Chapter 385 Pirates (2/2)

Shen Jue extended a finger and gently tapped the little elf amidst its frightened gaze. His fingertip brushed against its soft body, causing the little elf to giggle twice, its tension dissipating considerably.

Once it was certain that the person really wouldn't hurt it, the little elf grew even bolder.

Seeing that the time was ripe, Shen Jue pressed on, "Do you know where the Blazing Flame Spirit Fruit and the Azure Sea Mermaid's Tears are? I urgently need them; I have something very important to do."

The little elf tilted its head and pondered for a moment, then its eyes suddenly lit up: "I know about the Blazing Flame Fruit! On a small island to the south, there's a blazing valley guarded by many terrifying fire beasts. It's very dangerous. My own kind told me about it." As it spoke, it wiggled its fluffy little tail.

Shen Jue was overjoyed and quickly asked, "What about the Blue Sea Mermaid Tears?"

The little elf scratched his head, looking troubled, and said, "I don't really know about that. I've only vaguely heard that it's related to merfolk in the deep sea, but I can't say exactly where. However..."

It blinked its big eyes, flew to Shen Jue's shoulder, and affectionately rubbed its cheek against hers. "Master, you planted so many divine herbs to raise me and you're so good to me. I'll go and find out more for you! I know so many friends in this world, and they're very well-informed."

Shen Jue was taken aback at first, not expecting the little elf to recognize him as her master so quickly. Then, filled with gratitude, she gently patted the little elf's head and said, "Then I'll have to trouble you. If you have any news, come back and tell me as soon as possible. I'll be waiting for you here."

The little elf nodded vigorously, flapped its wings and soared into the sky, drawing a shimmering arc before disappearing in an instant.

Shen Jue gazed in the direction the little elf had left, her heart filled with anticipation mixed with a touch of worry. She paced back and forth by the herb field, time seeming to stretch on endlessly, each second tormenting her anxious heart. She could only hope that the little elf would bring back good news to help her gather the herbs to break the curse as soon as possible.

After the little elf left, Shen Jue stayed by the herb field, unable to rest day or night.

Every gust of wind, every flicker of light, could make her look up, her heart filled with anxiety.

Fortunately, she didn't have to wait long. As the sky brightened, a lively little dot gradually became clear. The little sprite, carried by the wind, rushed back eagerly and excitedly.

"Master! I found out!" The little sprite chirped excitedly as soon as it landed on Shen Jue's shoulder. "The Azure Sea Mermaid's Tears is hidden in a cave behind the Mermaid Reef in the misty sea to the east, heavily guarded by merfolk. The Blazing Flame Spirit Fruit is on that small island to the south I mentioned, next to the fiery spring in the center of the Blazing Valley. The surrounding fire beasts are extremely ferocious!"

Shen Jue's eyes lit up; the gloom of the past few days was swept away by this good news. She thanked the little sprite repeatedly and reached out to tease it, making it somersault in the air. In the days that followed, Shen Jue took meticulous care of the Ice Soul Snow Lotus. With the little sprite's help, the snow lotus finally matured, its translucent petals fully unfurled, shimmering with frost.

She followed the method and picked the root. The moment it entered her mouth, the icy cold energy flowed through her limbs and bones, the curse on her body eased, and her health points stabilized. She could maintain 40 health points without relying on high-level recovery potions, and drinking a potion could raise it to 50, greatly restoring her vitality.

Shen Jue packed his bags, grabbed his tools, and was about to call the little elf to set off when ominous dark clouds rose at the horizon, and ships began to break through the waves.

The ship's hull was decorated with eerie carvings, and a mysterious figure shrouded in black robes stood at the bow, his gaze sweeping around until it locked onto Shen Jue's island.

Shen Jue's gaze darkened. "A guest has arrived?"

They seem to be coming on strong!

The little sprite whispered frantically in Shen Jue's ear, "Master, it's the Black Shark Pirates! The fiercest bunch at sea, they'll do anything!"

Shen Jue's heart tightened, and he immediately activated the island's barrier. A pale blue light curtain rapidly rose, enveloping the entire island.

She is currently weak and cannot withstand any further damage.

First, hide and lie in ambush!

The pirate ship was getting closer, but it was unexpectedly stopped by an unnamed force.

"A protective barrier?" Upon seeing this, the black-robed man at the bow of the ship took a deep sniff.

"This island has the scent of divine medicine. Brothers, let's go ashore!"
