Chapter 52 Playing Dead

Night enveloped the entire city. After resting for half a day, Ah Huang felt that its strength had returned to its peak. It began to rhythmically pull on the iron chain, again and again. Although the iron chain still did not budge, Ah Huang had experience in escaping like this before, and it had extremely strong confidence.

The yard was about 600 square meters, with about a dozen small sheds built with asbestos tiles. Under each shed, a fierce dog was tied up. They were all awakened by Ah Huang's commotion. They looked at the crazy guy pulling in confusion, thinking that Ah Huang was provoking them. So the whole pack of dogs got angry and started to bark and howl wildly.

The five Xia Si dogs that fought alongside Ah Huang in the mountains during the day were also kept in this yard, but they were treated better than these fierce dogs and had their own kennels.

They stood in unison by the kennel fence, watching Ah Huang not far away. Their intelligence was higher than that of the fierce dogs, and they seemed to have seen through Ah Huang's intention to escape, but they did not make a sound.

They held this large creature, capable of fighting wild boars alone, in high esteem, and even hoped that Ah Huang could escape this place.

Ah Huang's strength was quickly exhausted by the frantic pulling. Exhausted, it could only stop to rest. Its neck was also painfully constricted by the collar due to the strong pulling.

It ignored the guys who were roaring at it, and instead lay quietly on the ground, closing its eyes to rest. It hadn't eaten all night and was a little hungry, but thankfully, it had only missed one meal. Before being shot at by these people, it had drunk a lot of wild boar blood.

All night long, Ah Huang kept pulling on the iron chain, but even as dawn broke and the sun rose, the chain remained completely still.

Ah Huang was somewhat discouraged. It was completely exhausted. The intense exertion throughout the night, coupled with the lack of food and water, had left Ah Huang in extremely poor condition.

Ah Huang could endure not eating for a day, but without water, the hunger and thirst were enough to drive it mad. It gave up pulling on the chain, knowing that in its current state, pulling any further would be futile. It lay quietly on the spot, hoping to regain some strength and that someone would bring it some food and water.

The courtyard gate was quickly opened, and Afei, Aqiang, and Junzi walked in together. Ahuang glanced at them coldly a few times, but still didn't move or pay them any attention.

"Haha, this guy must be out of energy, he's not going berserk towards us anymore."

Seeing Ah Huang in this state, Bald Ah Qiang laughed and said, "Ah Fei, I just checked the surveillance footage. This guy has been pulling on the chain all night. Luckily, you listened to me and didn't feed it, otherwise, it really would have broken the chain."

"He doesn't talk about it during the day, but he does it at night. This guy even knows how to avoid people."

Ah Fei chuckled softly, walked up to Ah Huang, and looked at him with admiration in his eyes.

"Ah Fei, aren't you going to feed him today? Won't he starve to death?"

Junzi asked.

"We'll give it some water to drink today, but we'll skip the food. Let's wait another day and give it food when it asks us for it."

Afei replied calmly, then paused and said to Junzi, "Junzi, go and bring over Bawan, and have some fun with this guy."

"Leading eighty thousand?"

Junzi was taken aback and hesitated before saying, "Afei, is this guy really going to fight Bawan in his current state? What if he gets played to death by Bawan?"

"To be played to death by 80,000?"

Afei sneered, "You underestimate it. It's not even certain whether we can get a good deal with 80,000."

"Really?"

Junzi was skeptical, but he still walked to another corner of the yard and led out a jet-black Cane Corso from a separate kennel.

This is a three-and-a-half-year-old male Cane Corso, smaller than Ah Huang, weighing about 120 pounds. Although Ah Fei's main hobby is hunting, since he keeps dogs, dog fighting is inevitable.

This Cane Corso named Bawan is one of his best fighting dogs and is quite famous in the dog fighting circle of Yizhou. Although the Cane Corso's underbite has always been criticized, its moderate size and fierce temperament have led to the emergence of many excellent individuals.

The 80,000 dogs that were led out clearly knew they were about to face a battle. In the early days, the Cane Corso was the best hunting dog in Europe and a natural enemy of the European wild boar, but now they are basically bred as fighting dogs.

In the world of dogfighting, there is only the dogfighting arena. Bawan loves that place. The dogfighting arena is its home. It should live in a place that fills it with passion, rather than spending its life in a mundane and uneventful way accompanying its owner.

When Bawan was led to Ah Huang, it was puzzled. It didn't understand why its master would choose such a sickly opponent for it. It felt that this was a contempt and insult to its strength.

Even so, it dared not defy its master, so all its resentment could only be vented on its opponent. Bawan felt that it had to teach this guy a serious lesson, cripple or kill it, so that its master could once again fully understand the terrifying extent of its strength.

Bawan started barking provocatively at Ah Huang a few times, but Ah Huang ignored the guy. It saw the strong guy and knew that he was quite powerful, and that it was very likely that it would have to fight him.

However, as long as the other dog is still on a leash, he doesn't need to react. Ah Huang felt that his strength had recovered somewhat, but it was still far from his peak, and the severe thirst made him feel extremely uncomfortable at the moment.

Ah Huang seized every second to recover his strength. Even though Ba Wan was standing in front of him, taunting him, Ah Huang remained the same, lying on the ground without moving or getting up. He kept his eyes slightly closed, only using the corner of his eye to observe the actions of the three people and the dog.

The entire courtyard was in an uproar because of the mobilization of 80,000 dogs, and the constant barking of dogs made the place exceptionally lively.

"Ah Fei, is this guy alright? Is he really sick, or is he just pretending to be dead?"

Seeing Ah Huang's indifferent attitude, Ah Qiang asked hesitantly.

"Whether he's faking death or not, we'll find out by testing him. If he gets sick just like that, then there's no point in keeping such a piece of trash. We might as well give him to Bawan for breakfast."

Afei chuckled and said coldly, then turned to Junzi and said, "Unleash the dogs."

"Afei, why aren't you taking off this guy's leash?" Junzi asked, puzzled.

"Untie it?" Afei shook his head and replied, "If we untie it and it runs away, who will chase after it?"

"Let's fight like this. Oh, and you two put on your protective gear. When we're splitting the dog, be careful that this guy doesn't suddenly attack and hurt anyone."

Ah Fei gave another instruction.

“Okay.” A-Qiang nodded, took out two sets of protective gear from the house in the yard and put them aside. Then Junzi led the Casro to a spot not far from Ah Huang and began to untie the leash from the Casro.

Seeing Junzi's actions, Ah Huang knew that another battle was inevitable. It had fought many such battles with Huang Mao San, but there it had always challenged other dogs. Today, however, it had changed its position.

Ah Huang suddenly stood up, looking at the guy in front of him with a wary expression.

"Haha, this guy was definitely faking it."

Upon seeing Ah Huang's actions, Ah Qiang burst into laughter.

Afei chuckled and then gestured to Junzi to unleash the dogs.

As the other party was about to charge at him, Ah Huang was puzzled. Since it was a fight, why didn't these guys untie the chains on his body? Did they expect him to carry such heavy chains while fighting this guy?

Ah Huang was a little annoyed, but his opponent didn't care. As Junzi loosened the leash, the Casro charged at Ah Huang like a madman.

Although the guy opposite seemed to be in better spirits at this moment, in Bawan's eyes, he still looked a bit sickly.

It didn't want to use any other tactics or methods to deal with these guys. Such a battle didn't need to be so complicated. Although the opponents looked a size bigger than itself, there were too many big, dumb guys in this world.

Bawan had great confidence in its physical strength. It felt that it could completely crush this guy head-on. Only by defeating the enemy in one move could it show its master its strongest self. Only by killing it instantly could it fully demonstrate its strength.
