Chapter 21 This joke isn't funny at all.
Shen Jue was somewhat troubled, as she was not very good at controlling her emotions and had not maintained her calmest mind in dangerous situations.
They were so focused on running that they got lost and completely lost their way.
However, she was not discouraged; things hadn't gotten to the worst point yet, had they?
There's still a chance to start over.
If only she had paper and pen back then, she could have drawn a map, even a simple one, so she could at least understand where she was in the area.
Fortunately, things haven't reached the worst point yet. Once the time to land on the island arrives, I can use the landing token to teleport to the raft.
There is still time to explore.
We can't waste any more time.
Shen Jue looked at the dense forest in front of him, where towering ancient trees were everywhere.
The afternoon sunlight filtered through the trees, bringing a little light.
However, the light did not last long. Shen Jue discovered that over time, the light in the forest seemed to be eroded by the large trees.
The entire forest fell into darkness once more, and the immediate feeling she got from this was one of silent stillness and lurking danger.
Should we go in and take a look?
Shen Jue thought uncertainly. She didn't want to turn back into the forest behind her. Although she had run a long way, there was no guarantee that she wouldn't encounter that giant bear if she went back.
Shen Jue was not confident in fighting that giant bear.
Furthermore, there may still be a chance for survival, although the risk factor is high, but there may also be opportunities and treasures to be gained.
Taking a step back and returning to the overgrown bushes behind you would not only risk encountering a giant bear, but would also bring no benefit and be a complete waste of time.
After weighing the pros and cons, Shen Jue decisively chose to enter the ancient forest in front of him.
Nothing ventured, nothing gained; let's risk it all.
Shen Jue lifted his foot and stepped into the woods.
Half an hour later, Shen Jue, who had been frantically running and jumping through the forest, regretted it.
Damn it, she had considered that there might be snakes, insects, rats and ants here, but she didn't expect to run into such a big guy so soon after entering.
This giant python was as thick as three people holding hands, its body was covered with scales, its eyes were like round plates, and its length was unknown. It looked extremely majestic and imposing.
Snakes are said to be spiritual, and the snake behind her was even more so. If her uncle hadn't told her that it was a python, Shen Jue would have thought she had seen a dragon.
However, judging from the appearance of this giant snake, it does seem to be close to transforming into a dragon.
If this were in the real world, it would definitely be a treasure for fans of Anaconda disaster movies.
If the giant snake hadn't been chasing her, Shen Jue would definitely have admired its beauty.
Unfortunately, with life and death at stake, she had no time to appreciate the scenery and was only concerned with escaping.
Are there any other unlucky islanders like her?
How could someone with a luck score of 12 be as unlucky as her!
This is absolutely terrible luck.
While fleeing, Shen Jue suddenly saw a message notification to her father and almost stumbled.
(You can try to tame this giant python, and you'll have immense wealth and power to roam the entire island.)
This was the first time in history that her father-in-law had reminded her through communication.
Could it be that her hints have caused Big Daddy to evolve?
Now they're even making jokes, but these jokes aren't funny at all.
Shen Jue really wanted to shout: "Uncle, do you want to see what you're saying?"
What outrageous things are you spouting?
How could anyone believe that her small frame could subdue this incredibly powerful man behind her who wanted her dead!
She really couldn't bear such immense wealth!
I don't know if the notification sound knew something, but it gave another notification.
(Don't you have a contract?)
With just one sentence, Shen Jue, who was exhausted from running for his life, was instantly revived.
She was only focused on escaping, and all she could think about was how to get away. Such a ferocious creature was never on her list of desired pets.
Shen Jue quickly brought up the contract page to check the contract terms.
There are two types of contracts.
One type is a forced contract, where the desired pet is obtained through a blood pact. However, this type of contracted pet is difficult to control and can easily backfire. But as long as the owner is strong enough, the backfire will not occur.
Another type is the subjugation contract, which will grant the pet absolute loyalty. This type of contract is more difficult to form, requiring the pet to be subjugated and eventually recruited to serve as an excellent helper.
Shen Jue leaned towards the latter, but with her strength, she was no match for the giant python in front of her.
However, she still has a lot of good stuff she acquired before, which she can use to outsmart her.
