Chapter 1141 Becoming the Director Makes All the Difference!

Only now did the dean realize that Lu Xi was an even more troublesome fellow than Lu Fan.

But for the sake of his future, he could only swallow his anger, since he was just an employee.

"By the way, isn't there a department head in the hospital named Gao Chao?"

Hearing that he could take so many decorations from the office for free, he was already celebrating. But in his excitement, he suddenly remembered what he had come for and almost forgot what Lu Fan had told him. He looked at the dean, who had his head down, and asked.

"Yes, he's the newly appointed head of the inspection office. Why are you asking him?"

The dean, who had been looking down, looked up at Lu Xi. This director was someone he had just promoted, and normally Lu Xi wouldn't have had any contact with him. He wondered why Lu Xi was asking him this, and asked her in confusion.

“My brother had something to do, and I asked him what could be wrong.”

Seeing the dean's puzzled expression, he played with the pen on the table and said to the dean.

"Did President Lu ask him if he had any instructions?"

The dean was initially apprehensive watching Lu Xi play with her fountain pen, which was a gift from someone else and was incredibly valuable. However, when he heard that Lu Fan was asking about Gao Chao's situation, he became serious and spoke to Lu Xi.

He completely forgot about the fountain pen and didn't care about it anymore.

“After he finished examining my sister-in-law today, my brother was very dissatisfied with this director. He said he had no professional ethics at all and even asked me to ask you how this person became the director.”

Lu Xi recounted the entire incident to the dean, adding her own comments at the end.

I have a feeling that the things in this office are definitely not something he could buy with his salary, and the fact that he could give them away like this means there must be something wrong with them.

"Really? There's such a thing? I'll definitely give him a good talking-to so he can truly realize his mistake."

The sweat on her face had disappeared, and only panic remained in her eyes, because Lu Xi was now holding the fountain pen that Gao Chao had given her.

He swallowed hard and said to Lu Xi.

It sounds like you've misunderstood me.

Listening to the dean's words, it seemed that the punishment was severe, but there was no real punishment; it was all just a formality. This was completely different from what his brother had told him. He twirled the pen in his hand and said to the dean.

"So, what does Mr. Lu mean?"

The dean noticed that Lu Xi was dissatisfied with his punishment and tentatively asked her a question.

"My brother thinks that such a great figure should be encouraged to find another job."

Lu Xi then relayed Lu Fan's message to the dean.

"But this person is also a key member of the hospital! If they are dismissed for no reason, I'm afraid it will have a bad influence on the hospital."

Upon hearing Lu Xi's words, the dean was clearly taken aback. Gao Chao had just accepted money to become the director, and Lu Xi had taken these gifts away. If he were to return them, he would have to pay out of his own pocket. He said to Lu Xi with some embarrassment.

“Okay, then I’ll go tell my brother that you can’t handle this, and I’ll have him find someone else to do it.”

Lu Xi didn't care about the dean's faults. Since she heard that he couldn't do it, she got up and walked outside. When she was almost at the door, she turned around and said something to the dean.

“Please wait, Miss. I heard you have beautiful handwriting. You just happen to need a good fountain pen. Here, take this one. Also, I’m suspending Gao Chao from his post right now. He’ll be fired tomorrow.”

Seeing that Lu Xi was about to leave, the dean quickly stopped her. While stopping her, he also picked up the pen that Lu Xi had just turned around on the table and handed it to her with a smile.

"Okay, I'll put in a good word for you with my brother, especially since you work so hard."

He took the pen from the dean, put it in his bag, and nodded to the dean with satisfaction.

"Thank you, Miss. I won't see you off. I have to go and deal with Gao Chao's matter."

The dean stood at the door, watching Lu Xi's departing figure, waving his hand and smiling as he spoke to her.

"Go, have Gao Chao from the inspection department come to my office."

After Lu Xi walked away, the smile on the dean's face vanished instantly. He then called over a nurse and spoke to her with a livid expression.

"good."

Seeing the director's expression, the nurse knew he was unhappy and quickly ran to find Gao Chao.

"Let me tell you, President Lu thanked me back then and said that I had a bright future and told me to work hard."

At this moment, Gao Chao had no idea what was going to happen next and was still chatting with other doctors in the department.

"Director Gao, I've met President Lu a few times. I have no doubt that he thanked you. But you said he has a limitless future. It sounds like you're just exaggerating."

After Gao Chao finished speaking, some people looked surprised, while others looked puzzled. One of them spoke up and asked Gao Chao his question.

"Yeah! Are you just bragging to me?"

The others shook their heads at Gao Chao's words, feeling that Lu Fan would never say such a thing.

Moreover, it was told to Gao Chao that all the doctors in the hospital knew that Gao Chao hadn't gotten the position through his own abilities; there must have been some manipulation involved.

But no one said anything openly, since Gao Chao had a way of doing things; they could only despise him in their hearts.

"Hey, why don't you guys believe me? Believe me or not, the dean will be looking for me soon, and then I might be able to get promoted."

Hearing that everyone else was no good, Gao Chao felt a little insecure, but since he had already said it, he could only grit his teeth and continue.

"You're just bragging."

"Being a director really makes a difference!"

Everyone laughed, realizing that Gao Chao's confidence was waning and he still refused to budge.

Knock knock knock!

"Is Director Gao here?"

The nurse the dean had just called stood at the door, knocking on the department door. She saw several people in the office. Although she knew Gao Chao, she hadn't had a chance to meet him since he had just taken office, and for a moment she didn't know who he was, so she asked the people in the office.

"I am Gao Chao. What do you want with me?"

Upon hearing that someone had come to see him, Gao Chao stood up and looked at the nurse at the door, asking her a question. He didn't recognize the nurse at all.

"The dean wants you to go to his office."

The nurse saw Gao Chao stand up, saw the name tag on his chest, and realized it was indeed Gao Chao. Then she said to Gao Chao.

"Okay, I'll be right there."

Gao Chao had already regretted saying it earlier.

The dean usually won't send someone to his office; once the words have been spoken, it's too late to take them back.

But when he saw that the nurse had actually come to find him, he happily said to her.
