Chapter 19 Contract
I don't know if this squirrel can understand her. If it can, then there's still a way. If it can't, then I'll have to cut down the fruit tree and pick the fallen purple fruit.
"Hey? Can you understand me? If you can, then throw me another fruit."
Shen Jue didn't expect the squirrel to respond to her.
But to her surprise, the squirrel actually threw her a fruit.
"Little squirrel, pick all the fruit from the tree for me, and in exchange, I'll give you lots and lots of pine cones, okay?"
The adorable squirrel in the tree tilted its head, seemingly wondering if Shen Jue had lied to it.
The little squirrel moved to a different spot, picked another fruit, and held it tightly in its arms, reluctant to let go.
Shen Jue understood immediately. She took out a basket of pine cones and said, "If you pick all the pine cones from the tree for me, they are all yours."
The little squirrel in the tree saw the pine cones that Shen Jue took out, its eyes shining as it stared intently at the basket of pine cones, clearly recognizing them.
Shen Jue chuckled: "If you agree, just nod. I'll put this basket of pine cones under the tree."
The squirrel nodded very intelligently and then started working. Shen Jue took out another empty basket, and the squirrel dropped one item at a time, which she picked up one by one.
The girl and the squirrel worked together like this. Later, the squirrel felt that Shen Jue was too slow, so it simply threw the fruit it picked into her basket, hitting the center of the basket perfectly.
nice shot!
Thinking the wrong thing, Shen Jue quickly checked the fruit for damage and found that its skin was quite hard and could withstand some rough handling, so she let it be.
Right now, she's lying on the chair, munching on a small watermelon, watching the little squirrel help her with chores, feeling quite content!
The little squirrel in the tree jumped around very quickly, and in no time, her basket was full of purple fallen fruit.
The little squirrel in the tree was working when it realized something was wrong. Why was this two-legged person lying there motionless? Could it be dead?
Then, Shen Jue, who was lying comfortably, was hit on the head with a fruit.
"Ouch, who's got the guts to hit me?"
Shen Jue suddenly came to her senses. There was no one else around. She looked at the fruit next to her, and then at the squirrel in the tree holding the fruit, ready to throw it at her.
Shen Jue suddenly felt a toothache. Was this squirrel too intelligent? Could it have become a spirit?
On closer reflection, it's not impossible. Given the nature of this game system, who knows what other random animals and plants might appear later.
The squirrel in front of her seemed normal enough, but its intelligence was unclear. As for its attack power, she hadn't experienced it, nor did she want to.
The little squirrel in the tree was whimpering; it seemed it wasn't dead. That scared the squirrel half to death!
Then she continued working quickly. After this little incident, Shen Jue was no longer sleepy, so she got up and prepared to find something to do.
This area is an orchard, and the squirrels seem to live here peacefully, so there must be no danger for them.
Why not take a walk and explore? You might even discover something interesting.
You ask why Shen Jue doesn't continue cutting down trees? It's because the wood obtained from cutting down trees requires her to touch the object itself to decompose.
There are so many fruits on this tree, if she were to touch them one by one, it would take her forever.
Meeting such a clever little squirrel is incredibly lucky; her luck stat was definitely not wasted.
Shen Jue wandered around the orchard, and as she wandered, she found a treasure chest that was shimmering with golden light not far away.
There was a line of small text clearly visible on the treasure chest.
(Here's a pet contract. Take it and start your pet journey!)
Great, that's wonderful.
Just as he wished, Shen Jue opened the treasure chest and obtained the contract.
Now that we have the contract, all that's missing is the pet.
Keep up the good work and keep searching; you might just find one you can sign.
