Chapter 326 Arrived in Guangzhou
When I got on the train the next day, there was one lower bunk and two middle bunks. It was located right behind the lounge in the crew car, which should be the safest place in the entire carriage.
Wu Jun climbed onto one of the middle bunks and fell asleep.
Wu Shanshan stood up to check on her brother: "What's wrong? Did you sleep cold last night? Do you have a cold?"
Wu Jun shook his head:
"Sister, it's okay. I'm just sleepy. I don't know if Brother Zheyu is used to his bed, but he couldn't fall asleep all night. He tossed and turned in bed. In the middle of the night, he simply woke me up and asked me to chat with him."
Wu Shanshan suddenly retracted her hand and turned around to bump into Xie Zheyu who came to check. She blushed and wanted to step away, but Xie Zheyu was quick and put his hand on the iron frame of the middle bunk, and the back of Wu Shanshan's head hit his hand.
Wu Jun quickly closed his eyes and fell asleep in a second.
"You can rest in the lower bunk during the day, which is more convenient, and sleep in the middle bunk at night, which is safer." Xie Zheyu instructed.
Wu Shanshan nodded: "Then you should get some sleep first!"
"I won't sleep. I'll stay with you." Xie Zheyu smiled and shook his head.
The two of them sat on the lower bunk, and having no other hobbies, they took out books to read.
Wu Jun raised his body and took a look at the lower bunk. Wow, other people were reading for leisure and entertainment, but these two nerds were reading, writing and drawing at the same time. He was so scared that he fell back, closed his eyes and fell asleep in a second.
When Wu Shanshan got up to pour some water, she saw that the pen in Xie Zheyu's hand, who was sitting cross-legged beside her, had rolled onto the bed.
When I looked down, I found that the person had fallen asleep without me noticing.
Wu Shanshan gently took the book from his hand, shook out the quilt and covered him with it.
Xie Zheyu raised his eyelids, tilted his body, and fell down, but he huddled his body to the inside and gave up his seat at the end of the table for Wu Shanshan to sit.
"Call me when you leave." Xie Zheyu murmured.
"Okay, go to sleep."
At this moment, Wu Shanshan's heart was full.
She didn't read anymore. Both of them fell asleep, so she had to stay awake and look after the small amount of luggage that the three of them had.
When she had nothing to do, she just looked at the scenery.
Not long after, a warm hand gently covered her hand.
She turned around and saw Xie Zheyu woke up. He reached out from under the quilt and held her hand.
When it was time to eat, the conductor in the lounge in front brought hot meals to the three of them for free.
"Team Leader Yang said you are his younger brothers and sisters, and asked me to take good care of you. I will bring you meals at mealtime. If it's not enough, just ask for more. And if you need anything else, please feel free to ask." The conductor told them.
The three of them hurriedly expressed their gratitude.
A piece of meat was passed back and forth among the three people's lunch boxes.
Finally, Wu Shanshan told everyone to eat their own food and not to pass the meat around anymore, and only then did the meat get eaten.
Along the way, Wu Jun talked and laughed, and became the appearance of a thirteen or fourteen-year-old boy again.
Wu Jun originally only knew that Xie Zheyu liked his sister, but after living together for the past two days, he realized that he knew a lot, so when he looked at him again, his eyes were full of admiration.
After getting off the train, Wu Shanshan led them to the Caiyun Textile Factory.
Wu Chongnan and Tang Yun invited them to their home for dinner.
The couple has a pair of children. The eldest daughter, Wu Jingwei, is in the first year of high school, and the second sons, Wu Jinghao and Wu Jun, are both in the second year of junior high school.
Now the studies of these two children are also handed over to Wu Shanshan.
When they heard that Wu Shanshan's boyfriend was studying at Tsinghua University, they were so shocked that they couldn't close their jaws for a long time.
Xie Zheyu smiled and said, "Shanshan's grades are better than mine. She's just afraid of the cold and doesn't want to go to Beijing."
Tang Yun sighed and said, "We're all too busy. We don't even think about Sun Yat-sen University anymore. It would be fine if they could just go to a technical secondary school."
She is a doctor and is very busy with work. Wu Chongnan is also very busy, so he can't take care of the children.
"However, Shanshan has been here for half a year and saved my life. Their grades have improved a lot." Tang Yun continued.
Two boys of similar age were already chatting in the room.
"Shanshan is so tight-lipped..." Tang Yun looked at Xie Zheyu and said with a smile.
Wu Shanshan blushed and lowered her head without saying anything. Xie Zheyu then took over the conversation:
"Hehe, so I have to come see you two, thank you for helping me take such good care of Shanshan, Aunt Huang..."
Before Xie Zheyu finished speaking, he heard Wu Chongnan calling him from the study:
"Xiao Xie, your Aunt Huang is calling."
Just now, Wu Chongnan called to inform Huang Ling that the other two had arrived.
"Okay!" Xie Zheyu got up to answer the phone.
Tang Yun took Wu Shanshan's hand and said, "I think he's a good kid! But he's in Beijing, and his future job..."
"He said he wanted to come to Guangzhou to work."
Tang Yun was relieved immediately: "That's great."
The two chatted for a while, and Xie Zheyu was still on the phone. Wu Shanshan was a little anxious, thinking that this was Wu Chongnan's house and long-distance calls were quite expensive, so there was no way she could say so much to Huang Ling, so she got up to check.
Unexpectedly, Xie Zheyu was answering the phone while his hands were quickly taking notes and answering or asking questions.
Wu Chongnan left the study and said to Tang Yun:
"This kid who studies well is different! His brain is really good, and he can do three things at once without any problem."
They both looked up at their son who was grinning foolishly in the room and shook their heads.
After a while, Wu Shanshan saw that Xie Zheyu had written a full page, some of which were marks and sentences, some of which she could understand and some of which she could not.
"Auntie, Shanshan is next to me." As he said that, Xie Zheyu handed the microphone to Wu Shanshan.
"Auntie Huang..."
"Shanshan, is everything going well?"
When Wu Shanshan heard Huang Ling's voice, she choked up and tears fell unconsciously.
"It went well, auntie." Xie Zheyu leaned close to the microphone and answered for her.
"Shanshan, I'm not worried about you, I'm worried about Xiaojun. Don't be too indulgent just because you think Xiaojun has suffered. That will hurt him." Huang Ling reminded.
Huang Ling poured a bucket of cold water on Wu Shanshan, and she calmed down. She replied:
"Auntie, I understand."
The two chatted for a few words and hung up the phone. Xie Zheyu looked at the list in his hand and joked:
"I knew it was no good when she asked me to answer the phone. Don't even think about taking advantage of Aunt Huang. If she spends a hundred on you, she should at least get back three hundred."
Wu Shanshan recovered her mood and asked, "I have something for you to do."
"Well, there are eleven in total, which can be exchanged for my return sleeper ticket. This means that if I can't do it well, I will have to stand for more than forty hours to go back. Also, I take back my previous words praising Brother Yiming. It seems that this matter was arranged by our Aunt Huang." Xie Zheyu pointed at the paper and smiled.
Wu Shanshan also lowered her head and chuckled softly: "Even if you have to go back standing, you have to help her get things done."
"That's for sure." Xie Zheyu smiled, revealing eight big white teeth.
After dinner, Wu Shanshan took Xie Zheyu and Wu Jun back home.
Starting from the next semester, she applied to live outside the home on the grounds that she had an underage brother who needed to be taken care of. She lived in the staff dormitory of Wu Chongnan's factory. This way, the two of them did not have to cook and could eat all three meals in the factory.
Compared to my home in Suzhou, this one is very spacious with a large passage divided into two rooms.
Xie Zheyu is a very outgoing person. When the neighbors greeted and chatted with him, they knew that this was specially arranged by Wu Chongnan. He also had children at home who needed to study, so they would definitely not make any noise.
He was completely relieved and stayed in Guangzhou for a few more days to help Huang Ling finish her business before returning to Suzhou.
