothes they had made before, so they would probably be even more reluctant to wear these satin clothes.
Since Gu Lili wants to do business, she naturally needs to dress better.
As the saying goes, respect clothes before respecting people.
Dressing nicely saves a lot of trouble.
"Sister, this is something only rich people in the city wear, it looks so good!" Gu Huanhuan exclaimed.
Gu Erniu and Gu Sigou stared at the clothes in front of them, feeling somewhat helpless. They wanted to reach out and touch them, but were afraid that the calluses on their hands would damage the fabric.
Gu Lili laughed and said, "Clothes don't need to be divided into rich people and poor people. Just buy them and wear them!"
Without waiting for a reply, he handed the clothes in his hand to the three of them.
"Go try it on! Once you've changed your clothes, come over here and I'll comb your hair!"
The three siblings obediently took the clothes to change, and Gu Lili also changed into her new dress.
After Gu Huanhuan changed her clothes first, Gu Lili then styled Gu Huanhuan's hair.
Gu Lili not only bought clothes, but also shoes and matching hair accessories.
The hair accessories I bought weren't expensive gold or silver hairpins, but rather four exquisitely carved wooden hairpins.
There are also four different colored hairbands; Gu Huanhuan's is yellow, which matches her dress.
Gu Lili's is light green, while Gu Erniu and Gu Sigou's are moon white and blue, respectively.
Since they were in a village, they couldn't afford to have an overly elaborate hairstyle, so Gu Lili tied Gu Huanhuan's hair up high, tied it with a hairband, and inserted a hairpin into the bun.
Gu Huanhuan has been eating better lately, and her face has gotten fuller, making her look chubby and adorable. With her new clothes and hair accessories, she looks incredibly cute.
With her big, dark, bright eyes and long, fluttering eyelashes, she's sure to grow up to be a beauty.
Gu Lili handed a tiny mirror, no bigger than the palm of her hand, which she had bought in her spatial storage, to Gu Huanhuan and said with a smile, "Take a look, which little girl is so cute!"
When Gu Huanhuan saw herself in the mirror, she was first startled, and then she realized that it was actually her reflection.
She had never seen her own face so clearly before; she had only ever seen it underwater. She never imagined that she would actually look like this.
Gu Huanhuan's face turned bright red, and she said, "Sister, stop teasing me!"
Gu Lili couldn't help but burst into laughter.
"Sister, what are you chatting about so happily?" Gu Sigou trotted out of his shack.
Gu Huanhuan quickly shook her head, signaling Gu Lili not to tell Gu Sigou.
Gu Erniu followed closely behind, though his gait seemed a little awkward.
"Erniu, are the clothes too small?" Gu Lili asked, amused.
Gu Erniu shook his head repeatedly, saying, "No, no, it's just that these clothes are too nice, I don't even know how to wear them!"
Seeing his awkward and hesitant manner, the three siblings couldn't help but burst out laughing.
Gu Erniu scratched his head and laughed along with the three of them.
Gu Sigou leaned close to Huanhuan and said, "Third Sister, you look so beautiful today!"
The blush that had disappeared from Gu Huanhuan's face instantly returned.
Gu Huanhuan pointed at Gu Sigou's head and scolded playfully, "You're so sweet-talking!"
After playing around for a while, Gu Lili started combing Gu Erniu and Gu Sigou's hair.
Gu Lili was very skillful; in no time, he had styled both of their hair into a bun.
She tied her hair up with a ribbon and then inserted a wooden hairpin.
Looking at her two brothers with their new looks, Gu Lili couldn't help but admire them.
"Yes, my cooking skills are really good!"
A change of clothes and a change of hairstyle can elevate one's overall look.
Gu Huanhuan quickly handed the mirror in her hand to the two of them to look at themselves. At first, the two of them were startled by their reflection in the mirror, but then they were amazed.
Gu Lili felt that her two younger brothers didn't seem like farmers at this moment, but rather like two scholars.
"Wow, Erniu, Sigou, you two really look like scholars!" Zhang Dahua's loud voice came from the courtyard gate.
The name Gu Erniu and Gu Sigou instantly brought Gu Lili back to reality. Just by listening to their names, they didn't sound like scholars at all!
Gu Erniu and Gu Sigou both smiled somewhat embarrassedly. Gu Erniu, in particular, had a face that was almost as red as a monkey's bottom.
Gu Lili felt it was time to change their names.
