Chapter 352 The Sounds from the Ruins

Upon hearing the shout, Lin Jiao reacted immediately, rolling away to dodge the sweeping iron axe.

The other team members also found cover, temporarily avoiding the monsters' attacks.

Shen Jue's eyes sharpened, and cards flew out of his hand, hitting the tall targets.

The fire card ignited instantly upon contact with its target, the intense flames instantly setting the monsters' fur ablaze. They howled in pain, scattering wildly in an attempt to extinguish the flames.

Taking advantage of this brief respite, the team members quickly retreated into the woods, temporarily escaping danger.

"What exactly are these things?" Lin Jiao asked, still shaken.

Shen Jue frowned. "I don't know either, but what I'm sure of is that they appeared suddenly."

Mu Sheng: "So what should we do next?"

Shen Jue looked around and pondered for a moment. "It's not good to travel at night, and there might be some dangers. Let's find a place to rest first, and continue on our way when it gets light."

"Okay." The group nodded in agreement.

After retreating into the woods, they found a hidden cave, confirmed that no creatures lived there, and set up a barrier card at the entrance before settling down there temporarily.

At night, Shen Jue sat alone at the entrance of the cave, gazing at the stars in the sky, lost in thought.

"What are you thinking about?" Zhao Keke walked over and asked with concern.

Shen Jue shook his head slightly. "I'm just worried that there might be uncontrollable situations when we explore the western route tomorrow."

Zhao Keke sat down next to Shen Jue. "Commander, don't worry. We'll all take good care of ourselves. We may not be the best at anything else, but we're top-notch at running away. Don't worry, we'll definitely succeed tomorrow."

Shen Jue gazed at the stars in the sky, but her mind was on the progress of the side quest. "Thank you for getting up in the middle of the night to comfort me."

"Why are you being so polite with me? Since you're all set, I'll go back and rest." Zhao Keke smiled and patted Shen Jue on the shoulder.

Go!

...

The next day, sunlight streamed through the trees into the cave, and the group woke up. After eating and drinking their fill, they prepared to continue their journey.

Before setting off, Shen Jue instructed, "Everyone must be vigilant and pay attention to safety. If you encounter a situation like yesterday, do not force it, retreat immediately."

"Understood!" they all replied in unison.

During their journey, they encountered several more waves of monster attacks. As Zhao Keke had said, the team members were indeed first-rate at escaping, so Shen Jue didn't need to worry too much.

After a fierce battle, they escaped unharmed. They had successfully navigated this dangerous monster-infested area.

Led by Shen Jue, they completed two-thirds of the western route with their excellent sense of direction.

As they ventured deeper into this desolate land, they gradually discovered some clues.

The further west they went, the more weapon fragments they could see protruding from the ground.

"Why do you think there are so many weapon fragments here?" Lin Jiao asked.

"A large-scale battle once took place here." This was Xia Xiyue.

"But what does the battle that took place here have to do with the instance we're about to explore?" Lin Jiao asked again.

No one could answer Lin Jiao's question immediately.

Just as the atmosphere was becoming a little awkward, a faint rustling sound suddenly came from the ruins not far away.

The sound was even more noticeable in a relatively quiet environment.
