Chapter 52 You Are Kind to People
The next day at noon, Zhuang's father and mother went to Huang Ling's house together.
Unexpectedly, Huang Ling was already at home on vacation.
She was sitting on the bed, curled up in the quilt, reading a book. Zhuang Chaoying was washing the sheets on the steps, and there were several other sheets piled up nearby.
Tunan and Xiaoting are doing homework in the house.
"Oh! Washing the sheets in such a cold weather! Where's Aling?"
Although Zhuang's mother didn't like her son, she felt uncomfortable when she saw him working.
"Why does the weather get warmer when I wash the quilt? I am the warm and humid air flow!" Huang Ling said through the window.
Zhuang's mother didn't understand, but she knew she was teasing her.
"Mom, the New Year is almost here, so let's wash and change. Aling...is not feeling well and can't stand cold water." Zhuang Chaoying explained.
"You are such a caring person! I had just finished my postpartum confinement and you started washing me before I even finished my full confinement." Zhuang's mother stood aside and watched.
"No wonder you only took care of me for three days during my confinement period before going on a business trip when I gave birth to Xiaoting. You said it was arranged by the factory. Later, I specifically asked about it, and it turned out you applied for it yourself. You just didn't want to take care of me during my confinement period. Zhuang Chaoying is a piece of shit, he didn't even offer a hand, and I was treated coldly during my confinement period!
I couldn't understand why there was such a mother-in-law before, but now I understand, it turns out that you suffered, and you want your daughter-in-law to suffer the same pain, so that you can feel at peace, right?"
Today Huang Ling did not avoid the two children and let them listen.
Since I want a divorce, I must explain to them, so I must let them know about the suffering I have endured. I don't ask them to stand on my side, but I won't take the blame either.
Before Zhuang's mother outside could answer, Huang Ling continued:
"Oh, you didn't take care of Tu Nan when he was born. You were busy with your youngest son's wedding. Cutting the wedding characters is so important, much more important than the eldest grandson! The child's grandmother took care of him throughout the confinement period. You only came to see him once on the day he was born.
After the confinement period, I brought Tunan to visit you. Tunan peed, so I washed a few diapers at your house. Tunan, guess what your grandma said.
Tunan and Xiaoting looked up at their mother from the inner room.
"Your grandma said, 'This smell is too strong! It stinks!' Then I thought I didn't wash it clean enough, so I went to wash it again. Your grandma said, 'Why wash it again! Water is free!' Oh, please don't come here again! I can't stand it! I love cleanliness!
What happened next? Zhendong and Zhenbei would check the color and smell before washing their pants after they pooped. She didn't have to be so particular about cleanliness! She despised me and Tunan, and I'll remember this forever!"
The two children are not young anymore and can understand.
They are also aware of their grandparents' favoritism.
"Okay, Aling, let's not bring up the past." Zhuang Chaoying wiped his hands, stood up and let Zhuang's father and mother into the house.
"Tunan, do you know what I hate the most? It's your father who not only didn't speak up for me, didn't feel sorry for me, but also apologized to your grandparents and said sorry! Who am I sorry to? You told me not to bring up the past, but this account must be settled, right? Otherwise, why wouldn't the debt collectors do that?"
The two men were not interested in arguing with her, and looked her up and down as soon as they entered the house.
"Tunan, your grandparents asked your dad to give them 25 yuan a month, saying it was money they saved for you and Xiaoting. So when you're short of money in the future, just ask them for it. From the year before you were born until you graduated from elementary school, you're good at math and can calculate it clearly."
"Your father is really helping you save this money. Even when our family was starving, your father never stopped."
"Huang Ling, what nonsense are you talking about!" Zhuang's father retracted his gaze when he heard the money. "This is Chaoying's filial piety to us. How can it be saved for Tunan?"
"Hey, that's not what you said when we got married! You said you would save it for us, why did you change your mind now?" Huang Ling lifted the quilt and sat up.
"When did we say that?" Zhuang's father also raised his voice.
Tunan came out of the house.
"You're both paid, so why does the eldest son have to contribute 25 yuan to support his family, while the youngest son doesn't? Why do Tunan and Xiaoting have to go hungry, while Zhendong and Zhenbei eat meat every week? If the money isn't saved, it's used to support Zhuang Ganmei's family. You admit it, right?"
"I..." Mr. Zhuang realized that he had jumped into a pit.
"Either use it or keep it, you have to admit the same thing!" Huang Ling smiled.
"Wow! There's a family like this. This is the first time I've heard of it! The youngest son can't take care of himself and doesn't have a job, so he's just subsidizing the family. But now he's taking over the job, earning the same salary as the eldest brother, and still wants the eldest brother to support him. If I tell anyone about this, wow..."
Song Ying came back from work and happened to hear someone quarreling, so she said something to Yu Yinyang.
"Hey, Sister Ling, don't forget, I'm inviting you to Songhelou for noodles at noon! Teacher Zhuang, I don't think you can go! I have to cook for Mom and Dad~!"
"Ah, I won't go, you guys go!" Zhuang Chaoying replied.
Zhuang Chaoying breathed a sigh of relief when the topic was interrupted, and then asked his parents: "What happened that brought you here?"
"No, I just miss Tunan and Xiaoting. Come and see, didn't you say you wouldn't go home for the New Year? Then I'll bring the children's red envelopes first! Come on, Tunan, Xiaoting!"
Mother Zhuang waved to the two children.
The two children looked at their mother, and Huang Ling nodded, then they walked towards Zhuang's mother.
Zhuang's mother took out two red envelopes from her pocket and gave one to each of them.
"Thank you, Grandpa and Grandma!" The two children thanked them obediently.
At this moment, Song Ying slapped Lin Dongzhe in the room and tilted her face towards the next door. Lin Dongzhe understood and walked to the door and called out:
"Brother Tunan, Xiaoting, are you ready? It's time to go!"
When Zhuang's mother heard this, she immediately said:
"Well, Aling! If someone's treating you to a meal, just take the kids and go! Chaoying and I will hang the sheets out to dry later, so don't worry about it!"
Huang Ling knew that they wanted to get her away so that they could search her house to see if she had any goods.
She then stood up and said with a smile, "Okay! Then Chaoying, you can cook for mom and dad! Don't let them starve!"
After saying that, she led the two children to put on cotton coats, gloves and hats, and went out with Song Ying and Dongzhe.
Mr. Lin can't work overtime.
The three children ran ahead. Song Ying bumped into Huang Ling and said, "You're amazing! You knew they would definitely come to check on us, but you still went out to check on them."
"The greater the hope, the greater the disappointment. Only when they are disappointed will they make a fuss. The more they make a fuss, the happier I am. It would be best if you could report me. Otherwise, how can I turn the tables? Otherwise, with Teacher Zhuang's image as a good guy, others will think I am ungrateful and that I am the one causing trouble!"
Huang Ling patted Song Ying's hand again: "It's my treat today. I have money! No objections!"
If nothing else, just on this street, she is definitely the richest person.
Song Ying bumped Huang Ling with her butt: "Tsk, I have money too! I'm going to refute it!"
“Let’s split the bill!”
"What's AA?" Huang Ling was about to answer, but Song Ying turned her face away and said, "Don't tell me, I don't understand. It's not a good thing anyway! I don't want to hear it!"
