The two then left the police station together and went to a restaurant across the street, where they ordered some food and ate.
Sun Dahai, who had been observing inside the police station, noticed that Sun Yue and Du Wanzhe left, Qu Tu was kicked out of the police station, and Zhang Xinlei was not driven away. Boss Qu was furious and called the deputy director of the provincial department to inquire about the situation, wanting to ask why he suddenly changed his mind. He made four or five calls but no one answered.
Old Qu sensed something was wrong, so he asked around and found out that the deputy director was in a meeting. He also learned from Qu Tu that the police were interrogating Zhang Xinlei. After what had just happened, Zhang Xinlei must be feeling desperate. That's when he called Sun Dahai and asked him to find Zhang Xinlei.
We absolutely cannot let her say anything. Although Old Qu didn't believe Zhang Xinlei would say anything, he was still a little worried.
"Captain Sun."
Only after Sun Yue and Du Wanzhe left did Sun Dahai dare to come to the interrogation department. If he hadn't received a call from Elder Qu, he would have already gone home after get off work.
When Sun Jiabao and the others on duty saw Sun Dahai enter, they quickly stood up and saluted him.
"Um."
Sun Dahai nodded and walked towards the interrogation department. To get to the interrogation room, one had to pass through this office area. Sun Yue had specifically locked Zhang Xinlei up here, just in case someone contacted her.
Sun Yue nodded to Sun Jiabao and the others, then pretended to walk inside as if nothing had happened.
"Wait a minute, Captain Sun."
Seeing Sun Dahai walking inside, Sun Jiabao panicked a little. After all, Sun Yue had given instructions before leaving, so he quickly got up and stopped Sun Dahai from continuing to walk forward.
"I heard you arrested a criminal who was the murderer in Section Chief Wu's car accident. I had a very good relationship with Section Chief Wu, and I was very angry when I heard about this. I want to ask this person why he did this!"
Sun Dahai looked at the police officer in front of him and then gave the reason he had already prepared.
"Captain Sun, I'm really sorry, but our section chief is not allowing anyone to see her right now. When our section chief returns, I will tell him your request to see the prisoner."
Sun Jiabao didn't suspect anything. Ever since Zhang Xinlei was arrested, Sun Dahai wasn't the only one who came; they were all taken back. Then he said to Sun Dahai.
"It's alright, I just want to see who it is, and see if she has two heads!"
Sun Dahai pushed aside Sun Jiabao, who was blocking his way, and walked directly towards the interrogation room where Zhang Xinlei was being held.
"What are you all standing there for? Come here right now!"
After all, Sun Dahai was the captain of the criminal investigation team, and he was just a police officer; he couldn't stop him at all. Sun Jiabao then looked at the other officers on duty and said...
Just as Sun Dahai was about to open the interrogation room door, Sun Jiabao and the others pulled him back. Sun Dahai only opened the door a crack and saw Zhang Xinlei sitting inside.
"So this is the murderer who killed Officer Wu! This person must be severely punished, and everyone involved in this matter should be arrested as well, otherwise who knows what they might do next."
Seeing Zhang Xinlei's haggard appearance, Sun Dahai knew that Elder Qu's worries were worthwhile. As Elder Qu's confidante, Zhang Xinlei must know about his deal with Elder Qu. He then quickly spoke loudly to Zhang Xinlei inside.
"Captain Sun, please, don't say anything!"
Hearing Sun Dahai speaking to Zhang Xinlei inside, Sun Jiabao quickly covered Sun Dahai's mouth. He didn't care whether Sun Dahai was the team leader or not, and quickly dragged Sun Dahai away.
Hearing the sound, Zhang Xinlei peeked through the crack in the door and saw Sun Dahai standing there. Zhang Xinlei had heard Old Qu mention Sun Dahai before; it was Sun Dahai who provided the time when Section Chief Wu had his car accident. Looking into his eyes, Zhang Xinlei seemed to understand something, knowing that this must have been an order from Old Qu. Seeing the door close again, Zhang Xinlei lowered her head in despair. Even Old Qu had given up on her; there really was no one else who could save her.
"Let me go! Stand at attention!"
Sun Dahai was under the control of these people. He had achieved his goal and there was no need to keep him there any longer. He wanted to break free of his restraints, but Sun Jiabao and the others thought that Sun Dahai wanted to go back and refused to let go. Helpless, Sun Dahai gave orders to the group.
Upon hearing the order to stand at attention, Sun Jiabao and the others quickly released Sun Dahai and stood at attention, watching him closely. However, they were all prepared to stop him at any moment, fearing that he might continue to the interrogation room.
"I feel much better after venting. I won't make things difficult for you. You don't need to tell your section chief about this."
He straightened his police uniform, then spoke to Sun Jiabao and the others before leaving the interrogation room.
"Jiabao, do you think we should talk to the section chief about this?"
"Are you stupid?! If the section chief comes back and finds out that Sun Dahai was right under our noses, near the interrogation room, not only will we not get our midnight snack, but we might all get a scolding!"
Sun Jiabao looked at the questions they asked and then addressed everyone who had been there.
"There's nothing wrong with the person, so don't tell the section chief about this."
Then they arrived at the interrogation room door and saw Zhang Xinlei still sitting there motionless. After thinking for a moment, they spoke to everyone.
An hour later.
After finishing their meal, Sun Dahai and Du Wanzhe packed some leftovers to take back to the police station across the street.
"Don't you have anything you want to ask me?"
As Sun Yue walked back, she looked at Du Wanzhe beside her and asked.
