Chapter 22: Do 100 Questions First
It may be that Huang Ling didn't make enough noise these few times, causing Zhuang's mother to start offending again.
She asked Zhuang Ganmei to send her two sons over.
When Huang Ling returned home in the afternoon, Zhendong and Zhenbei were playing with Lin Dongzhe in the yard.
Xiaoting watched from the side while Tunan studied in the room.
Zhuang Chaoying came forward and said, "A-Ling! Mom sent Zhendong and Zhenbei here to stay for two days, and asked Tunan to teach them."
Huang Ling looked at him, her eyes as cold as ice.
He knew his bottom line, but he still did it out of pity.
"A Ling..."
"Come in."
Zhuang Chaoying followed Huang Ling into the house. He wanted to explain, saying that he would stay for two days before being sent back. Before he could stand firmly, Huang Ling slapped him in the face.
"I've said it before, they're children and I can't let them go hungry, but give them your rations and you can take care of dinner tonight yourself."
Tuanan only heard the sound, and when he looked up, his mother had almost finished beating him accurately and ruthlessly.
At the glance of Huang Ling, Tuanan lowered his head and did his homework obediently.
Then, she opened the door and called out to the yard, "Zhendong, Zhenbei, come back and do your homework!"
"Auntie, what homework are you doing?" Zhendong asked.
"Your parents didn't send you here to play! They sent you here to study, so from now on, besides eating and sleeping, you all have to study hard! You have to do your homework as long as Brother Tunan takes!"
Zhendong and Zhenbei were reluctant to come in.
Zhenbei finally remembered and said, "I didn't bring my homework!"
"Don't worry, I have notebooks and pens at home. I'll give you some exercises! I guarantee you'll be in the top five on your exams! Start by doing 100 addition and subtraction problems each!"
Huang Ling started asking questions without saying a word.
Zhendong and Zhenbei were almost crying.
Math is scary, and my aunt is scary too.
Huang Ling quickly gave the questions and asked the two to sit down.
Zhendong and Zhenbei were reluctant to enter the house.
"You have to do it! Your parents have entrusted you to me, so I must keep a close eye on you!" Huang Ling said sternly.
"Then why, why doesn't Xiaoting have to do it?" Zhenbei pointed to the Lin family.
Just now, Huang Ling asked Xiaoting to go to Dongzhe's house to play.
"Xiaoting has finished her summer homework! Besides, Xiaoting is in the top three in the class, and you two are second to last and third to last! If you don't do the homework, you'll be last!"
She drove the two into the house and asked them to do some homework.
"Tunan, time and measure them. You can't just sit there and play."
Zhendong and Zhenbei looked at each other and began to wipe their tears.
Tunan took a look and shook his head, saying, "My mom is doing this for your own good. Look, 12+9 equals 11. Forget about going to junior high school. You won't even be able to count money in the future."
With their brother's supervision, the two had no choice but to do the questions obediently.
I was just looking forward to it coming soon during dinner time, and I felt my butt was numb.
Xiaoting entered the Lin family's house. Dongzhe had no one to play with in the yard, so he went into the house and read picture books with Xiaoting.
Song Ying brought mung bean soup to the two of them.
"Shh!" Song Ying made a gesture to keep quiet.
The two children laughed and understood, then picked up their bowls and drank silently.
Dongzhe whispered to his mother: "Does Tunan have it?"
Only after Song Ying nodded did he start drinking with peace of mind.
During dinner.
Huang Ling was not playing tricks, and there was an empty bowl in front of Zhuang Chaoying.
He ate his food in silence.
While eating, Zhendong said to Zhuang Chaoying, "Uncle, please take us home later! Please!"
"Oh, your parents asked you to stay for two more days!" Zhuang Chaoying looked at Huang Ling.
Huang Ling didn't say anything.
"I don't want to stay here, I want to go home! I want to go home! Wow!!" Zhenbei put down the bowl and started crying.
"That won't work! You haven't finished the questions yet!" Huang Ling reminded lightly.
Zhendong also put down the bowl and started crying.
"Hey, why are you crying? Just go back! Stop crying, stop crying! Eat! Eat first!" Zhuang Chaoying hurriedly comforted.
"Then will you take us home?" The two children looked at him with tears in their eyes.
"Okay, don't cry. I'll take you home after dinner." Zhuang Chaoying glanced at Huang Ling.
He felt that Huang Ling's eyes looked even colder when she looked at him.
When the two nephews heard Zhuang Chaoying say that he would send them back, they let down their guard and started to eat voraciously, saying that there was no meat while they were eating.
Zhuang Chaoying just listened without saying anything.
Huang Ling gave Tuanan and Xiaoting a look, and the two of them immediately ate their rice voraciously, and the three of them finished quickly.
At this time, Huang Ling stood up and cleaned up the dishes.
"Aunt, I haven't finished eating yet." The two nephews said in unison.
"We don't have meat at home, so you won't be full. Go back to your own home and eat meat later! Your family must have meat. Your uncle uses his salary to buy meat for your family." Huang Ling glanced at Zhuang Chaoying.
When Zhuang Chaoying heard this, his face turned red.
He always thought that children should suffer a little, but his nephew ate meat while his son and daughter were not full. If Huang Ling hadn't said anything, he would not have thought it was a big deal. Now he thinks that Huang Ling should be angry.
After eating, he took the meal to the kitchen and said to Huang Ling:
"I'll take them home first. I'm afraid there won't be a bus if it's too late. Leave the dishes here and I'll wash them when I get back."
Huang Ling didn't answer him and turned into the house.
Zhuang Chaoying took Zhendong and Zhenbei back to the Zhuang family.
As soon as he left, Huang Ling started to greet everyone: "Dongzhe! Tunan! Xiaoting!"
Everyone ran to the kitchen and saw that Huang Ling had set up an iron rack on the coal stove and was baking rice cakes on the rack.
Song Ying laughed: "Sister Ling, how can you eat roasted rice cakes in the middle of summer?"
"I happened to see someone selling them quietly today. They're not too cheap, so I bought two. They won't last all winter! I might as well roast them and eat them! There's plenty! You and Mr. Lin get some too!"
"Then I'll make the brown sugar juice!" Song Ying suggested.
“Do you have any brown sugar left?”
“Yes, I just bought it!”
"You're coming soon, save some for the next few days, I have plenty at home!"
"Oh! That's enough to drink! Tunan is growing up and studying hard, so you should save some for him!"
After a few words, Huang Ling and Song Ying felt warm in their hearts.
People who care about you will always think about how to be good to you, rather than how much benefit they can get from you.
Huang Ling was sweating profusely while grilling, and Song Ying was about to take over, but it was Lin Wufeng who took over instead.
"You always burn it. You have no patience at all! Let me do it!"
The children were not afraid of the heat and gathered around to watch.
Lin Wufeng explained the physics knowledge related to fire to the three children.
Tunan listened with great interest, and Dongzhe touched his belly and asked his father:
"Dad, is there any fire that can make it faster?"
"Samadhi True Fire." Xiaoting said what was in the picture book just now.
Everyone was almost dying of laughter at her.
Lin Wufeng laughed so hard that he almost dropped the rice cake, Tunan laughed out of the kitchen, and Dongzhe laughed so hard that he held onto the wall and rubbed his stomach.
After Huang Ling and Song Ying prepared the brown sugar juice, they didn't know what happened, so they were concerned about the rice cake first.
"Fall into the fire! Lin Wufeng! Such a good thing is wasted!" Song Ying reached out to slap Lin Wufeng.
"No, no, no, no, hahahaha!"
The two looked at them and laughed, confused.
After baking, Huang Ling used a pair of large scissors to cut the rice cake into small pieces and poured sugar syrup on them for them to eat.
The half-grown child gets hungry right after eating and eats piece after piece happily.
Zhuang Chaoying was hungry and took Zhendong and Zhenbei back to the Zhuang family.
