Chapter 356: Acrostic Poem
During the lunch break, everyone went outside to play ball or have fun, and there were not many people in the classroom. Pengfei told Xiaoting and Dongzhe that Zhuang Chaoying had been away for two months and had returned two days ago.
"It seems that your grandparents have been through a lot." Dongzhe leaned lazily on the chair with his legs on the table.
He sat diagonally across the corridor from Xiaoting and could see her as soon as he turned around.
"That's for sure. It would be strange if he behaved honestly." Pengfei sat on the bench in front of Xiaoting, next to Dongzhe, which was someone else's seat.
Xiao Ting straightened the notebook in her hand with an expressionless face. The corners of the notebook were already curled up. She said calmly:
"I see a good side to this. My brother finally doesn't have to go to my grandparents' house anymore. If he wants my brother to go again, my mother will definitely not agree."
"I don't have to go. My aunt is determined not to let me go." Pengfei seemed relieved.
Xiaoting was tidying up when suddenly a piece of colorful letter paper fell out of the notebook.
She picked it up and glanced at it, her expression startled.
Pengfei noticed her expression first and asked, "What's wrong?"
"There is a letter from Lin Dongzhe." Xiaoting handed the letter to Dongzhe casually.
"Impossible, my letters are all in the envelope." Dongzhe said firmly.
"Here, take a look." Xiaoting raised her voice.
Dongzhe immediately heard something wrong in her tone and looked back.
He didn't recognize the piece of paper in Xiaoting's hand, so he replied, "It's not mine!"
Pengfei pursed his lips, suppressed his laughter, and glared at him.
"What?" Dongzhe asked Pengfei with a frown.
"Oh, it's okay. Class is about to start. I'm going to the bathroom." Pengfei stood up and left.
"I'll go wash my hands and eyes too." Xiaoting also stood up and put the notebook and letter paper on Dongzhe's desk.
Dongzhe was puzzled, but still concerned:
"What's wrong with your eyes? I told you not to touch other people's homework books. They're so dirty. And then you rubbed your eyes... You can't wash them with tap water! Go to the infirmary and get some eye drops."
Xiaoting ignored him and left the classroom.
"I called my aunt tonight and asked her to talk to the teacher. I should just be the class monitor instead of the math representative. Collecting notebooks is so dirty."
Dongzhe muttered to himself, his eyes falling on the homework book in front of him.
English workbook, my own.
"Oh, hahaha, it's mine! So it's mine! Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha, it's for me... My notebook is not dirty, I am cute and clean..."
He felt very happy, picked up the colorful letter paper and took a look at it, then he let out a cry of joy.
There was a messy-looking poem written on the letter paper, but upon closer inspection, it turned out to be a self-composed acrostic poem, hiding Lin Dongzhe's name. The general meaning of the poem was similar to that, but there was no signature.
Dongzhe jumped up, crumpled the letter into a ball and threw it on the table.
Then he thought, no, he picked it up again and ran to the trash can outside the classroom, tore the paper into pieces and threw it into the trash can.
My heart is still beating "boom boom" after it was torn apart.
He was waiting at the classroom door for Xiaoting to come back from "washing her eyes".
When Xiaoting came back, she was with several female classmates, and he didn't know how to speak up.
Then class started.
Dongzhe had no intention of listening to the class and kept looking back at Xiaoting.
Xiao Ting noticed it and glared at him fiercely, signaling him with her eyes to listen to the class carefully. Only then did he regain his focus.
After the first class, Xiaoting was called over by the head teacher for something.
After the second class, Xiaoting went to the bathroom.
The third class was physical education. There was a school staff meeting after the class, so school would be over after this class. When he and several male classmates put away their sports equipment, Xiaoting was gone when he turned around.
He ran to the classroom and saw that the schoolbag was still there, so he waited for her in the classroom.
But after waiting for a long time, Xiaoting didn't come back. He went to the teacher's office again, but Xiaoting was not there.
Dongzhe was inexplicably worried and began to look for Xiaoting in the school.
At first, he searched silently, then he started shouting, "Xiaoting!"
The more I look, the more anxious I become.
Finally, only the laboratory building was left to be found.
The laboratory building houses biology, physics, and chemistry laboratories. Because there are many experimental instruments, they are locked when there are no classes.
He passed by once and pushed the door, but it was locked, so he thought Xiaoting would not be inside and went to look somewhere else.
Now, he is back here again.
The small building had two floors. He circled it and shouted loudly, "Huang Xiaoting! Xiaoting!"
After one circle, he stopped talking and listened carefully.
Sure enough, a very soft response was heard: "Lin... Dongzhe..."
Lin Dongzhe didn't have time to find someone with the key, so he found a brick outside the building and smashed the glass of the door, then reached in and unlocked the door from the inside.
He remembered that the place where Xiaoting made the sound just now seemed to be upstairs. The sound was very small and it was a place without windows. It must be the laboratory at the end.
So he ran straight up to the second floor and ran to the end, shouting anxiously:
"Xiaoting!"
"I'm in the back corridor!" Xiaoting replied.
Dongzhe hurried over and saw Xiaoting sitting on the stairs with a pale face.
The moment I saw Dongzhe's figure, the tears that I had been holding back finally fell.
"What's wrong?" Dongzhe squatted beside her and asked.
Xiao Ting said with difficulty: "I slipped and my foot... hurts so much, I can't move..."
The teacher who was inspecting just now only looked at the laboratory and did not ask any questions. Xiaoting did not hear the inspecting teacher's footsteps, so she could not be rescued.
Dongzhe knew that the problem was serious when he saw that she was sweating from the pain.
Zhou Huaiyi had taught them that if it was really a fracture, it was best not to move.
"Wait for me, I'll go find someone to help."
"Yeah." Xiaoting nodded.
"Don't be afraid. If you're afraid, just sing. I'll be back to accompany you soon." Dongzhe's eyes turned red when he said this.
He knew that Xiaoting had always been well protected. If she had a small cut, the whole family would have to look for the wound under the light. She had never suffered such pain.
"Yeah." Xiaoting responded.
"Here's a book. If you read it, you will forget the pain." Dongzhe took out a book from his schoolbag and put it in Xiaoting's hand, then ran out to call for help.
He went to the infirmary to find the school doctor on duty, and borrowed the infirmary's phone to call Zhou Huaiyi. Zhou Huaiyi's workplace was very close to the school, and it was not time for him to get off work yet.
Xiaoting calmed down and opened the book on her lap. It was a magazine, but the cover was titled "History".
She just smiled.
He's really something. No wonder he's never included in the teacher's collection of miscellaneous books. I thought he was so obedient and didn't read these miscellaneous books, but it turns out he used this trick.
After turning a few pages, Xiaoting was suddenly stunned.
There is a doodle under the illustration on this page, which looks like a leaf or a flower. It feels like Dongzhe drew it randomly while reading a book.
However, she saw her own name in the graffiti.
The name was probably written first, and then some messy patterns were drawn to cover it up.
At this moment, Xiaoting didn't feel as painful anymore.
