"Why?" The Mermaid King frowned. "Is it because of what happened just now that you're dissatisfied with me?"
“No, you’ve misunderstood,” Shen Jue quickly explained, “I just already have someone I like, so I can’t grant your request.”
The Mermaid King's eyes darkened, as if he were somewhat disappointed.
"I see. In that case, I won't force you."
After saying that, the Merman King turned around, seemingly preparing to leave.
However, at this moment, Shen Jue suddenly spoke up: "Mermaid King, please wait a moment."
The Mermaid King stopped and turned around, looking at Shen Jue with a puzzled expression.
"Miss Chen, is there anything else?"
Shen Jue took a deep breath, as if he had made up his mind, and said, "Mermaid King, I know you want to become the King of the East Sea, but I have to tell you that what you are doing is wrong."
The Mermaid King narrowed his eyes slightly, staring at Shen Jue without saying a word.
Shen Jue continued, "It is wrong to achieve your goals by harming others. I hope you can give up this idea and stop hurting others."
The Merman King was silent for a moment, then suddenly laughed.

Shen Jue frowned, trying to persuade the Merman King, "But is the power gained by harming others really what you want?"
"Whatever I want," the Merman King interrupted Shen Jue, "I will sacrifice as many people as I can to achieve my goal."
Shen Jue sighed. She knew she could no longer persuade the Mermaid King.
"In that case, we cannot reach an agreement. Farewell, Mermaid King."
After saying that, Shen Jue turned and left without looking back from the banquet hall.
The Merman King watched Shen Jue's departing figure, a complex expression flashing in his eyes.
He knew that from now on, he and Shen Jue were destined to go down different paths.
