In less than twenty minutes, they arrived at Xiaojia Village in the suburbs.
The village isn't big, but it's all made up of tenement buildings, which are low-rent housing units prepared for migrant workers.
"Brother Lin, that's Xiao Xiaohu's house up ahead."
Ah Liang pointed to a small two-story building with a courtyard not far away.
At the same time, park the car in an open space.
"Brother Liang."
As soon as the two got out of the car, a thin young man came to greet them.
"Gangzi, how's the surveillance going? Are they inside?"
Ah Liang asked in a deep voice.
"He's been staying on the ground all morning and hasn't come out."
Gangzi nodded, "We'll take turns keeping watch, they can't escape."
"Come on, take us to see what's going on."
Ah Liang waved his hand and followed.
Lin Fan followed suit and stepped forward.
"You guys, go and keep watch on both sides, lest he get desperate and run away."
Ah Liang directed two people to split up and guard the courtyard wall.
"good!"
After finding their spots, the group looked ready for anything.
"The door is locked from the inside."
Ah Liang went up and pushed the door, only to find it locked tight.
"Shall we climb over the wall and get in?"
Gangzi stood by, eager to try, hoping his hard work would be noticed.
"No need for that trouble."
Lin Fan looked around but couldn't find any tools to pry open the door.
However, he saw a thin wire on the ground, picked it up, and folded it back and forth in his hand a couple of times.
It was aligned with the keyhole of the door and turned.
"Crack!"
In just over ten seconds, the lock on the door opened.
"Brother Lin, I didn't know you had this trick up your sleeve!"
Ah Liang gave a thumbs up.
"It's always good to have more skills!"
Lin Fan said with a smile, then pushed the door open.
Since things have come to this point, there's no need to be sneaky.
As long as someone is inside, they absolutely cannot escape.
There were two or three vans and a few motorcycles parked in the yard.
The license plates had all been removed; it was obvious that these were not legitimate vehicles.
"Go inside and take a look."
Ah Liang directed one of the people, instructing him, "Be careful."
Lin Fan followed the man into the house.
Stepping inside, I was almost driven out by the smoky smell.
The ground was littered with cigarette butts, empty beer bottles, and takeout boxes.
"There's no one inside."
Ah Liang searched the yard for a while and then shouted.
"Did they run away?"
Just as Lin Fan was about to leave, he suddenly noticed a wisp of smoke under the sofa.
