In the bedroom, warm light strips cast a soft glow on the deep double bed.
The pheromones of the alpha and omega collided and intertwined, and Ji Mingfei, soothed by the alpha pheromones, had completely entered his heat cycle.
With her remaining sanity, Chu Yue forcibly pulled herself out of the omega's gentle embrace. She leaned against Ji Mingfei, her eyes fixed on the unconscious omega, who was breathing heavily.
"Ji Mingfei, do you know who I am?" The hoarse voice carried a hint of resentment at unfulfilled desire.
Suddenly unable to find his alpha, Ji Mingfei snuggled into Chu Yue's arms like a clingy kitten, his manner both affectionate and seductive as he asked, "Hmm... I haven't seen you before. How long have you been at the company?"
Chu Yue frowned slightly. How far back in this memory confusion had it gotten?
"Do you have time tonight? I'd like to treat you to dinner."
Chu Yue pressed down on her wandering hand and said the same thing as that day in the elevator, only her tone was much more perfunctory: "Treating me to dinner is very expensive."
"I can afford any price you want."
It was this sexually suggestive remark that convinced Chu Yue that the omega who had suddenly struck up a conversation with her had ulterior motives. She could have simply refused him, or even worse, confronted him directly and asked, "Who is your direct supervisor?"
But why didn't she do that back then? Chu Yue is only now beginning to ponder this question. Perhaps she wanted to make Shen Qing'an give up completely, perhaps she liked the scent of Ji Mingfei's pheromones, or perhaps she was attracted to that two-faced face...?
That morning, Chu Yue was already considering whether to continue this stable relationship, but Ji Mingfei's word "accident" cut her off from what she was about to say.
Chu Yue didn't pay much attention to it afterward, and the matter quickly passed. Until she met Ji Mingfei again, those long-forgotten memories suddenly resurfaced, haunting her heart like a ghost.
"Go to A, are you into OO love?"
The thought of this made Chu Yue furious. She pushed Ji Mingfei away from her embrace, not allowing her to cling to her. But every time she pushed her away, Ji Mingfei would whine and cling to her, and if she pushed her too hard, Ji Mingfei would glare at her with a pitiful expression.
"Aren't you happy yet?" Chu Yue poked Ji Mingfei's rosy cheeks.
Ji Mingfei was unhappy about being poked, and opened his mouth to bite her finger, but Chu Yue easily dodged it.
"You're like a puppy!" Chu Yue grabbed Ji Mingfei's hand and pressed it onto the pillow, leaning half her body over to tease her. "You knocked on my door in the middle of the night, were you thinking of having an affair and looking for excitement?"
With the soothing effects of Alph, Ji Mingfei was much quieter than when she first entered the room. She slowly shook her head, looking more docile than when she was sober.
"Wouldn't your alpha be angry if he knew you were lying in my bed at night?" Chu Yue persisted.
Ji Mingfei thought about it carefully and said, "There are no other alphas."
Chu Yue stroked Ji Mingfei's long hair and continued to ask, coaxingly, "Who is the child's alpha mother?"
"...I can't say." She hadn't even considered this question; it was as if she had already prepared the answer and it would just slip out at any moment.
"Can't tell? Then I'll stamp your name so you can never find another alpha again." Chu Yue's hand gently ran through Ji Mingfei's hair, reaching the gland on her neck, and she whispered in her ear with a threatening tone.
"Oh." Ji Mingfei lifted one leg, put it on Chu Yue's waist and deliberately rubbed against it. "You can mark me." This unusual behavior was like a special privilege that was given only once.
Chu Yue looked at her in confusion and asked, "Why did you suddenly agree?"
Ji Mingfei looked away guiltily and confessed, "The doctor said I need alpha pheromones."
"And what about yourself?"
Ji Mingfei hesitated, "I..."
Chu Yue suddenly kissed her, silencing her before she could finish speaking. The alpha's unease caused an overabundance of pheromones, overwhelming the omega with their power.
Chu Yue did not take advantage of her vulnerability to leave a permanent mark on her. Instead, she wanted to take more, but Ji Mingfei abandoned her and went to sleep peacefully not long after being marked.
Chu Yue was once again used as a tool.
A person with a strong sense of self-management will not only be responsive to every request, but will also thoughtfully cover the omega with a blanket after she has been satisfied and fallen asleep on her own.
The air was filled with the scent of pheromones, and this brief, temporary marking brought even greater psychological satisfaction than the previous in-depth interaction.

Around six in the morning, Ji Mingfei suddenly woke up. Looking at the window facing completely opposite directions and the unfamiliar chandelier, Ji Mingfei slowly recalled some things from her "dream." She turned her head and, unsurprisingly, saw that familiar face, almost having a heart attack.

Ji Mingfei tried to convince herself that nothing had happened between them, that they had just slept in the same bed, but the mark on her neck wouldn't lie.
Regarding last night's events, Ji Mingfei's memory only went as far as developing a fever in the middle of the night. Because she was worried it would affect the baby in her womb, the thought of asking Chu Yue for a temporary mark did flash through her mind. But she swore it was just a fleeting thought.
Ji Mingfei glanced at the woman beside him again. Chu Yue was fast asleep and showed no signs of waking up. The idea of "running away" without a word once again took over.
Ji Mingfei stared nervously at Chu Yue's sleeping face, slowly removing the blanket from his body, protecting his barely noticeable belly as he began to retreat.
After successfully getting out of bed, Ji Mingfei, carrying his slippers, crouched low and tiptoed towards the door.
"You're leaving already?" Chu Yue's voice suddenly broke the silence of the bedroom in the early morning.
Ji Mingfei turned around stiffly, forcing an awkward smile, "You...you're awake..."
"Hmm, I woke up as soon as you got out of bed." Chu Yue sat up and leaned against the headboard, her long legs crossed. "Where did you learn this habit of running away as soon as you finish sleeping?"
"I...I didn't run away. I usually get up at this time...otherwise I'll be late for work."
Chu Yue turned on her phone screen and showed Ji Mingfei the time: 6:07. "The company's normal working hours are 9:00."
Ji Mingfei stammered, “I have a lot to do when I get up in the morning… taking a shower, cooking, cleaning… so it takes me a long time.”
"Don't you have anything to say to me about you knocking on my door in the middle of the night?"
Ji Mingfei slowly loosened her grip on the hem of the skirt, then suddenly bowed to Chu Yue on the bed to express her gratitude, saying sincerely, "You worked hard last night!"
