"Sis, what are you doing out here?"
While idly waiting at the bar, Zhou Ruan caught a glimpse of Zhou Wen coming out of the office and asked her a question.
"The two of them were talking, and it was a bit inconvenient for me to be inside."
Zhou Wen walked behind the bar, looked in the direction of her office, and answered Zhou Ruan.
"These two came to our store to discuss business, occupied your office, and even kicked you out. They were really rude."
Zhou Ruan realized that Zhou Wen had been kicked out, and looked in the direction of the office with some resentment.
"Do you know who you just brought in? Remember this, you're not allowed to cause trouble when he comes again. Behave yourself and don't be as loud and boisterous as you were today."
Zhou Wen turned her head to look at her younger sister, recalling what had just happened. There wasn't a single thing about her younger sister that made her, as the older sister, feel at ease. She then gave Zhou Ruan some advice.
"Lu Fan is the chairman of the Jiang Group and also a shareholder of our coffee shop. Logically, I should be wondering why he's being treated so well. But what does that uncle do? And why is he making you greet him with such a smile?"
Zhou Ruan also had doubts in her heart. Just now in the office, her usually aloof sister actually took the initiative to greet an older man. Looking at her sister, she asked.
"That person is Lu Fan's secretary from the Jiang Group."
When Zhou Ruan asked who Secretary Ge was, Zhou Wen realized that Zhou Ruan had never met Secretary Ge before, and then said to Zhou Ruan.
"Secretary, why does he seem even more arrogant than Lu Fan? When Lu Fan came, you didn't even take the initiative to go up and shake hands with him."
Zhou Ruan is quite good at judging people; she sensed that Zhou Wen was noticeably more enthusiastic towards Secretary Ge earlier.
"That's because most of the work at the Jiang Group is done by Secretary Ge. Lu Fan is a hands-off manager in the company. If we get along well with Secretary Ge, it will be very beneficial to us."
Having already inquired about the structure of the Jiang Group, Zhou Wen smiled and spoke to Zhou Ruan.
——
Liu Shang's office at Shanggong Group.
"Chairman, this is the latest list of new employees in our company."
Gong Yi stood in front of Liu Shang and handed him the compiled list.
"Great! The Jiang Group really is a sunset company, with so many middle-level managers and grassroots employees."
Liu Shang took the list and looked at the names on it, the positions they had held, and the companies they had worked for. Seeing that most of the people were from the Jiang Group, Liu Shang smiled and said to Gong Yi.
“I just asked them and learned some information.”
Gong Yi looked at Liu Shang and saw that he was just a low-level employee of the Jiang Group. He wondered what was so exciting about him. Gong Yi was speechless and thought, "Is he really that unsophisticated?"
"Tell me, what have you learned?"
After hearing Gong Yi's words, Liu Shang placed the list on the table and looked at Gong Yi curiously, asking a question.
Liu Shang is now very interested in knowing the current state of the Jiang Group. Only those who have left the Jiang Group are most likely to know the details.
"From what I understand, this person is just a low-level employee of the Jiang Group, along with a small number of mid-level key personnel. The company's real core employees have not left the Jiang Group at all, and their strength has hardly been lost."
Gong Yi explained everything he knew to Liu Shang in detail.
"Hmph, I was initially quite happy, but suddenly it feels like I just picked up something they didn't want."
After hearing Gong Yi's words, Liu Shang felt as if he had been doused with a bucket of cold water. He angrily threw the list in his hand away and said indignantly.
"For the Jiang Group, these people are just a burden, neither useful nor worth discarding, but for our newly established Shanggong Group, they are an invaluable treasure."
Seeing that Liu Shang had thrown the list on the ground, Gong Yi quickly walked over, picked up the list that Liu Shang had just thrown away, brushed the dirt off it with his hand, and looked at the list with a smile as he spoke to Liu Shang.
"Treasure? These are people no one wants. If they were useful, would Lu Fan have let them go?"
Liu Shang wasn't stupid; he knew exactly how much his company was short of talent. But seeing that these were people others didn't want made him feel somewhat uneasy.
"Chairman, do you still want to expand and strengthen your business? Lu Fan can't keep these people, but if we keep them, they are our asset. If we nurture them properly, there is still room for development."
Gong Yi understood Liu Shang's thoughts and then patiently explained them to him.
"Alright, alright, I'll get this done for you."
Liu Shang thought about what Gong Yi said and found it to be very reasonable. He thought about the capable people he used to have, who had all been driven away by him one by one. Whenever he thought about this, his head would feel throbbing.
Pressing his forehead, he waved his hand and said, "Let Gong Yi handle this mess."
"Alright, then I'll assign them to their respective positions first. If they're promising, I'll keep them; if they don't have any real skills, I'll let them go. After all, they're all opportunists, and they might treat us the same way in the future."
Hearing that Liu Shang was finally willing to relinquish power to him, Gong Yi was overjoyed and quickly told Liu Shang what he had already prepared.
"I'm at ease leaving it to you. Go and get busy."
Seeing the grateful look in Gong Yi's eyes, Liu Shang smiled and said to Gong Yi.
Ring ring ring!
"Hello?"
Just as Gong Yi was about to say something, the phone on Liu Shang's desk rang. Liu Shang picked up the phone, waved to Gong Yi, and said to the person on the other end of the line.
Gong Yi understood Liu Shang's meaning: he wanted him to leave as soon as possible. Gong Yi nodded and smiled, then left the office.
"What? The person is missing?"
Just as Gong Yi left and immediately closed the office door, Liu Shang suddenly shouted into the phone.
Gong Yi didn't know what had happened, but he didn't listen any further and quickly went to do what Liu Shang had instructed.
"Okay, I'm coming right now!"
Hearing that Big Bear on the other end of the phone hadn't explained himself clearly after talking for a while, I quickly stopped him and thought for a moment before speaking to Big Bear.
After saying that, he hung up the phone, grabbed his coat, and walked outside.
About fifteen minutes later.
Da Xiong and a few others were standing at the door. They had just received a phone call from Liu Shang saying he would come over in person, and they could tell that Liu Shang was genuinely angry on the other end of the line. They were all anxiously waiting for Liu Shang to arrive.
"The chairman is here!"
Just as everyone's hearts were in their throats, the sound of Liu Shang arriving came from the direction of the villa gate.
Everyone looked towards the entrance and saw Liu Shang walk in. They quickly made way for him and stood on both sides watching him go in.
"Chairman!"
Big Bear quickly walked over and said to Liu Shang with his head down.
