Xu Jiaming replied with a smile, and then took the lead into the row of buildings. One of the houses had a small, independent courtyard at the back, which was blocked off by several rows of steel wire fences. Inside, several fierce dogs that glowed in the night were barking furiously at the person who had suddenly entered.
Xu Jiaming laughed and called out a few times, then turned on the lights. Chen Chongshan looked over and saw four fierce dogs with tiger stripes all over their bodies, each weighing about forty or fifty pounds.
"Tiger stripe?"
Seeing the dogs barking angrily, Chen Chongshan asked with some confusion.
Although he had never seen a Chinese Tiger Dog before, he had some knowledge of this rare breed that originated in Jiangxi Province and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of China.
The Chinese Bracken, once listed as one of the ten famous dogs in the imperial garden of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty, was named "Ban Jin Biao". Its place of origin is Shangrao, Jiangxi Province. In the local area, it was used as a guard dog and hunting dog. It is a very precious breed in need of rescue. Purebred Bracken dogs are very rare to see nowadays.
Brindle dogs are intelligent, loyal, fierce, and very alert, which is why they are often perceived as a very temperamental breed.
In fact, brindle dogs are easy to train and have strong adaptability and disease resistance.
"Haha, that's right, they are tabby, and purebred tabby at that. These four tabby came from the same litter and are now ten months old. I spent a lot of money to find them in Hubei. I even went to Shangrao at first, but I couldn't find a suitable one there."
Xu Jiaming replied smugly.
"Weren't you into fierce dogs and fighting dogs? Why are you now raising hunting dogs?"
Chen Chongshan looked at the majestic tiger stripes in front of him with great admiration, and after praising them a few times, he asked in confusion.
Ah Huang was also very interested in these four guys. It walked back and forth around the wire fence, greeting the four barking dogs.
However, the four brindle dogs, who had just left their familiar homes and arrived in this unfamiliar place, were full of vigilance and were especially wary of Ah Huang, this big guy. They kept barking to embolden themselves and increase their confidence.
"Fighting dogs and hunting dogs are both dogs, aren't they?"
Xu Jiaming smiled and then explained, "To be honest, Wenfei's Xia Si dogs left a deep impression on me last time I was there."
"I think hunting dogs are much more interesting than fighting dogs that only know how to kill, so I've been looking for these tiger stripes. There's a saying that nine out of ten tiger stripes are hunting dogs, so I'm sure these guys won't disappoint me."
"Ten months old is the perfect time for training."
Xu Jiaming continued with a smile.
"Yes, it's a good dog."
Chen Chongshan smiled and nodded: "I'm even a little tempted."
"Haha, don't get tempted, you'll get a share of these guys."
Xu Jiaming said with a smile.
"Is there a share for me?" Chen Chongshan was taken aback and asked with some doubt.
Seeing Chen Chongshan's puzzled expression, Xu Jiaming smiled smugly, paused for a moment before replying, "As you know, hunting is a team activity. There are basically no exceptions like you and Ah Huang who fight alone."
"Now that I've started raising hunting dogs, I'll naturally be going hunting in the mountains in the future. I need a hunting team, so I hope you can join me."
"Although tiger stripes are fierce and aggressive, they are not much bigger than Xia Si and their individual combat ability is not strong. They need a leader dog to lead them, and I think Ah Huang is the best choice."
"There probably aren't many dog leaders better than Ah Huang."
"I see?"
Chen Chongshan suddenly realized that he had no reason to refuse Xu Jiaming's invitation, so he nodded and said, "Okay, no problem."
"Okay, I'll let Wenfei know when the time comes. You shouldn't have any objections, right?"
Xu Jiaming looked at Chen Chongshan and asked.
Chen Chongshan hesitated for a moment, then slowly said, "I'm fine. The matter is over anyway, and Ah Huang wasn't hurt. Besides, I took his money, so I have no reason to hold those things against him anymore."
"Good job, you're a real man, that's impressive!"
Xu Jiaming smiled, and then unexpectedly explained to Chen Chongshan, "Their old man, that is, Deputy Secretary Wen, is almost certain to be promoted after this reshuffle."
"At their level, they are influential figures within a province. My grandfather also needs their support, so there's no need for us to strain our relationship unless absolutely necessary. Besides, Wenfei is indeed a skilled hunter."
"Okay." Chen Chongshan nodded slightly, without saying much. He was very touched that Xu Jiaming was able to explain so much to him. From Xu Jiaming's perspective, there was actually no need to explain these things to him.
However, Chen Chongshan didn't know much about the things Xu Jiaming was considering. The affairs of officialdom were too far removed from him; he had neither the opportunity nor the interest to learn about them.
"This time I went out to find dogs, and I went to many places and saw a lot of hunting dogs. Basically, the hunting dogs used by these hunters are our local breeds. Although most of them are not purebred, they have very good hunting instincts. For example, those mixed-breed brindle dogs are excellent hunting dogs if trained properly."
"After finding these brindle dogs, I started to have a wish: I hope that, if conditions permit, I can collect more purebred native hunting dogs, such as the Inner Mongolia Grassland Dog, the Hubei Yellow Arrow Dog, the Sichuan Eastern Hound, and so on."
Xu Jiaming gestured with his grand plans, his eyes shining with a different kind of brilliance.
Chen Chongshan laughed, calmed Ah Huang who was pacing back and forth, and said with a smile, "Are you going to become a dog-raising expert?"
"I have my own dog farm, so I can be considered a dog breeding expert."
Xu Jiaming said smugly, "I'm just doing what I want to do now."
"Just you wait. Once I succeed in this, I will definitely become the focus of the domestic hunting dog community, and even the fierce dog community."
"At that time, I will have a large hunting dog team. I will select the best hunting dogs of various breeds to form the best hunting team, and then go to the deep mountains and forests all over the country to explore and hunt."
Xu Jiaming spoke with great excitement until Chen Chongshan's stomach growled a few times, at which point he stopped and looked at Chen Chongshan, asking, "What's wrong, Chongshan? You haven't eaten yet?"
"No, Ah Huang only ate breakfast today."
Chen Chongshan answered honestly.
"Damn it, what have you been doing? Abusing Ah Huang?"
Xu Jiaming immediately called out, then picked up his phone and dialed the number inside the villa, instructing the housekeeper to prepare some food and dog food.
After Xu Jiaming hung up the phone, Chen Chongshan finally spoke up to explain, "Chongming was at the hospital for a checkup, and I was at the hospital all day. When I got back in the evening, I was taken directly to the police station. How could I possibly have time to feed Ah Huang?"
"You're so unlucky."
Xu Jiaming shook his head, then asked, "How is your brother's leg?"
"The situation is not bad. The American expert said the chances of recovery are very high."
"That's good. It's at Yaxiang Hospital, right? I know someone there. I'll give them a call tomorrow and put in a good word for you."
"Thank you," Chen Chongshan replied earnestly.
"Why are you thanking me?" Xu Jiaming smiled and shook his head.
"Okay, no thanks needed. But I need to trouble you with something else. Could you help me get that temporary residence permit, and all the dog tags, dog licenses, and other documents that Ah Huang needs? I don't know anything about these things, and if they come to check again, I'll be in trouble."
Chen Chongshan said to Xu Jiaming with a smile.
