Chapter 45 Homeless?

Chapter 45 Homeless?

Sometimes Fu Yanzun really couldn't tell which of this girl's words were true and which were false. Just a moment ago she was acting nonchalant and carefree, but in an instant she turned into a pitiful little kitten.

"Homeless?"

Tang Wan'er suddenly switched to playing the victim mode, "That's right, didn't you see it at the restaurant just now? I made that guy I was on a blind date with run away. If I go home now, my dad will break my legs, you believe me?"

The man Tang Wan'er went on a blind date with was so fat it was nauseating.

"Blind dates are all about first impressions, right? You're so young, why would your dad arrange a blind date with a man like that?"

Tang Wan'er shrugged and sighed deeply. "To tell you the truth, I'm not actually my biological child, and my stepmother really dislikes me. She always bullies me at home, and they both wish they could marry me off as soon as possible to prevent me from taking a share of the family property."

So no matter what kind of man he is, as long as he's willing to accept me, that's fine. After all, you know my family's current situation is terrible; normally, no one would choose to marry into our family. It's not like it's a blatant attempt to...

Is it a losing proposition?

In that case, Fu Yanzun felt that what she said earlier made some sense; only those who are not biological children would be treated this way.

"So, uncle, please take me in for a few days. I'll go back after my dad calms down. I don't want to lose an arm or a leg; I'm still so young."

Fu Yanzun looked at her noncommittally. He felt sorry for her, but what was it like for a man to have a young girl living in his home?

If word gets out, it will affect her reputation. He, a grown man, doesn't care, but she's not married yet, and it wouldn't be good if people spread rumors that she's living with a man.

If it were true, that would be fine, but the two of them really have no relationship whatsoever.

Just then, the doorbell rang.

Fu Yanzun glanced subconsciously at the door, then at the clock on the wall. It was already past midnight.

His family rarely has guests, let alone so late at night.

He was about to get up to open the door when he suddenly saw Tang Wan'er hopping and skipping towards the door like a rabbit.

"I'll open the door, I'll open it..."

"

A delivery guy was standing at the door, holding two large bags. "This is your takeout order."

Tang Wan'er took it, thanked her, and closed the door.

Even though the barbecue was wrapped in a bag, the strong smell still wafted out.

Fu Yanzun frowned, a clear look of displeasure on his face.

He has never liked strong flavors, and most of the food he eats is rather bland.

He almost never touches things like barbecue.

One reason is that I don't really like the strong smell of barbecue; I always feel that the smell will linger on my clothes after eating barbecue.

Another reason is that he feels that eating barbecue is too unhealthy, as charcoal-grilled food contains carcinogens and has a high lead content.

But this little girl actually ordered takeout and had it delivered directly to his house?

I could have just stayed at his house for one night, but I ended up picking up something he hates.

"I don't like the smell of barbecue."

Tang Wan'er placed her things on the coffee table in the living room, and then unceremoniously sat down on the floor.
